Since returning this time, been writing so many lines. The addiction is quickly kicking in again....
So, gonna try and bring home the recent wave of 'first line, last lines' starting with March when I dived back in to this poetic fishbowl out of the blue.
Many first lines were not mine, but wonderful stepping stones from the previous writer...

First Line, Last Line (Part Deux)

My whole life has been committed to the cause
Of rescuing people and cats, plus a few dogs
Siamese were the ones my mom used to show
And drag my brother and me all those years ago
He would go round and draw for a small fee
Those beautiful felines bred quite desperately
To match the extremes the judges would choose
To win the blue ribbons and receive rave reviews

It all came to a stop when we moved far away
Made me a happy girl in a way that day
For I could feel the strain on those poor cats
To try and be good and not hiss and spat
For a cat, big or small, is a cat all the way
If you respect and love and each day with them play
They will return to you a love that is true
That will last long past their last breath is due

I think that's better for my health
To be in nature and not care about wealth
To stay in the sun or shade when it's hot
To find the place that feels like my spot
Where my mind can relax and my body ease
When a warm breeze blows through the tall trees...

Locust trees here that creak in the wind
Grown with shallow roots so close to the ocean
When there's a storm their trunks bend and twist
Wake to a crash as they fall like sunken ships
A tornado brings doom with these trees so weak
But if you listen softly I swear they will speak...

Of their long history shielding the land
Of the pilgrim ships and how they stand
So graceful and high against the night sky
Of the landing of herons and hawks as they fly
Of their watching over all of us here
Of their ever changing story year after year...

By then it will be tomorrow's sunshine
Wouldn't that be just divine
But cold rain is what they're predicting
Wishing for the warm season of Spring
When bees buzz round everything blossoming
Transplanting pollen with their feet and wings
If only bees were not going extinct
They are definitely on the brink...

For me it's a groove thing
All my life so blessed with dancing
And playing the piano or flute to bring
A sense of detachment and peace with life
A way to calm down and release any strife
For my energy then is full of delight
Don't know why, it just feels right
When balance happens real fast
Feeling my whole being relax

To share a secret recipe for mulled cider
Just last month gave the idea to my father
Lo and behold he's now quite the addict
Totally gave up his hot tea habit

But tea's not so bad, one might say
After all I drink it every day
Wake up with my fave, always earl grey
Left from my very long England stay

Like spelling that's also hard to undo
Changed humour or colour by adding the u
Some days my schizophrenia surely shows through
A double life of two countries will do that to you

So their kids turn out how they want them to be
Well, maybe in some fairy tail story
But then Alice through the looking glass
Seems to me she was a disobedient lass
For her to not listen and then really fall
Dreaming of talking cats, mean queens and all
And what about those shrooms in that room
Saying eat me and drink me and you'll grow gargantuan...
So again did she listen to sense when she did
Exactly what those notes said on their lid?
All I can say is she was one very brave kid
And hardly did what her parents wished
Or so I imagine, but then I'm just a fish

Lilacs smell divine
Not like turpentine
So many lilacs appear
After Spring each year
If only Winter would abate
So the flowers can create
Their kind of heaven

I hope it's not too late
Daffodils in their cocoons
About to reveal themselves soon
But the freezing rain is falling again
So they won't open now for sure
Even though it's nearly April
Only the sun is their cure

i] ok, it worked! Onto April's numerous first line last lines. Btw, I don't add the emoticons - that's just a weird glitch pof does on the times when copying and pasting these. Also, gotta say this is so much harder and time consuming to do on an iPad, even with a great keyboard added...missing my laptop, now long gone to the cyber tech graveyard.

First Line, Last Line (Part Deux)
Posted: 4/1/2017 424 AM (with three words edited since original write)...

Giving my patience a test
When my mind is feeling unrest
With my parents' constant distress
Caught in their battle for health
Now it has moved onto wealth
Now that we're past the worst
Their ways seem like a curse
Is it an unnatural thirst
To treat each other with shame
To play the blame game
When it's nobody's fault
My dad losing sight
What seems overnight
My mom losing health
Can't hear and refusing to see
Both are losing their memory
Comes with the terrirory
When you're nearly ninety
Wanting my help
Yet pushing me away
What's a girl to do
When she's not used to
Being treated this way
Actually that's not true
It has always been like this
When they get stressed
They lash out in unhappiness
Destroying any chance of bliss
Yet really they are still great friends
Sixty-six years of union
Committed to the end
Four children, thirteen grandchildren
And eight great grandchildren
Quite the task to create a family reunion
Shows their marriage was quite fruitful
But more than kids it was really useful
Yes, fertility runs in our family
Though we all moved far away globally
But I returned and decided to stay
Knowing we would reach this day
When they'd need my helping
If only I could stop their yelping
That tests my patience constantly
With love sometimes they still will talk
And I can feel their natural spark
What started when they were both so young
Undeniably an incredible lifelong attraction

