OK I get what your saying, but that doesn't change the fact that Ras has him at -10..

If as you say you get it why do you continue trying to distort the poll data that clearly shows President Obama has a favorable approval rating?

How sad it is.

I agree it is sad that some people have to distort the truth

Obama's latest approval ratings.
Posted: 11/12/2009 5:19:38 PM
Its always the approval rating,I think the disapproval is far more striking at making the point ,disapproval for many months keep landing in the 30s and the 40s.That is not much as far as any president goes, and you name it,Obama inherited a disaster in almost ever sector.Very few administrations had so much to deal with, and look at these disapproval numbers,30s and 40s.

Some past presidents had almost nothing going on,and you cannot remember their names because nothing really happened, but then we have the Lincolns where it all was happening during their watch. If it not happening,no one cares,if the sky is falling, everyone has an opinion.Well Obama has a "happening" term ahead, and everyone does have an opinion, and with all that, only disapproval numbers each month in the 30s and 40s.Thats fantastic !

Who is vocal, who are we hearing from on here, the ones nit picking or screaming everyone is upset, well its those in the 30s and 40s,in other words the minority.

Here's the rub,if you go to realclearpolitics.com and read the polls the numbers are in a different universe as to your numbers,so why is my question,we all know I don't trust polls,I have written a book on this subject here as to why not to put your trust in polls ! I think the numbers we see on their site of each independent site is also averaged,if that is the case I'll never use another RCP poll again, because averages are far worse than actual individual polls,I already knew RCP averaged all the polling places just didn't think they even averaged the individual ones also. The average a freezing bucket of water with on boiling bucket of water is one large warm bath water bucket. On each week you can see up to a 20% differnce between the polls but its those are also averaged then they are also and inaccurate picture.

These polls are something ,I went to Fox or NBC or one of them and 89% were against Obama on their daily opinion poll,5 minutes later I went to another site and there poll said 59% was for him !

I apologize I said you did this on purpose !

Here is your link you used your supposed to give the link not use it like a carrot over our head,if we beg, you'll give it.

^^^Let me guess:

Your experience on the forums was that when some said McCain was going to win, others posted poll results that showed the opposite.

There isn't going to be an election for 3 more years. It's not that Obama supporters are discounting polls, it's just that it's not relevant or interesting.

But when one side says Americans are opposed to the Public Option, when every opinion poll says otherwise, then it's worth bringing up. Polls are significant when one side is claiming to represent the American people, when clearly they are lying.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 29% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9

And yet... the Total Approval is 50% and Total Disapproval is 49% for a spread of +1% for Rasmussen...

The Gallup shows Approval is 54% and Disapproval is 38% for a spread of +16%

And... the RCP average Approval is 52.1 and Disapproval is 42.1% for a spread of +10%

But what is REALLY interesting is that Rasmussen seems to have been able find negative numbers that no-one else, not even FOX, could twist out of the polls... and yet, this time... not even they can manipulate the numbers strongly enough to avoid reporting a majority approval...

Go figure... eh?

From my experience on the forums....Polls are used if they favor Obama and/or his policies.
If they seem to be sliding downward or cast a negative light on Obama and/or his policies there seems to be a trend to say that polls are not worth crap.
My experience is oddly enough not the same as your experience,my experience ,using the example below,a post from the opposition I'll use as my example of what I am about to explain, and that is any thread that starts by using a poll on president Obama is a thread thats trying to slander Obama by finding numbers that make him look the worse,as with the post below, which is typical, its actually taken from a poll that shows 50% approve and 49% disapprove yet they are able to dissect the parts they like the best ,to slander Obama.

Now, because originally these type threads and polls are brought into the arena by the opposition,THEN the ones that "approve" of Obama ,come in, in defense using the same type of proof that the accusers are using. The logic behind this is that if the accuser believes these polls to be the facts that show how Obama really stands in the entire countries eyes, then in this case the poll is the correct tool to use in showing that many other polls disagree with their poll.

