Well, wantasmart1, I am thinking that you not being counted as a resident in your in the particular congressional district that you live is a great idea.
Less representation for you and yours equals more for me.
Thanks in advance...

As a Liberal I would expect that... I was lost once also...

Anyway -- some more humor... BTW -- how is it Liberals have no sense of humor.. My last joke was a joke.... a joke usually has an element of truth mixed with humor.. that is all it was -- a joke...

Surprised some of you did not post each birthday for me...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party .

After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room.

Those who remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, 'My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel.
He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday.'

The second guy said, 'Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday.'

The third man said: 'Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his
birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion.'

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: 'What are all the congratulations for?'

One of the three said: 'We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons. ..What about your son?'

The fourth man replied: 'My son is a flaming queer and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a gay nightclub.'

The three friends said: 'What a shame... what a disappointment.'

The fourth man replied: 'No, I'm not ashamed. He hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes-Benz from his three boyfriends

I like to think there is nothing this fool will do to destroy America, because I trust real Americans can overcome this, fight back, and get our country back....

Yet, from the time Klinton got elected and then re-elected, I am losing hope on the electorate...

Socialists YEARS ago realized they could destroy us from within, and went right after our education system...

You can see by most of the postings here, they were successful...

Liberals control our education system and our courts.. they have done a pretty good job of destroying this nation....

YET - we will overcome...

If someone could stop drooling vitriolic bias for a minute could you be so kind as to show me any documentation that any fraudlent registrations from Acorn resulted in fraudulent votes?

OP, sometimes any of us can get lost within unsubstnatiatedpartisan bias, whatever side of the aisle we favor. With all due respect Do your children anad everyone a favor and

"Think! It's very patriotic."

All of these posts, yet nothing meaningful. How does an oganization become corrupt? By it's leadership. So far, I have not seen anything that came from the top that directed anyone to make up names and commit fraud. All I have seen so far is that a few of their hired workers got lazy and made up names because it's easier than going door-to-door.

Big freaking deal.

Yet those *cough, cough* dedicated Fox News watchers are being misinformed on a daily basis. Love the barbie doll show that Glenn Beck put on for your folks. I guess he doesn't think you're intelligent enough for words, you need doll props to "understand" how corrupt ACORN is. It's sad, and completely pathetic.

Changing the subject a bit, did any of you know that the Catholic religion encourages molestation? All of those priests caught doing horrible things. Talk about a corrupt religion!

Don't let facts get in your way...

Fox News now has more viewers then CNN and MSNBC combined...

Your main stations in the US CBS.ABCBS and NBCBS are falling rapidly in viewers while Fox News climbs up the ladder...

Why?

May be the only station that finally is fair and balanced...

Liberals call it Conservative TV... I love that... They balance there commentators from Lib to Conservative and most shows give speakers from both parties to argue issues...

The reason the station is taking off - is when you hear a LIBERAL and a CONSERVATIVE discuss the same issue, the Liberal argument looks as dumb as it is...

It is the bias that actually woke me up to how I was being fooled as a Democrat...

I realized I was being lied to, and I did not like it...

More taxes do not help the economy...

Govt run health care will destroy it....

Reducing our military makes us weak as a nation...

Pretty simple... Too simple though for Liberals...

Or maybe... just maybe... people enjoy trainwreck news?

Springer was the top rated talk show for a long time. It wasn't because of the show's intelligence. ;-)

Ratings mean**** and I don't need to to know numbers to justify if something is good or not. All I do is watch and tune out when I figure out that what I'm watching is complete and utter crap.

OK, facts are good. Let's look at your facts.

Fox News now has more viewers then CNN and MSNBC combined...

Statistics will show this, which I don't see any.

Your main stations in the US CBS.ABCBS and NBCBS are falling rapidly in viewers while Fox News climbs up the ladder...

Well, there could be several reasons behind this. First, I'd like to see the statistics, but I would suggest that since it is in the off part of the year and there aren't any new shows, that would explain this.