Posted: 4/1/2017 551 PM...
oh my, got quite personal, leaving a terrible last line...might write a bunch to try and move this to the next page quickly :)

Undeniably an incredible lifelong attraction
Didn't happen with me
Quite the opposite actually
Nine years was the most
Let's drink a toast
To marriages
And baby carriages
To raising a young family
Living the fun kind of crazy

Posted: 4/1/2017 548 PM...

Living the fun kind of crazy
Is really my cuppa tea
Staying up all night if you wish
Get in a boat and try and fish
Watch the full moon on the water
Or take a drive to nowhere
Laughing with your daughter
Knowing your life was never a waste
Not religious, but always had faith
Everything was meant to be
Even those days of insanity
When the mind turned to an alternate place
Flipping far as a means to escape
Coming back where the light is free
That shines in you though you may not see
But brings you back to harmony
Always

Posted: 4/1/2017 515 PM ...
overlapped...will try and patch. fun to be writing with you again

Always
Life has a way
Of beginning each day anew
Somehow overnight you grew
Maybe not consciously
But you feel differently
In the morning

patching....

Ishmael thought Starbuck would have served cider
In the morning he was found drinking something harder
For in biblical days they made their own brew
Refreshing for the desert, though now would never do
With grains of sand they were all used to
Wandering for forty years
With tents and kids and desert gear
Who knew they'd be stuck for eternity
Imagining they were never free
But we could see they were in mutiny
Escaping that Pharoh's artillery
Just like today one can never just be
When someone treats you unfairly

Posted: 4/1/2017 6:09:03 PM ...

When someone treats you unfairly
You can walk away or face them squarely
And stand up for you with compassion
But if they look like they're about to take action
Run away as fast you can
It's far better than facing a ram
Unless you know the art of distraction

Posted: 4/2/2017 133 AM ...

Unless you know the art of distraction
Maybe better the key is protraction
Or even more would be not to say
What you might regret one day
Cuz they say regret is a waste
Along with guilt and shame
Far better to make haste
And never find blame
For no one can win
In a losing game

Posted: 4/2/2017 506 AM ...

In a losing game
One can just refrain
From catching the ball
Watching the whole team fall
Off their precariously high wall
But who's watching them anyway
The one within or could be nobody
Raising them high to where the birds fly
Pedestal of imagination on the stairs to the sky

Posted: 4/2/2017 516 AM...

Pedestal of imagination
On the stairs to .... heaven
Led of course by Led Zeppelin
Still a mystery in so many ways
Lyrics portrayed from lsd days
With melody planted deeply
Forever in our memory
This treasure for sure
In a lifetime where
Music is the cure

Being thankful for the present
Saw a red kite hawk eating pheasant
Driving back just now from work
Hard to drive 'cuz had to look
He was so handsome and graceful
I felt in awe and grateful
Glad that I was driving slow
He swooped right past my window

Posted: 4/3/2017 511 PM ...

He swooped right past my window
Running down the road
Could have been a flasher
Feeling really cold
The rain was pelting down
Completely soaking him
He only had a raincoat on
Blowing in the wind

Posted: 4/3/2017 6:03:01 PM ...

Blowing in the wind
The tatters of a flag
Might have been American
Where many hearts now sag
No place for one 'politician'
If you can call that of him
Just wasting funds and wasting time
Best would be we fire him
Send him to the umployment line

Posted: 4/3/2017 6:06:30 PM ...

Send him to the unemployment line
With a bill for the biggest fine
Make him give back all he has taken
Make him understand he has forsaken
The place he now finds himself to be
With no clue what's good for the country

Posted: 4/3/2017 630 PM ...

With no clue what's good for the country
No idea what's good for humanity
No reason for his insanity
Except a narcissistic personality
Run by his ego since very young
Learned the art of the business con
Sadly he's trying to do us real harm
But what fills me with even more alarm
Is his vice who's next in line
Might have to move away again
Though it's hardly better now in England

Posted: 4/3/2017 654 PM ...