Basically it could be said its merely fighting fire with fire ! Throw a snowball and you get a snowball back !

AS I always say, and have brought the point up a dozen times thus far is polls can routinely have a spread difference of agreement of 20- 30% which is too great in my opinion.

When you factor in that we could be off a plus or minus 3% then that creates wildly varying numbers if 16 major polls varying from 50% to 70% approvals are in reality actually 47% to 73% factoring in the possible plus or minus 3 % difference, meaning the 16 polls have approval numbers that vary 26% , so in my opinion, almost any other form of proof thrown into the debate arena just might be a better weapon for the opposition to use.

I further find that when we successfully counter attack using nothing but polls that make Obama look just fine, and of course show total disagreement to those that oppose him, then all there is left is statements like this one from the opposition.I mean really what else do they have to say after you disprove their poll they were showing as the final word on how the entire country feels about Obama
If they seem to be sliding downward or cast a negative light on Obama and/or his policies there seems to be a trend to say that polls are not worth crap.

of the nation's voters
apparently your point is so weak all on its own that you have to add your own word to it to make it sound as if the "Nation" spoke. Its did not .Even on their whole complete poll number where I think it was like 52% approved and 49% disapproved it was still 1001 polled out of 169,000,000 registered voters.Obviously your just here for effect and laughs and giggles, that's cool !

Oh no hell in a handbasket,There is another poll that I believe is one percent lower and a couple 2 percent higher.

Seems obvious to me,Obamas in Asia.Dense people thought he should of thrown his weight around more with our personal bankers,China, that would have been pretty stupid, where do they think we borrow our money from,oh and why do you think China gets away with so much, duh. They though have been our bank way before Obama so its something he has to just deal with,he gave them a little shit though.Petty people were majorly peeved he bowed and I thought it showed real class, and even more felt he abandoned our military in a time of crisis to go to Asia as if this trip will kill thousands of our boys,so I am not surprised,it explains the numbers.

Quite frankly I think its refreshing to see him out of that 50 to 55% range he has been stuck in for months on end, finally a new number,oh wait, should this upset us,you let us know if we should slit our wrists yet. This poll after all was not like those paltry low number polls like Gallup or Rasmussen that out of 169,000,000 registered voters ,they poll 1000,this poll was huge, it polled a mind bending 2500 registered voters and has a 2% plus or minus accuracy..............oh..........wait............. that means then it might be 50%,darn,I was ready for change !

You should change your name to "I'm ever the optimist". You should know I care little about polls by my lack of posts in this thread, but to see one like this is amusing. Qunnipiac pollers ARE probably slitting their wrists over this. What number does it have to get to before you start to admit maybe this guy isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread? 40? 30? 20? Or will you still be making excuses and denials then?

Someone once told me that when the president is out of town his polls usually stabilize or go up. This was supposed to be due to him not being in DC and/or being in the American eye so much.

It's because he isn't sitting behind a desk signing our tax dollars away. Although BIden's motorcade is trying to make up for the lack of spending. They should make announcements of departure so the public can get off the roads.

No each month a handful of polling places put out numbers and each month those were the numbers shown,I made nothing up.

You know that plus minus of 3% I could add on,that would make it
JAN 58% , 60%, 59%, 58%, 60%, 69%, 59%,59%, 59%, 60%, NOV 59%

Since we are having fun what are the monthly lowest

FOX News 11/17 - 11/18 900 RV 46 46 Tie
Rasmussen Reports 10/21 - 10/23 1500 LV 47 51 -4
Rasmussen Reports 9/14 - 9/16 1500 LV 47 52 -5
Rasmussen Reports 8/20 - 8/22 1500 LV 48 51 -3

You know that plus minus of 3% I could subtract ,that would make it
JAN 52 %,54 %,53 %,52 %,54 %,50 %,46 %,45 %,44 %,44 %,NOV 42 %

How about the months highest numbers now !
ABC News/Wash Post 11/12 - 11/15 1001 A 56

Wow those are some serious spreads on approvals only,If you can call my chosen numbers wrong can you can call them all wrong. This just proves what happens when you poll 1000 or 2000 people out of 169,000,000 registered voters.

