There are two paddles we will be doing.one is a rough and ready one with a lot of rapids(if you want to call them rapids) on Saturday and on Sunday we will be doing another one and that one is a real laid back float.I would not worry about a paddle mate there are some that might be looking to paddle with some one.

OK then Dena, you have your boat all booked, and your officially hired as beertender, lookout, and navigator.
I'll be driving in Friday, and find you somewhere around the camp that afternoon or evening, and we'll work out the detail from there, k? I'll bring life jackets & paddles, even though the seat you'll be in is more of a first class booking (free drinks & no paddling required) than coach(pretzals & water only), lol.
Actually, I kind of lied about the beer tending too. To balance the boat, I put the cooler behind my center seat, oooops.
However, the lookout parts very much for real. Since you'll be in the front of the boat, blocking my view, if we suddenly find ourselves about to go over the hundred foot waterfall and you didn't warn me, it'll all be on you,........ literally, ...... girl, lmao .
Sorry, just teasing. That waterfall's not an inch over a 40 foot drop . hehehe.
See you all on Friday night.

OK, if no one else has already dibbs'd watermelon, then I'll be hauling one in for the pot luck on Sat.
Someone else will have to bring the hypo & vodka if you want it "spiced" up, lol.
See ya'll next Friday night.
If anyone is looking for a good item to bring for the pot luck, how about a large bottle of Pepsid Complete? Hey, don't laugh, it works, especially with rum or vodka

WELL AT THIS TIME NEXT WEEK WE SHOULD BE AT THE PUT IN ON THE RIVER .I HAVE BEEN MONITERING THE RIVER RIGHT NOW THE RIVER IS VERY HIGH FROM THE STORMS THAT ROLLED THRU LAST WEEK.IS AT 1500 CUBIC FEET PER SECOND THAT IS WAY TOO HIGH FOR THE INEXPERIANCE PADDLER.BUT SINCE THEY HAVE NOT HAD THE BIG THUNDER STORM THAT CAME THRU MISSOURI LAST NIGHT.SO THE RIVER HAS BEEN DROPPING WHEN I CHECKED OUT THE RIVER ON WENDSDAY NIGHT AFTER ALL THE STORMS ROLLER THRU IT WAS AT 1880CFS AND IT HAS BEEN DROPPING EVER SINCE IT SHOULD BE DOWN TO AROUND 1100CFS BY THURSDAY MORNING AND THAT IS A PERFECT LEVEL FOR PADDLEN THAT WAS ABOUT THE LEVEL IT WAS FOR LAST JUNE'S FLOAT IN ABOUT A HOUR FROM NOW I AM GOING TO CALL TWIN BRIDGE'S TO COMFERM MY RESERVATIONS AND SEE HOW MANY ARE REALLY COMING.THERE ARE 14 SIGNED UP AND 3 FROM MY CLUB THAT I BELONG TOO.I EXPECT 16 TO 18 PEOPLE COMING AND THAT IS GOOD NOT TOO BIG AND NOT TOO SMALL.I THINK LAST JUNE WE HAD 16 ALL SO BUT I'M NOT SURE.

Well one more river report.Right now as of 1:30am the river is flowing at 1130 cfs.still very good level I am hoping that it will hold at this level for the next few days but it will not.it will be under 1000 cfs for the paddle might be around 800 to 900 about what it was last June's fish float no draging no walking.I confermed mt resevation this morning and the was only 7 confermed.I know of 3 that are staying in a cabin that are with us but not fishie's(part of one of the clubs I belong to) plus I know of 3 more that are day tripers. So I think that ther will be only 13 of us thats cool less I have to keep a eye on ha ha.I am going to the market soon to get a couple of box's to make signs with.Since I might not be there when some of you show up.Look for my van mose of you remember what it looks like but it's a white Dodge Ram Van and I will have a blue dinning canopy over the side of it.So we will not be so spread out creeping into other site not ours.

OK, I can tell the float's getting close, cuz the living rooms fill of camping gear, and the canoe is in the garage, making the Subaru park in the driveway, lol.
I'm planning on leaving Topeka, early Friday morning,... hopefully early enough to get through KC ahead of rush hour traffic, which should put me into camp sometime close to noon Friday. Any suggestions for spiking the watermelon anyone?
Dena, sorry girl, but I've added one new dute to your position of "front seat" in our boat. You'll also be handling my new, waterproof digital camera, so, sinc eyou won't need to do any paddling, you'll be expected to get tons of good pictures of the whole group. Not to worry, I'll have it tied to the boat, it's totally waterproof, and it floats .
However, because of your added dutyies, I've also arranged a bonus...... you now have a choice to two seats to pick from to sit in the front of the canoe. Personally, I recommend the padded rocking chair, with the heavy padded cusions, adjustable backrest, and removable, outdoor lawn chair cusion. Oh ya, we be cruzing, lol

LMAO. Dena in theory, it could hold 3, light people. But, one would have to sit facing backwards, and we'd have to jetison the coolers . Soooo, the short answer is, no way darlin, lol. Is she a good swimmer? If she can ride the jettisoned cooler thru the rapids, she will win a big ole belt buckle .

That said, if the river level holds at what Bryan observed today, this float will be a cakewalk. Nothing but blue skies, crystal clear, shallow water, water fights, and plenty of gravel bars to stop at, and just kick back, relax, and take it all in.
Oh ya, I'm bringing the large bore, mega water blaster, so it'll be your job to man the guns, and repel all boarders, lol. Aye maties,..... but there's always room for Captain Morgan.