Though it's hardly better now in England
Once they left the European Union
But need to go to my favourite land
To spend time with my children
My grandchildren live there too
So what's a nanna to do
Torn between the two

Posted: 4/3/2017 619 PM ...

Torn between the two
Until I was through
Been this way for years
Left here for a change of gears
Moved to be with my sweetie
Who worked for the bbc
And never wanted to move here
So for nineteen years I stayed there
Raised two children and one more
Moved back here when he was four

Posted: 4/3/2017 638 PM ...

Moved back here when he was four
Really he was five, but what's one more
Then that Summer came my daughter
Who switched that Fall with her brother
And that's how it was for years
My daughter there, my sons here
Until another joined the clan
Then my family did expand
To include two more
The perfect partners
For my son and daughter

Posted: 4/3/2017 631 PM ...

For my son and daughter
Love came beautifully
Knew it was meant to be
Two weddings in my family
One in each country

Posted: 4/3/2017 659 PM ...

One in each country
So it continues endlessly
Family divided internationally
Wages going inevitably
Just to hug personally
Or to laugh and wipe the tears
That tend to flow when not seen for years
It has always been this way
Living so far away
Except the son who stayed
Until he also grew
Moved but not so far
Can visit with a car

Posted: 4/3/2017 653 PM ...

Can visit with a car
And wish upon a star
One day my whole family
Lives again in one country
Especially my grandbabies
Move much closer to me
Miraculously

Posted: 4/3/2017 641 PM ...

Miraculously
Nearly got to the bottom of the page
Never been much of a sage
Took a lot to keep writing
To try and move it down
Might have caused a frown
Sure broke the one post rule
Should go back to school

Posted: 4/3/2017 633 PM ...

Should go back to school
Could be really cool
Might be fun to learn
Increase what I earn
If I finished my degree
But now it costs excessively
Wouldn't you agree?

[i[next page, never gives date or time with the first post...another strange glitch with pof :) ....

Wouldn't you agree
Been writing excessively
Having fun with a poem
Hidden and not open
Feeling relieved
Nothing's believed

Posted: 4/4/2017 924 AM ...

Literally true...or not...let me please explain
It's not my thread, not really dear Ed
I was only asked to start it again
When the previous one was put to bed
In the days when this forum used
Moderators to enforce the rules....

Seems it was a pof poetry tradition
And here it is so long again
Third time round to be true
Should have said 'part trios', not deux
Little memory from French in high school
Spanish would have been more useful....

The pick a line thread was my idea
Started in another place
Someone there brought it here
Glad it was then in this space
Since that time that site went duff
Not enough people writing their stuff...

So I agree my friend
Let the past end
Each day does start anew
Yet sometimes when I write
Brings it into near sight
What still lingers in my view

The peanuts are free
Along with the cashews
Nuts are on sale
Buy two for one specials
Or maybe make that three
Growing on the crazy tree
No more can one make sense
Who the hell is that president
Has absolutely no regard
Dare I say he's a ...tard
Fill that in any which way
Don't do what stupid say
Really I'd rather run away
But where to go is the question
Until the next election
Keeping things from imploding more
It's wise to stay aware on this shore
Yes, peanuts are for free
Just don't eat too many

Posted: 4/9/2017 641 AM ...

Just don't eat too many
Cuz we're all becoming a casualty
Not just in this country
But globally
The tidal wave is now
A Tsunami

Posted: 4/11/2017 628 PM ...

To be truly pardoned
Nothing to forgive
If one can be saintly
Understanding fully
The art of empathy
Reaching deep within
To find compassion
Even in the shadow of addiction
Or when tortured with affliction
It's the human condition

Nothing so nice as a hand to hold
Much better than a hand to scold
Naughty kids doing naughty things
Much nicer the hand with a heart that brings
Love in its full embrace and
Twinkling eyes on a smiling face

We won't be here to see if they saw the light
We won't be here to see if they survived the night
We won't know if this crazy world turned out all right

While we watch from above the bright full moon
All will grow quiet in this small writing room
So appreciate life for it will end maybe soon

Or perhaps it will last but we'll be long past
By the perpetual poison we continue to blast
Humanity's fate has surely been cast

Posted: 4/18/2017 420 PM ...

