Celtics deserve credit for dominating the league those years, but like everything else related, comparisons between then and now is mostly mental diarrhea.

oh, you know me.... i'll always keep hatin on the lakers. never liked them, never will. I can't stand looking at those ugly yellow and purple flags on every car here in so cal. plus, the colors are ugly and disgusting.

I have to say that being a fan of a particular teem Rocks! but the fact that teams change players so much means that all the players in your team can be in a different team in 1 or 2 years, so then, where is really your team?
I think loyalty is important, but a team is made by the member in it, and if they constantly change, then who are you loyal to? the team's brand?
Either way, regardless on how some players behave (good or bad), I have come to like how they play if they put the effort to be Great.
I enjoy watching a good basketball game, so, I like to watch the teams that give their 110 %!

I don't know, just like a Yankee fan would once put it....At least the Celtics holds the most championships. And don't give me that 17/15 crap.

Who was that guy who tried to compare the titles of the Lakers to the Celtics? I thought that was Jerry Buss. Anyway, why would someone after winning a championship announce such a thing to the fans. Let it be a jinx because I thought that it was really stupid. I'm not trying to take anything away from the Lakers because they deserve it, but such a dumb statement to make...That's just my opinion.

Lets not forget , the celtics OWNED the lakers back in the day...made them there personal ****...Isnt like half of the celtics championships against the lakers?...

anyway.....I know they never beat them in the 60's....

congrats to the lakers though, it must be nice to have the best player on the planet on your team...

I didn't see that... actually missed the parade and all that... But sounds like what you were saying is that the Lakers were using Boston as a bench mark... something to aspire to. I believe every club wants to be the best... you measure yourself with the team that has the best record.

I am a lakers fan... Big time... as well as USC football.... But I don't hate any team and actually admire what the Celtics have achieved.

KG gets healthy, I'm sure Boston will be a contender next year in the east, just like I know LA needs to keep Ariza and Odom to maintain their ability to get back... Denver, Portland, Houston.... not to mention a healthy Spurs.... It will be another tough western conference.

Next year could be another win for either LA or Boston... either closing that gap... or widening it again. I'm sure there will be a lot of teams who feel differently. Denver, Magic, Cleveland....

But it is a fun side challenge for the Lakers to catch Boston.

It's going to be very interesting to see what Cleavland does this summer. I think Orlando proved that, as great as LeBron is, he does need help and you can't surround him with just anyone.

I get on Danny Ferry's case all the time on other forums, because I really believe he has no idea what he's doing. He's just randomly throwing things at the wall. Out of the 15 players on the Cavs' roster, maybe 3 or 4 of them actually have complimentary skillsets. The rest are just awkward tack ons, and the lack of balance and mesh got exposed by Orlando in the ECF.

Auerbach was the legendary Celtics coach in the 50's and 60's. lol. He won 9 titles as a coach and then another 7 as the general manager. So total, Auerbach won 16 championships. But I think that even though Jackson has won more titles as a coach then Auerbach, Auerbach was the better coach. Yes, while there were less teams back then, there also weren't such things as a general manager and scouts. Auerbach was coach plus in his free time, he also served as a scout at high school and college games, and was general manager. I think if you brought Jackson back to that time and compared them in the same era, Auerbach would be comfortable and do well, whereas Jackson would wonder where his scouts and Mitch went, and not do as well. What does anybody else think?

I'm a fan of NBA basketball and like to watch competitive games. Although, I will admit I'm not the biggest Laker fan because of NBC always mentioning them on all their games whether they are involved in the game or not. I also have a hard time watching their games because it never seems like a fairly called game and they win more based on the fact the officials favor Kobe, but that's not really their fault.

You know what sucks about living in N. California, you're force fed these teams that suck like the Kings, Raiders and Niners. Well, I'm still hoping maybe the Niners will matter soon. The Kings and Raiders are just poorly managed, to put it in a nice way. They suck swamp donkey balls to be blunt.
