smthngmssng I have to agree w/u I have a 29yr old son and he says the same thing.
Not that all r the same, but from what I hear through the 20 somethings around my home there must be some truth in it.
Just my opinion, I have no age barrier be it a 60 something or a 40 something as long as they treat me w/respect n dignity.
I just fished out a 57 yr old that plays games as well as the 20 somethings, so it goes back to the caliber of the person.
Whelp off to fish, good luck to all in 2010 stay positive there are diamonds in the ruff

OMG... this is cute... climbsagain said :
the cougar connection also may allude to the wearing of animal print clothing by older and more sexually aggressive women.

Does this mean I have to buy a new wardrobe.....ouch!!
I had to raise the age restriction on my profile to 45 because I was getting hit on by guys younger than my son-in-law It's painfully obvious that these young guys are just curious.... yes, we're hot, yes we take extremely good care of our bodies, no drama, no expectations, lots sexual experience, yes, we know how to please in every way.... but come on.... that's not what we are looking for.. if you want hot older sex... pay a professional.... jeez

Most of us are looking for companionship and/or a long term relationship with someone that can actually take us out and will bring us around their family and friends....
Can you imagine a 35 year old bringing home a woman old enough to be his mom???? Yuk!

Ahh...that infamous word of "Cougar."

I posted this last year in a different thread, dusted it off, and here we go again.....

Who gives a shit if the chick is older? I don't stereotype the younger or mature women out there based on how many birthdays they've had. Interesting thread.

If something is working between the both of you, then why complicate matters with age?

The bud light I just finished had a born on date of June 2, 2009. It tastes the same as the very first one I had when I was much younger. Sure different reference, but it's still working for me, and that's my point.

Nothing as changed from my end.......

I'm currently vacationing in Florida along with my Mom who just turned 75. We have friends and family here who have retired and/or are vacationing also. On Mom's b'day she went to a local museum for the day with a family friend...a 46 yo fireman who has a body that enables him to do his job...52 inch shoulders which could carry any of us out of a burning 3rd story window and down a ladder. The people down here call this area, "Cougartown"...and from what I've seen, these women with lots of money are serious about bigger, better, newer, younger... This family friend has had so many offers from comple strangers that he's uncomfortable. Told me he felt like a piece of meat up for inspection and/or sale.

I dislike labels immensely and these women are not animals. They are simply sharp eyed and not adverse to saying what they want, and how they want it. I think we have all earned that right and these ladies are no exception. Regardless of their age, are all beautiful and vibrant women...though like us "regular gals" just because they see someone they want, it doesn't mean it will work out.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with a woman that is labeled as a cougar. I would love to get married to a woman that is over twenty years older than me. Look at Helen Mirren and all of her co-stars that starred in the movie "Calendar Girls". An older woman's life experience is sexy.

I was just looking at the sign ups for the posted parties and they seem to be lacking any of these "young studs" that are always claiming to be looking for Cougars. What happened to these guys?

In all fairness to these 'young studs', many women do encourage them by the way that their profiles are set up. One I came across recently was from a 59 year old woman that was advertising an age restriction of 40 to 60. She would take a guy up to 19 years younger than her but only one year older than her. To me, this is advertising that you are not looking for a serious relationship but want a 'boy toy' instead. She could have at least expressed it as over 40 thereby giving the young guy the green light but not showing favoritism over someone her own age.

I know that many of you women will come back with the thought that "Men have been doing the same thing for years.......looking for the younger woman." Again, I would say that this type of individual is not looking for a serious relationship. It isn't too often that a relationship has the 'forever after' lasting ability when one of the individuals is young enough to be the other's child........yes, it can happen and, true love and chemistry really has no bounds but at some point the physical effects of aging take their toll.

Today, more than any other time in history, women are maintaining their good looks well into their 60's. Many of them could pass for twenty years younger and the guys that are twenty to thirty years younger are interested.....and I don't blame them. My only question is: When the bloom has faded from the flower, how many of the young bees will still be there?

I was recently told that I needed to change my looks in order to get a man. Needless to say, that makes me very angry as I keep myself fit and trim and always try to dress to the 9's whenever I go anywhere. People guess my age to be younger than I am. The reason given that I needed to change my appearance is that it doesn't match my personality.