I hope I'm still here waiting for the robin's call
To still be alive with grace and not fall
At their feet in mercy and having to crawl
Begging for a piece of peace and not end it all

I hope fear does not win and destroy everything
Doing her bidding with a venomous poison
So easy to invade in this all consuming age
Is it finally time we leap off the stage?

Posted: 4/19/2017 323 AM ...

Loving life is the only way to go
To let the mind shine not needing to know
To feel the heart expand and grow
To move the body freely in full flow
Like a river carrying us without a tow
We are the divine spark that lights up this show
Everything is from the hawk to the doe
Even the weeds that forever grow

What do you do when you can see
A lifetime's union breaking down irrevocably
Hopefully it's temporary
Or a brief emergency
But a bandaid won't do
Maybe I could use super glue
But this break is emotional
Now they made it through
The physical ordeal
Yet the deterioration is real
And is only going to increase
With aging and disease
So now they have to face
Their deeper mistake
Where they lost their faith
In finding a way to say
I can no longer be this way
To honestly see
A new way to be
How can you do it
When you're both nearly ninety?

4:20 am is the place to be free
Perhaps it's serendipity
That magic number we know so long
Started collecting again the water bong
But then all of sudden out of the blue
What had been a companion no longer felt true
Was it a case of a deeper unrest
Or the added stress of a health helping quest?
For my parents have been so very ill
Even 420 could not help me chill
With them needing me to keep them healthy
And extend their lives beyond therapy

Posted: 3/25/2017 805 PM ...

I unchained my spirit
Only I could lift it
From the tendrils of his energy
That were suffocating me
Then on New Year's Eve
Felt me detaching completely
Finally I was once again free
No longer needing his company

Good things to say, maybe cheeky, never mean
With hearth or home not always clean
A great British term - cheekiness is good
Like mischievously naughty it's understood
Been back in the States now for some time
Living life and write an occasional rhyme
Peeked in here yesterday to see
Is there any one left, anybody?
Found a woman and two men
Becoming friends with poetic passion

Posted: 3/27/2017 716 PM ...

Before I lose it
Just gotta choose it
Peace at the end of the day
Don't have much now to say
Exhaustion will have its way
Or risk health starting to sway
Like an old piano past its best
Could throw it out or request
Help with passing these tests
Then trust it will come near
Out of the blue just appear
With hope loud and clear
Letting go of your fear
Of this amazing year
Just gotta choose it
Before I lose it

Posted: 3/28/2017 932 PM ...

Only after consulting the book of I Ching
Spirit says let go of everything
Let go of all trouble and fear that was mounting
Let go of the strain so severe but who's counting
Lost my coins I once used to throw
Not to worry, just let it go
For all that is true will return to you
Especially karma if it's not through
Until you let go of identity
Then finally you'll really be free

Posted: 3/28/2017 925 PM ...
ahh, writing same time:) ok, patching together our last two lines

The next day you'll blame it all on the weed
Then finally you'll really be free
Or not as the case might actually be
Was it the smoke or just one last toke
That led you back to play with me

Posted: 3/30/2017 743 PM ...

Alone now I'll live
To my cat I will give
All my assets whatever they be
No, not really, have hardly any materially
For when I'm gone won't be necessary

But my children I'll love for eternity
With my finding maturity, maybe
Can't believe I'm a grandmummy
And how did my kids grow up so consciously
With babies smart, fun and wonderfully crazy

Had my days in couple forays
And once or twice unconventional ways
So learned how to be with another
But to align all the time is not like fine wine
With age it just seems to smother

Treasure hunts are always fun
Easter time there are a ton
Finding eggs here made of plastic
Seems to me that's sortof tragic
In a world that knows it's here for good
Why don't we do like Robin Hood
And give from the rich to those who are poor
Wouldn't that fix what we're fighting for
Except for those who's faith is a curse
In the name of God they treat others the worse
Displacing and murdering oh so many
How can we be like this in the 21st century?
Course we know it's really all about money
And how much oil is in that country

Posted: 4/6/2017 134 PM ...

With golden streets and gem stone walls
Sounds like a magical place
Where there's no disgrace
And they catch you if you fall...

The water is clean and safe for all
The air is pollution free
Here everyone is really friendly
With flowers and seats beneath each tree...