Why?

May be the only station that finally is fair and balanced...

No station is completely fair and balanced because all stations are run by and require humans for their stations to operate and be on air-persona, and no human, no matter what, is completely unbiased.

Liberals call it Conservative TV... I love that... They balance there commentators from Lib to Conservative and most shows give speakers from both parties to argue issues...

Other stations do this as well. I've seen Conservative pundits on CNN and MSNBC. Oh, and Conservatives call MSNBC and CNN Liberal TV. But yet they do the same thing.

The reason the station is taking off - is when you hear a LIBERAL and a CONSERVATIVE discuss the same issue, the Liberal argument looks as dumb as it is...

Well, that's completely subjective. I have had several discussions with Libeals and Conservatives and I find both of them have very well reasoned arguments and both make very valid points.

It is the bias that actually woke me up to how I was being fooled as a Democrat...

Congratulations, would you like a cookie?

I realized I was being lied to, and I did not like it...

By whom? I doubt you were being lied to. My guess is that you just accepted the facts as you were told without doing some further research on your own. Quite possibly the same reason why you are currently claiming Fox News as the Messiah. In the political world, things are not black and white. As the old saying goes, there are three sides to ever issue, the liberal side, the conservative side, and the Truth.

More taxes do not help the economy...

While I agree with you in theory, taxes do go towards those government programs which we rely upon. Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.

Govt run health care will destroy it....

Not necessarily. The government runs lots of things and has yet to destroy those.

Reducing our military makes us weak as a nation...

But yet the Government runs the military, but you want more military spending? Wait, according to your previous arguments, taxes destroy the economy, but yet we need them for the military, which is run by the government, so obviously the military has been destroyed.

Pretty simple... Too simple though for Liberals...

Politics really isn't as simple as you may think it is. If you really want an interesting comparison into government, I would suggest reading Machiavelli and Camus and compare and contrast them. I'd also suggest reading Aristotle, Plato, Hobbes, and several other political theorists. It's pretty gray all the way around.

And all of this is coming from a conservative, btw.

She may have had trash 4 months ago, but in the end...the OP was right. ACORN now being defunded by the Federal Government due to...hmm...certainly not their fair and balanced procedures or day-to-day pimping for both parties, eh? You crack me up, dancecard...I understand your frustration with your party and your man, though. It's even starting to show on someone as (typically) calm and confident as yourself.

Lets talk,.... "Obama Gates" ?

I hate Politics,...I hate Politicians, in general.

Just the fact, that our President,...lets say,.....any US President,...would "BOW DOWN"
to an Arab "King",..is a shame,...a SHAME !

How soon does people forget the horriable memory of the 9 Israeli Olympians murdered by Palestinians.

And our President,..any President, bows down to their King?

I dont think so.

I wish this would open the Door, for all of the things I feel our President has done, to dishonor America, Americian Citizens, and what were supposed to stand for.

Please explain how Acorn is the fault of Obama, check the dates please,Acorn was way before Obama.Obama lives in DC from the time since he was elected.I suppose Obama is to solve every freaking problem this country has in his first 10 months, what planet are some of you people from ?

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a collection of community-based organizations in the United States that advocate for low- and moderate-income families by working on neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues. ACORN has over 400,000 members and more than 1,200 neighborhood chapters[2] in over 100 cities across the U.S.,[3] as well as in Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and Peru. ACORN was founded in 1970 by Wade Rathke and Gary Delgado.[4] Maude Hurd has been National President since 1990; Bertha Lewis was appointed CEO in 2008.

