Cardio: HIIT 60m/week, aerobic 90-180m/week (I hate cardio, I truly hate cardio...)

Adds up to 10-11 hours per week. I need to get a life...

2 or maybe 3 x 40 minute high intensity weight sessions a week

of which maybe 5 or 10 minutes is actually on the weights, the rest is spotting others, moving between stations..

so in reality - 15-30 minutes of effort a week!

Depends on my ability to afford the food required...

backing off resistance lately as a result of tight funding but...

4 1-1/2 hour cardio hits a week combining swimming/cycling..

6 30 minute cardio/

5 20 minute cardio

2-3 1 hour long resistance training

so around 12 hours aweek.....

20 minutes of weights most mornings (say 3 - 4) = 60-80 min.
Swim 2x per week @ 50 min = 100 min
1-2x bike workouts @ 15 miles = 45-90 min
3 mile run 0-2x /week @ 22 min = 0- 44 min.

That’s 205-314 minutes each week. a/k/a 3 hours 25 minutes or more. Which is more than I would have guessed. I need to back off. Don’t want to overtrain you know.

I read this question and thought...I don't have a clue.
I've never worked out in a gym. I do go and use the racquet ball court, the amount of time I play varies. It's not busy so we usually just keep playing until we are ready to drop.

I've always enjoyed playing, such as skiing, snow shoeing, hiking etc. instead of exercising and the time just flies by.

There is no universal rule, it depends on your health and your current fitness level. If you're not used to exercising, find what's comfortable for you and gradually adjust your body to working out. You should also plan your exercises accordingly to your goal, whether it's to lose fat or gain stamina. I always recommend walking as a startup exercise, it's not very demanding (good for heart and lungs, easy on joints), but if you gradually go from slow walking through marching to powerwalking with resistance (small dumbbells or ankle/wrist weights), for 30-45m 3-4 times a week, you should get in good shape in 4-6 weeks and you can start more advanced training. Would also recommend getting a heart rate monitor and learn about heart rate zones, it's not a necessity, but it helps a lot when trying to get in shape. Good luck!

I spend thirty minutes per day, 7 days a wee. Athat comes to 210 minutes per week. I imagine that will fall on the low side, but then I am 79. It might be interesting to compare by age groups.

About 2 hours. I've only been going to the gym around 2 days out of the week for a while and work out about an hour each time. I'm also 10 to 20lbs overweight, mostly the belly, but you can't see that in my pictures lol. I should be around 170 or 175, not 190.

Usually 45 minutes 6 days a week. I know 45 minutes doesnt seem like alot of time but having worked out for over 10 years i can tell you its the intensity that you train with that matters not so much the time. As an example ive personally worked out as little as 30 min with a very high intensity and been exhausted. Intensity is the name of the game
