Apple Butter Festival--Kimmswick. MO 10-24 & 10-25...

Thought I would add some more details to the Apple Butter Festival info since it used to be practically in my backyard!

This years Festival is from 10am-5pm, and as a result the city will be closed to vehicle traffic during those hours. This is the largest single event in Jefferson County. It is estimated to draw near 100,000 people. The Apple Butter Festival is FREE, but expect to pay at least $5 for parking. Paid parking will be available off of Highway K with just a short walk into town. Shuttle parking is available too, so watch for the signs. Visitors may park at Windsor School campus and ride a free shuttle bus into the Festival. The busses will run throughout the day shuttling visitors to/from the parking area at the School.

There will be hundred's of vendor booths throughout the city park selling a variety of crafts and food items. Live entertainment will also be provided by the City of Kimmswick and the Kimmswick Merchants. There is no longer an ATM at the Blue Owl Restaurant due to a lack of use . The Apple Butter Festival started in 1977 and has been growing larger and larger each year ever since. All of the town shops are open and accessible only via foot traffic. Don't forget to buy some of the famous apple butter made fresh during the festival by the Kimmswick Historical Society at the Apple Butter Pavilion on Market Street. From past experience, we have found that the best time to arrive at the Apple Butter Festival is between 10am and 11am on Sunday morning due to the fact that many people are in church. If you can, beat the crowds and go early!

Don't forget SATURDAY NIGHTS Rocky Horror Fandango's Show, at Fandango's in Kirkwood/Valley Park. StaggerCatt has not only added some new tunes to their party jams, but they also have learned 5 RHPS songs! There is a CASH PRIZES costume contest and spooktacular ALL NIGHT specials, like $2 well drinks/domestic bottles!

I love the smell of the burn out pit, too! It can tend to get to be too much...but that aftermath is what is acrid and good at the same time!

But...there are ALWAYS parties at Jacks...and Halloween comes once a year! Hope to see some of you at the Rocky Horror Fandango's Show...even you, ThatRussGuy1!

FUBAR Battle of the Bands $8 admission, please come cheer on "Search Party For My Ex-Wife" ....they are an up and coming local band who WILL make it big some day...all original music...they do not play others stuff! Last week one of their competitors was some crap rap with no instruments...cause they brought so many people, they won! We are going to make sure that does NOT happen tonight! :)

Also, their lead singer is getting married this Saturday....come help the happy couple! They support POF parties often with free tickets to shows and such.

FUBAR is what I believe is an all ages show...or 18 up...one or the other!

I didn't make the wineries today, sure was tempting...too warm to go to the wineries, maybe that was my deal ~ went shopping instead for a new pair of dancin' and work boots. Got 'em ~ came home, hung out, worked on the car a bit; watched tv; fixed my dinner for tomorrow night, yes, I plan ahead!!

I hope everyone had wonderful moments around the St. Louis area, this weekend! Now we are off to a new week which means it is time to remind folks that there is a very cool party happening Sat the 21st @ Bobby's Place! It's the 35th annual "World Hello Day"...and a Plentyoffish Peace Party! (see the thread for details) The concept of this is just MADE FOR a singles/networking gathering because the goal is to SAY HELLO to at least 10 NEW FACES in promotion of peace! How cool is that?

Hope to see you all there!

Don't shoot Bambi!!!! Oh, nooooo!!!!!

It's funny, cause originally the World Hello Day - POF Peace Party was going to be a "While the Bucks are Away...the Does come out to Play Party!" We were gonna tell the girls to wear their cammo and come "hunt" for some fun! ;)

You will be missed Karen...but the rest of us will have a few drinks for you, while hopefully you are doing "other things," for us!

walksoft ~ there are several venues to choose from for Saturday night fun; however sometimes you have to be willing to get out of your box to attend say, your first POF party...you can email me and send me your email address and I can keep you in the loop of things for when my friends and I go out dancing on the weekends or hang out for happy hour during the week, etc.

MoKat...don't take it personal! St. Louis has always been a strong party area in comparison to our other Mo counterparts....and we have our "slow moments" as well. Add to that, impending holidays and a lousy economy....

I don't know what you do for your parties, typically? Check out the hostess forums for lots of ideas! I find the BARS work best and SPECIALS are what draw folks in. With so many special diets, finances, etc...people turn away from large group outings to restaurants in favor of bars. But then you will have others say they wish to go someplace other than a bar! I go with what the majority want! ;)

when im not working, i like going to westport(i.e: the ice kitchen or the trainwreck). Since i live in maryland heights, sometimes ill go to sybergs. however, since i work third shift a lot, the chances of me going out are beginning to be slim to none. haha
