Instant turn-offs on meeting a woman, in addition to some already mentioned

* being over-powered by her perfume and I've only got close enough to shake hands
* a handshake so feeble it feels like I'm holding an empty glove
* lack of sparkle and life in her eyes
* vulgarity

Amazing that I don't see much mention of smoking above. Maybe it's too obvious. Anyway that's the big one for me. The most beautiful woman on earth could be walking down the street half-naked, and if she had a cigarette it'd be the first thing I'd see and I'd immediately lose all interest in the rest.

Offhand I can't think of anything else that turns me off instantly but there are a few things that'll give me a big jolt.:

"R u 4 real?" and other IM-speak

Discussions about lottery tickets.

Bigoted and/or racist name-calling, including use of the term "redneck."

I was tempted to add "snobbery" to the list but that isn't exactly true. Snobs don't turn me off, much as I basically despise snobbery. Instead they stand out of the crowd to me, in much the same way mice stand out to cats. Perhaps it's mean of me but I can rarely resist the chance to wind up a snob, even if it's just in a small way.

I forgot to add one to my list.

Many have already mentioned it, and it may not be discovered INSTANTLY; but it is a deal-breaker, nonetheless.

Hmmmmmmmmm - some of you are really at fast at figuring out what a person is all about. These are meant to be instant turn offs. Sometimes it takes a while to determine whether a person is honest or not.

I am sticking with my original answer dirty teeth and clothes, bad breathe and melons.

^ It may take a while to determine whether a person is honest or not - but when you DO find out they're dishonest, then you're INSTANTLY turned off. It's an INSTANT turn off to find out you're with someone who is a liar. Whether you've known them 5 minutes or 5 months.

Awe come onn MB, "nose hair"? Thats the barbers mistake for cutting those hairs and the person whose nose it is that doesn't realize til much later in life why their nose hairs grow so long. (I've enver noticed women's "nose hairs" ever. Too busy looking at other parts I guess Well I am human.

I'm with you on these top 3 - 100%.
Personally I can add pictures of men with no shirt on! I guess if you are looking for an intimate encounter ok but to many of us women - ugh! Save it for later please. And no, I do not consider myself a prude.
Also top of list are some of the cliches (and I have to be careful here as I may well be guilty) but include women who say about themselves or men who want someone who "looks good in heels and jeans". Or how likes to cuddle by the fire. Ok, you're unique...

These turn me off but also I'm fascinated by how diverse we all our in our quest for love and/or companionship and what we think will attract it to us through our profiles. It's very interesting.

I'm new too so hello back!

Nose hairs don't look good, but I think their function is to filter the air as it enters. The only thing is how come men have filters and women dont?

Mewbies - I forgot the technical term for it and was too polite to ask, so I just said melons.