No one wants to steal the gems
But let's them be in their total beauty
Finally there's no need for greed
For we discontinued money

Why writing words brings me serenity
In this world of great love in calamity
Surrendering to that part of the mind
Where peace appears and there's no time
When one can be, letting thoughts run free
Like a river in gentle flow and harmony

Going thirty miles an hour in the fast lane
Round here honestly it might get you rammed
By the aggressive driver right up your tail
Never fast enough it feels, even in hail

Patience is a virtue they say
It comes and goes, depends on the day
Sometimes it's me when late for work
Often I pull over to let them pass, the jerk

Where did they learn to drive, I ask
Even on fast roads, they're right up my ass
And I don't drive slow, but I do know
Where the cops will suddenly show

Posted: 4/11/2017 718 AM ...

There is no issue being early or late
They say time is just an imagined state
To put things in order so we create
A sense of chronology or perhaps it's fate
To live by the clock and the calendar date

Like a ball and chain we drag through our lives
Protecting ourselves from our aging eyes
Believing the media's constant lies
That youth is the truth and old we despise
Until you find it's a fantastic surprise

Growing old is so fun
When you break the illusion
Sure you take care in the sun
But there's no more confusion
It's all good, even a life of seclusion

Concentrates of astronomical gifts
If only we could heal the earth bound rifts
Tearing us apart from the center to the edge
Escaping into space the fear and the dread
That we are here in the middle of nowhere
Dangling on a finely tuned piece of thread
We bow down to life and dishonour the dead
Yet a mountain of mistakes shows in our wake
Creating more poison with our greed to take

Posted: 4/16/2017 725 AM ...

Once you choose to let the light in
Was just writing of this while haiku'ing
The cracks may feel like we are broken
But that is how we can once again open
Breaking our shells we create to escape
Not much will get in or out if there's hate
Like a warm gentle breeze upon a calm lake
The light is the gate from our most loving state

Posted: 4/17/2017 751 AM ...

What are we going to do next?
Maybe decide to put a hex
On all those in power tearing us apart
Yes, I'm going to use it - please have a heart
This planet is small and too close to the edge
On the brink with the stink of the grime and the sledge
While hedge funds keep growing beyond all control
And the poor keep on paying to the giant troll

You're just a slave
'Knockin' on heaven's door'
Needing a handout 'cuz so poor
Some choosing to keep using
To live just one day more
In a world so divided
Need a miracle to get united
Can't go on this way
Or what are we living for?

Posted: 4/19/2017 723 AM ...

Just cruising through
It's all up to you
How we use the throttle
Some turn to the bottle
Others go to the land
Tending with the love of their hand
Some set sail to be really free
Feeling the heart of the sea
All cradled in the arms of earth
Our mother here from before birth

Hidden secrets that like to hide
No more I say will I abide
My own or others telling of lies
Like once I did when I was stuck
Getting the blame and plain outta luck
Making myself a sitting duck
But when quite young the secrets were real
Though saved my soul it was still a big deal

Posted: 4/1/2017 814 AM ... took one line, made it two

Don't tie the knot
The tighter you tie
The harder to undo

Don't tie the knot
It's all up to you
But that way of life
Happy it's through

Some one else was already crowned
The queen sitting in her nativity scene
Wondering where her life had been
Spent wearing a mask with a hip flask
When she was born her life was cast
No choice she had or it would be bad
Those who escaped came to a sad fate
Or stay and live in an imprisoned state

It happens every single day
The sun will shine before it turns grey

Spring had sprung, or so I thought
But the daffodils will not yet bloom
Perhaps it's a universal plot
To keep on writing in this room

Let him have his temper tantrum
Followed by the little boy pout
I honestly can't stand him

Lost in the maze of his craze
Thinking he's a celebrity
Just wants a bunch of praise
For his dangerous stupidity

For his dangerous stupidity
The world's become a casualty
Like the wind spreading cross the country
Now a butterfly's flight rippling globally
It's clear we're all in trouble here
The poison spreading worldwide
No one is safe with these politics in place
No place to run and hide

No place to run and hide
With this great divide
Atrocities felt globally
Where is the humanity
Lost in the cost of greed
Lost in the frost we feed
Never stopping to see
We are what we breathe

Can't we just all do a group hug instead
Yes!! says this fish, it's her greatest wish
Smiling at the line that you hear all the time
No seriously, could the world really stop and just be
Letting our hugs lead to something extraordinary
It's better than most things that feed the heart
At least it brings together and not tear apart
The chance to unite and make a fresh start

Shipped them all away to the local go mart
Where they are doomed to walk with their shopping cart
Forever imprisoned to shop 'til they drop
Addicted to their favourite sport and really can't stop