Its hard the fathom the connections some try to make, lets see ,some of the mob is from Chicago,and....Oh my, Obama lived there, bet you some how could twist in a connection.Funny when acorns talk about Acorns.

there has been a thread on this already, first off I saw the video,Obama clearly leaned down to eye level as any very tall person would do to any short person,I at six foot one have done it many times to elderly ladies,Obama Bowed, my butt,Obama never bowed,he certainly didn't kiss him on the lips like Bush. You may not like any president not bowing to another countries leader, and as far as my eyes saw the whole thing,it never happened, you would really have to squint or use your imagination to say otherwise. But hey,you were only trying to make the man look bad, didn't matter if he actually did it,and as with most every Obama bashing thread it only matters to a lot of the country if someone says it,then the morons take it at face value.Where is the fun in dealing with facts when a spooky campfire story is so much more entertaining.

It sure is. Why are you trying to defend this group that is named so correctly ACORN.. All the nuts fell from the tree and only liberals there to catch them.
Wow what an ignorant statement, your actually trying to defame an amazing organization over a handful of crooks ? Do you end the Catholic church because some priests are perverts ? Do you scorn the entire South because the Klan was there? do you end of youth clubs because some counselors were perverts ? do you end the entire NYC police department because some were on the take ? Do you get rid of all teachers because a few were perverts and got caught? Do you give up on this country because the past administration ruined it ,and the only way to vent is try to blame it on the new guy? Do you bad mouth and discredit our entire military because some had done illegal, against the rules things ? Do we close all prisons because we all saw the movie Shawshank Redemption ?

Bad is all around us,I'm tired of people blaming entire agencies and organizations because a handful were crooks, but hey nice try at making a liberal and a fine organization sound bad,I see what the alternative to a liberal would be,not pretty, that's for sure.So hows that hate working out for you ?

Wow you actually topped the your first statement.I wear liberal like a badge of honor now a days,if it was not for us,people like Bush would have forested for profit even more than he did in federally protected forests ,or continued unobstructed torturing people without a shred of representation at such fine places as Gitmo,or all the other Black sites he had ,he wiped his ass with human rights, and we were the only ones telling him he was wrong, all the others that did not, well lacked a moral conscience like he did, its so much better to be told your a liberal than be compared to one having extreme conservative beliefs, ones like you just comes across as hateful, all you Archie Bunker ,I'm so much better than you, types just seem to fit this one sized box.

I pay plenty of taxes,I work hard, its a pleasure to help fund outstanding organizations as those that help low income people,I'm far more upset having had to have my tax money wasted on a false cause war based on lies of weapons of mass destruction and financing criminal organizations like Halliburton and wasting billions flying off to Mars at a time of such distress in this country, and I'm ashamed that we one of the richest countries in the world that is one of the only countries that do not cover all their people medically, and why is that, well thats easy, its strictly because of vocal people like you that feel your the only one that pays taxes and after all a low income citizen should just get off his lazy butt and get a job like you have .

Its narrow sighted views and your hard fight to make sure we do not cover the downtrodden otherwise you would not have such disdain for fine organization like ACORN that looks after our less fortunate, boy with such absolute lack of compassion for the downtrodden .Its republican/GOP/conservative principles that got us to the point we are at now.

Finally we have someone like Obama that unlike you actually cares about all the citizens, yes, even the low income people. At least I was smart enough to vote in a president that holds a Nobel Peace prize, thats so much better than before ,heck the last two guys,we're still deciding if we will try them for crimes.Actually the last 20 years of Republican majority has been embarrassing.

The Truth About ACORN's Voter Registration Drives

Why Is ACORN Being Accused of “Voter Fraud” Across the Country?

As we write this, ACORN is being accused of “voter fraud” in 12 states, including the well-publicized raid of our Las Vegas office.

This is a coordinated national effort being run by the Republican National Committee and John McCain’s presidential campaign and executed through various surrogates including Fox News, the NY Post, Lou Dobbs, and various Republican elected and ex-elected officials across the country.

This is a repeat of the same attacks on ACORN’s exemplary voter participation work that we suffered in 2004 and again in 2006. The 2006 attacks have been conclusively linked as being at the heart of the US Attorney scandal in which nine US Attorneys were fired for failure to pursue vigorously enough accusations of fraud against ACORN voter registration drives.

