Missing the
Sophia lost
then found
she opened
to engulf with
her womb
all the world
and lay it out
before us
to become the
root of every
word twisted
and hidden
in wisdom....

you come~
for something:
already found,
and you pound
fist on my door.
Are you expecting
it to be there:
when it is only
me standing
exactly where
we both can see
there is nothing
for us anymore?
~yet you come
and come
you do...

try to hear
something other than
the words that spill
carelessly from
our lips
I speak quickly
already lost
on the sound
painfully seared
deep in my ear
always open
the noise
grates for
it is empty
of any promise

The time
once ticked
slowly by
trapping hands
beneath my fingers
know I find my hands loosed
once again
and fingers
stuck on keys
lost in spaces
found no more
traces of the lock
that holds me
in my home
free to find
the door
or window
know open
I choose
and I
thy will
In blinds raised to
allow half sunshine unto
the cana lily
that flourishes from
my sleeping breath
and blooms only after
a frost....

Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Capn Crunch
and Miss America
came to breakfast
and found they
don't serve
Cow that early
in the morning
only pigs find
feed at the table
so early to be served
up and no one
to eat at that
that restaurant
because if pigs
are the only thing
being served
they'd rather eat elsewhere.....
Cow didn't eat that morning
mute it was over the milk
wasted on
the cereal that left
for another choice...
that wasn't being
served on the menu...

our guilt lies form the