OK, so let's turn this around a little bit and ask the question: Do the older guys need to change their looks in order to get a woman? Paul brought out the fact that a woman who was 59 only added one year to her upper limit for contacting her. Do you think it was due to men who don't take care of themselves tend to look like a grandpa at that age? I overheard a comment from a waitress a couple of years ago making fun of the guy I was with who was just a few years older than me because he was with someone she supposed was younger. He was not aging well.

So is the "Grandpa look" a mismatch for a guy's personality and therefore could eliminate him from the competition with the youngsters?

Good point. So does this mean that younger men who clearly look younger than their Cougar counterpart are in the relationship just for the sex? If so how does this change the perspective of how we view men and their motives for dating? Is it merely a matter of feeling good that someone is still chasing after you? Please do tell!

I think that older men aren't really able to change their looks the way women can.

Think about all the options that us gals have to use to our advantage. We have makeup, hair color, laser treatments, waxing, skin peels, botox, sassy hair styles, lipstick is a real skin brightener, sparkly earrings which will create a flash of brilliance. We have undergarments to squish, squash and enhance. Panties that give us a bigger rounder bums, girdles which seem to be archaic! Push up bras, water bras for that soft natural feel, necklines that accentuate the positive and shoes and nails which will draw attention away from the problem areas.

Women will do the teeth whitening routines, get braces into adulthood, get rid of the advancing fuzz which torments mature women, we will get massages, facials., hair mousse, hair straighteners, blow dryers, big wide brushes for hair volume....you get the picture.

Men however may...wash the grey out of their hair, but not usually. They will shave, shower, brush their teeth, put on whatever shirt they like best that has been in their closet for 10 years, their most comfy shoes and show up.

I remember thinking when looking at art works thru the ages that women sure weren't very attractive in years past. They looked natural and women's hair did go grey by age 35..and yes, they had a more mature look that is closer in nature to what men experience every day of their life.

If every women would not have access to the "tricks of the trade" that many of us gals use to enhance our natural beauty....we would be vastly different creatures..more like the real people show in art thru the ages.

Grampa and Gramma use to have a saying...there may be snow on top of the mountain, but there is still lava running thru the middle. :)

Well I don't know about the Grandpa look, I don't think I will ever look Grandpa-ish. A couple years ago I took out a woman much younger than me, she didn't have a problem with it and when the night was over we both had smiles on our faces even her dog was smiling!!! Older guy's are out to please !!!! Maybe these woman are going out with the wrong one's, you lady's have to be a little selective and the same goes for us guy's . You don't have to be a COUGAR to get what you want.

I think to get what you want...you must know what you want. At whatever age or stage in life, true vitality comes from the spirit, not from the number of years you've been alive. Age isn't an issue for me....though I recently have spent some time with a male friend who is 21 years older than me - 67. I honestly don't see me spending time with a man 21 years younger than I...unless it's my son's friends who are sniffing around the kitchen to see what treats I'm making.

Your young son's friends may be sniffing around the kitchen for different kinds of treats than you are offering! I can remember as a young man being very interested in some of my classmates mothers. There was one in particular that I used to hang around talking to for hours. I never made a move nor did she (I was probably about fourteen at the time) but we both liked each others company very much. Don't be surprised if some of your son's friends are attracted to you....after all, we males are always looking. .......and from your profile, it appears that you are a very attractive and young looking woman.

If that is your son in the picture on your profile......then I have misspoken. He appears too young to have that type of friends.......Sorry. I was thinking in terms of teenagers.

My friend just finish an ebook called The Cougar Manifesto, that breaks how to date, attract, and hook up with cougars CONSISTENTLY!

The guys name is Fred Moody, and we called him the Cougar Hunter, because when we go out to bars, 95% of the time, the first cougar he walks up to he ends up going home with.

True story - One time he was talking to this older woman with her husband. When her husband went to the bathroom, she grabs him and started making out with him hardcore.

He's great at explaining what it takes to date and hook up with cougars, and I've gotten success myself just from learning from him.

Do yourself a favor, and go to www.COUGARMANIFESTO.com and pick up a copy of his ebook. Even check out the video, he looks like an average dude..nothing special about him but hes getting more cougar tail than he knows what to do with.

Go to www.COUGARMANIFESTO.com right now. The book is only 12 dollars...mad cheap