Republican former US Attorney in New Mexico, David Iglesias said he was fired because he refused White House pressure to charge ACORN with voter fraud he knew it had not committed.

US attorney, Bradley Schlozman, who did politicize prosecutions against former ACORN canvassers was forced to acknowledge under cross examination by the Senate Judiciary Committee that ACORN was the victim of fraud by its employees and ACORN had caught the employees and had identified them to law enforcement.

This scandal resulted in the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez.

Unfortunately, it seems that the motivating factor behind these attacks is fear of an expanded electorate that more accurately reflects the citizenry of the United States. We find it disappointing that rather than seeking the support of these new voters and listening to their demands for jobs, affordable housing, health care, living wages, and better schools, conservatives and partisan operatives would rather create an atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and chaos. In so doing they feel they can suppress the vote in the current election and pave the way for new initiatives to shrink and narrow the electorate for future ones.

Below is a compilation of some of the best reporting on the Department of Justice scandal and how the press has covered voter fraud allegations in the past. Below that there is a host of links to recent stories and blog postings that provide a more balanced look at ACORN’s work.

Did ACORN just come into existence in 2008? I thought they had been around for awhile but apparently not since they weren't able to influence two of the closest and more disputed elections prior in the favor of the Democrats. If ACORN is such a meticulously corrupt organization capable of such election influence, why is it that Gore or Kerry lost questionable elections when just a slight breeze to the left would have decided in their favor?

Had the GOP not lost it's ability to sell itself on it's own merit, had McCain been allowed to run his own campaign as John McCain on those merits, and had the public not had to suffer 8 years of unprecedented and hard to beat ineptitude the OP likely would still not know that ACORN existed.

Bigotry AND ignorance...shame...crying shame...

I think ACORN's voter registration fraud is what got them. In Seattle they only got a small fine and a few were prosecuted.

I don't know how many, MANY times this has been pointed out, but I shall endeavor yet once more, to enlighten the darkened mind...

ACORN turned themselves in. Got it?

THEY GAVE THE INFORMATION TO THE OFFICIAL 'TELL ON YOURSELF' PLACE.

There was no attempt to cover up fraud--ACORN SELF-REPORTED.
Didja see that? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

'SELF-REPORTED' means that ACORN told on themselves, as they were required BY LAW to do.

I mean, seriously...

Oh Geelee I feel for you .Of course we get it,so did all the fifth graders out there, but hatred is a powerful thing,it closes the eyes,it closes the ears, and it numbs ones ability to reason with recorded fact. When you think of all the threads we have been on ,think of the top three cheerleaders for the other side of any of the topics, hasn't every simple fact told ,been explained to us by them, that it actually meant something other than the meaning we,the majority, thought it meant. You could show a copy of the police report, and the source would become in question to take the attention off the report,or like many times the very best concrete proof is just ignored as if it was never told, like if they don't acknowledge it,its not really there.

I'm starting to think we could start a thread on how to make corn muffins and we would receive strong opposition from the same people.

Thank you, Smilin'.

I am going to give it one more try, just cuz I feel so darned optimistic!

Here is an excerpt from JOURNAL senior writer Michael Winship.
Perhaps you've heard of Bill Moyers? It's his JOURNAL.
I know this isn't going to do any good, but it's one more effort on the part of those who cherish Truth, Apple Pie, and the American Way.

...the ACORN “election fraud” story is one of those urban legends, like fake moon landings and alligators in the sewers, and it appears three or four weeks before every recent national election with the regularity of the swallows returning to Capistrano. First, the basics: ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is an activist group working with low and moderate income families that, among many other things, registers voters. To do this they hire people to go around signing up the unregistered, killing two birds with one stone – giving employment to people who need it (some with criminal records) and providing the opportunity to vote to members of minority communities whose voices all too often go unheard.