LIKE I ALWAYS SAY POLLS ARE ALL INACCURATE,look at Jan APPROVAL ranges from 52% to 71% look at Nov. APPROVAL range from 42% to 59%,and people seem to think we should trust this bit of information.

Yes,

The "Approval" Rate for Obama has taken a Nose Dive into a pile of manure,....
right where its belongs.

For someone who Charmed the Pants off of Voters during his campaign,..he sure has lost a lot of his followers, by doing all the wrong things.

Instead of addressing the Economy, the way he should have,..he is trying to get a Health Care Reform Bill passed,..that could, and should of waited untill after he had done somthing Positive about our Economy.

Obama,..is spending MONEY that we do NOT have,....at a faster pace than "Ole George" ever did !

Instead of getting a Withdrawl Plan to BRING OUR TROOPS HOME,..
like he promised,..
he is more worried about granting AMNISTY to MILLIONS of Illegals.

Obama critized "Ole George" for having so many czars,..yet the first thing Obama does,..is hire more czars than "Ole George" ever had.

Obama PROMISED his administration would be TRANSPARAENT,.....and ACCOUNTABLE,....that EVERY BILL that was up to him to vote on would be on his Web Site for FIVE DAYS,..to allow us to view it before he voted on it.

Obamas Web site, has become nothing but the biggest JOKE any President has ever had,....clearly spreading LIES,..False Information, and NOT allowing the Bills to be posted on his site for FIVE DAYS,..like he stated.

The FIRST thing Obama does when he takes Office,..is to seal his Records,.....and refuse to open them, even tho he is asked to do so...

Wheres the TRANSPARENCY he Promised ???

Wheres the "ACCOUNTABILITY" ???

Now,...Obama has a Day in COURT this coming Jan,..to determin if he is even quailified to serve as President of our Unites States.......

Obamas "Approval",..and "Popularity" just keeps dropping the longer he is in Office.

Lets look at the latest I've read on the Poll.

Wenzel Poll: Obama Job Approval Rating at 44%
Nearly 60% of independents give the President negative marks for his work
October 28, 2009

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The job approval rating of President Barack Obama now stands at 45%, with 51% saying they think he is doing only a fair or a poor job, the latest Wenzel Strategies national survey shows.

The telephone survey shows that 28% believe he is doing an excellent job, while 38% believe he is doing a poor job, giving him a net “job approval rating of Minus 10.

Nine months into his term of office, Obama maintains a positive job approval rating of 81% of Democrats, which shows strong but not overwhelming backing from his own political party. Among Republicans, just 10% gave him a positive job approval rating, while 85% of GOPers gave him a negative rating. While 56% of Democrats gave Obama an “excellent” rating – the most positive rating possible – 69% of Republicans gave him a “poor” rating – the most negative rating possible.

Among political independents, sentiment leans to the negative when considering Obama’s job approval. Just 38% gave him a positive job rating, while 58% of independents believe his performance is either just fair or poor. Of those, 43% of independents gave him a poor rating for his work in the White House so far.

Gee,..Obama doesnt even have an overwhelming majority of his own party backing him.

Must be tuff to be in his shoes, considering his Job Approval Rating is only at 44%.

Lets see,....if there was one thing he could do right now, to drive his "APPROVAL" rating through the roof,..it would be,.... to BRING OUR TROOPS HOME !

Yup,....that would do it......Uh Huh,...Yup,.....Imagine,...Obama bringing the TROOPS home,..like he Promised to do.

Wouldnt that be something.....I bet the TROOPS would LOVE OBAMA too !

But then again,.if he did that,..he might be FORCED to keep the other Promises he made too,....Now we just cant have that now, can we....

A President that Keeps his Promises ??????