Their homes and cars are filled to the brim
Just because that voice keeps calling them
To keep on buying beyond rhyme or reason
While the debt keeps mounting, but to stop would be treason

Summer's round the corner looming
Even daffodils are perfuming
Wafting from the garden
Earth's heart got a jump start
This beautiful season
Being happy for no reason
Gratitude filling up
The compassion cup

Cause I live in such a beautiful place
Fills me each day with a deeper grace
Hearing the ocean coming home at night
Seeing the red kite hawks' frequent flight
Or the deer so near not warped with fear
From those that rarely hunt around here
On this patch of land surrounded by sea
Where I returned with my son to be free

My true self feels a bit absurd
Wandering these empty halls

Once overflowing with words

Hitchcock

I was out to catch a theif
not thinking I had the wrong man
for there was a shadow of doubt
but I was the man who knew too much
so I headed north by north west

I felt I was being followed though just strangers on a train
one woman stood out ,I had suspicion
she looked notorious
I followed her hoping she was not a psycho
looking threw the rear window
there was a rope and torn curtain
opening the door I confess I knew I had no lifeboat
inside there was a stairway with 39 steps

as I moved slowly up she apeared and said her name was Marnie
but just stood there like she had stagefright
now the trouble with Harry
I was getting vertigo
feeling I would end up in the family plot
I said this is for the birds
grabing the rail I looked up and
the lady vanishes

^ Brillant. Thank you so much for sharing this here. Very clever... and makes sense too! Love it.

Reminded me once upon a time would sometimes write on a thread here called 'The Train Journey'.
Sharing something from those days.... like walking through a maze back in time.

The Train Journey......Midnight Special...

carried....

like a baby
she snuggled in
lifted upon the train
to return from whence she came

sleeping like a child
a murmer just escaped
dreams taking her far away
perhaps it is all fate

waking still so dreamy
she floated down the train
found herself return
to the place it all began

the dome still so magestic
with stars and sky above
the music man still playing
in this lounge of love

moonlight fills the air
spotlights a special pair
seems been dancing here
nowhere and forever

she takes her place with him
filling with compassion
two now move as one
dome lounge re-awoken

one more....

The Train Journey...
Posted: 8/23/2009 5:35:18 AM

an impasse
time collapse
we move into darkness
through the tunnel
deep within the mountain
no more light coming
from the heavenly fountain
sitting under the dome
darkness
all alone
hearing a moan
i rise to try and find
who is hurt
but i am blind
in the darkness
feel i am losing my mind
suddenly
we fly out of night
now blinded by the light
streaming down on me
moving so fast
all thoughts collapse
feeling the sway of the train
but there is that moan again
as my eyes and body strain to see
the moan instead is coming towards me
surprisingly it's not scary
but energy that has long time loved me
coming to hold me
and even to scold me
for not listening or hearing them
asking for help so often
and all along they've been right here
but in the light I let in distraction
letting illusion affect my vision
changing my course of right action
putting my Self in spiritual traction
but here in the darkness
this energy found me
and ever so lovingly
I released the parts of me
that did not feel heavenly
as the light held me closely
found in the time collapse
an impasse

just found again, written 12/7/2012.....valid now.

a word
held in the void
before time started to define
and confine us....

before presence
fell by the wayside
and lies started to arrive
as a way for us to survive...

now within everything
as it has all ways been
yin and yang in action
a perfect juxtaposition....

a balancing act
of the most intricate connection
beyond the confines of our mind
with occasional glimpses sometime...

of a vague memory
or re-member-ing
what has always been found
in the silence that's unbound

We write in the night
As we silently type
Images shed light
No wrong or right
Just an appetite
For word delight
Letting all fright
Vanish from sight

Cinquain on healing...in three parts

Healers
Are everywhere
All sensitive feelers
Found in the heart of everyone
Human

Human
Animals too
Plants and rocks all heal too
Coming from our great mother earth
We heal

We heal
Through each other
Through all the elements
Awakening divine spirit
In all

From first line, last line and tweaked this morning....

Written 7th May before things got even crazier around here...

Resist and unite is all we can do
Hope a few more will now get a clue
Pay closer attention to who we elect
It's up to us to know who we select
For it's all downhill on this crazy plane
In a world this near to going insane
But mental health will also be cut
Might pay for health by becoming a slut
Of course then they will just pretend
It's another pre-existing condition

Procrastinating getting more work done this morning....looking back through some writings from past years here....
Found this one about a wonderful dog named Storm....