What happens is that some of those hired to do the registering, who are paid by the name, make people up. As a result, you’ll discover that among the registrants are such obvious fakes as Mickey Mouse and the starting line-up of the Dallas Cowboys, among others.

This is where the Republican meme kicks in. As they have in past elections (although now louder and more angrily than ever), the GOP has made ACORN the red flag du jour as the party tries to mobilize its conservative base and, allegedly, attempts to suppress the vote and distract attention from accusations of election tampering made against them, too.

The charge is that these fake registrations will create havoc at the polls. On Tuesday morning, former Republican Senators John Danforth and Warren Rudman, chairs of Senator McCain’s Honest and Open Elections Committee, held a press conference and described the results of the bad seeds in ACORN’s registration program as “a potential nightmare.” Danforth said he was concerned “that this election night and the days that follow will be a rerun of 2000, and even worse than 2000.”

John McCain raised it at Wednesday night’s final debate and went further, adding, “We need to know the full extent of Senator Obama's relationship with ACORN, who [sic] is now on the verge of maybe perpetrating one of the greatest frauds in voter history in this country, maybe destroying the fabric of democracy…”

Obama replied, “ACORN is a community organization. Apparently, what they have done is they were paying people to go out and register folks. And apparently, some of the people who were out there didn't really register people; they just filled out a bunch of names. Had nothing to do with us. We were not involved.”

Which is not to say Obama has not been associated with ACORN in the recent past. He has. As he said in the debate, as a lawyer, he joined with the group in partnership with the US Justice Department to implement a motor voter registration law in Illinois – allowing folks to register to vote at their local DMV. His work as a community organizer bought him into contact with ACORN, the organization received money from the Woods Fund while he was a board member there and his presidential campaign gave ACORN more than $800,000 to help with get out the vote campaigns during the primary season – but not, apparently, for registration drives.

All of this distracts from several important points. ACORN has registered 1.3 million voters, and maintains that in virtually every instance they are the ones who have reported the incidents of fraud.

As the organization asserted in a response to Senator McCain, “ACORN hired 13,000 field workers to register people to vote. In any endeavor of this size, some people will engage in inappropriate conduct. ACORN has a zero tolerance policy and terminated any field workers caught engaging in questionable activity. At the end of the day, as ACORN is paying these people to register voters, it is ACORN that is defrauded.”
Arrests have been made, as well they should be...

As my colleague Bill Moyers reported, “Hundreds of thousands of legal voters may have been dumped in recent years, many without ever being notified.” The report describes a "process that is shrouded in secrecy, prone to error, and vulnerable to manipulation."

Hardly reassuring words if you want democracy to work, and sadly, not an urban legend, but the simple truth. http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/blog/2008/10/a_mighty_hoax_from_acorn_grows.html

I do hope that the words weren't too big to understand.

I see some are upset with ACORN,but really,Exactly what does any of this have to do with Obama ?............. in your mind, that is.

Must every problem in this country be his direct problem or his fault, until he walks on water some will not be satisfied, thats becoming very apparent.

Our first Obama Gate…

I watched the video, and realized it was not the video I watched many months ago,I watched the link a post had added and he leaned down 3 inches to a short Saudi senior person.I typed in Obama bowed to Saudi in search engine and its a different video and a different leader,he is filmed behind a mans body,so its blocked , but still his body tends to look similiar to one that would do a quick bow.I tend to agree by seeing this video, even though he is blocked in the video, you see enough of his body to raise a fantastic argument.I do tend to agree.I'd bet money on he bowed!

Now,if it was, which I think it was,who cares, big deal.I cannot believe to type of crap that upsets you people.I only disagreed many months ago and yesterday because a post showed a different video and I was still referring to that video in question assumning its the one that everyone had seen ,it is not, there are two different videos out there, and of different leaders but both in robes, both Saudis.

Once again,Big deal,really,big deal.Sorry for the slip up,really

Anyways this thread is about Obamagate, and my last post stated how on earth are you blaming this on him or even connecting him !