Written on the thread 'I don't care what you write......'

whenever I have rescued a cat or dog
it seems really they have rescued me.
once I saved a huskie, but only temporarily
which saddened me greatly
he was so handsome and magestic
rarely been out of a kennel
mostly moved from one to another
life in a kind of straight jacket
in his eyes you could see he was keeping score
but still loving and forgiving
as animals do so completely
our time together was much too brief
yet it was when I rescued him
I came to realize unbelievably
for the first time in his life I let him run free
and it was the most magical sight to see
on the beach he'd fly with glee
racing around and around
his feet barely touching the ground
and I'd be mesmerized and filled with awe
to see him run so exquisitely
oh, our time together was so special that huskie and me
for with his freedom being there with him at the ocean
it was really the gift of freedom he gave me

Summer is passing
Feel like I'm fasting
Winter seems far away
Time to remember to play
Feeling gratitude for one's life
Despite the almost constant strife
When did I lose the ability to choose
Though have freedom and never did use
When did I become enslaved to just work
Knowing to keep this up I might go beserk

Forging bonds now breaking
Threats to allies he's forsaking
Years of delicate webs creating
A bully that feeds on fake praise
Destroying all the good 'ole days
When one could put the news on
And not feel an increasing alarm
We might really come to harm
With this rising political craze

extended poem from 'first line, last line'... 4th, 6h, and 8th lines are not mine

2018
A new year
Confronting fear
United we stand
On sacred land
Diversity strong
Where all belong
Our very best
Will stand the test
Of time and space
Ready to face
A brand new day
With shades of grey
Still lingering...

So follow the money and see where it goes
Back to the land where no one overthrows
The one named putin we all know his name
He's the favourite supporter destroying our game
He's smart in his overly confident vain
Colluding with you know who all the same
It's not hard to see it's the laundry of money
In exchange for a whole bunch now under scrutiny
Don't think it's long before there'll be mutiny
The force is strong in this entire country
But divided we stand not united we be
Except for so many are done with 'ole trumpy

did some small improvements to poem above...

Follow the money and see where it flows
Back to the land where no one overthrows
The one called putin we all know his name
He's the favourite usurper destroying our game

He's smart in his overly confident vain
Colluding with you know who all the same
It's not hard to see it's the laundry of money
In exchange for a whole bunch now under scrutiny

Don't think it's long before there'll be mutiny

Oh C, what are we gonna do?
It seems like ages before his stint will be through
I try and stay positive each and every day
But that man with his crazy plan gets in my way
Thank god now the kids are having their say
And will be out in numbers on voting day
Yet shame on the adults so controlled by the nra

Sharing the burden of unknown friends
Feeling the power a loving heart sends
When seeing the loss of lives that end
Will take a long time for them to mend

Doesn't feel right tonight to write in rhyme
Keep hearing the words it's not the right time
But we really have had enough of this now
Time to stop shooting us, but how?

Time to remember how much we care
Time to admit how much these guns scare
Time to see the good in humanity
Time to really stop this finally

Forgot to say post above was from a pick a line here, so first line was not mine.
Just this morning a creative writing thread caught my eye and thought I'd have a try called 6 word memoirs.

She woke up a year older.

I never said I could write.

Wishing for unity in this country.

Wow. Just realized it's been just over 10 years since coming back this time! When did that happen?
Anyway, here's one I found again written here 11.11.11 with a few small edits this evening.

I'd like to be an adult
perhaps for just one day
to know what I was doing
to know just what to say
to see the world through grown-up eyes
to know the ones in full disguise
to grow beyond my humble size
with gently loving grown-up guys

I'd like to be an adult
perhaps for just one day
to have a bit of wisdom
in that soulful sacred way
to remember all there is in this vast and sacred sea
to know we share this journey for all eternity
and if not for loving energy
none of this would be

After awhile she returned with a smile
Trying to write this Sunday night
Feeling the heart of a country depart
From knowing what's wrong and what's right
Is there really no end in sight
When bombers attack those praying today
How can we play with so many slayed
While in the big apple there's an Easter parade
Not sure if there's hope with such a large scope
Of imbalance running around the world
Keeping us caught where we can't unfurl
Still wishing for a new day to dawn
But deep inside I can feel an alarm
Not able to stop no matter what I do
Fearing this world really hasn't a clue
