Snoring... how do you deal with it??Page 4 of 7    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
I was in the EXACT same situation as you..my b/f has sleep apnea because he put on a lot of weight so fast (he's a gym nut). He finally went and got a surgery on his nose for it...but that didn't help much so then he went and got surgery on his throat...it's been since january and i haven't heard a peep out of him when he sleeps...no more sleeping on the couch for me...

Hey...I have a snoring cat! She's not overweight according to the vet but for whatever reason she snores too. I also snore and I have to say that it's easier being a guy and snoring than being a woman who snores (not very loudly I have been told) but I still do it. And yes...I have woken up in the morning with bruises on my ribs - lol

Snoring... how do you deal with it??

well once on a road trip, car broke down, me and buddy had to share a room, he snored so much it shook the walls.

This worked for me, and i got a great night sleep afterwards. Start lightly until he either wakes up or rolls over, or then harder, and finally harder until he crawls from the room yelling what i i do, what i do?

Kicking that is.

there is a new implant you have put in by a dentist, it is supposed to stop the snoring right away.

It takes ten minutes is not expensive...
Yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I hate it when people snore, it causes others to have sleepless nights...

There are 2 ways that I have found to stop someone from snoring. Duct tape a golf ball to the middle of their back and if you can't do that turn, turn air conditioner all the way down. (or open the windows if its really cold) Either way it will keep them off there back and curled in a ball. Can't snore like that.

I used to date a girl that used to snore at night, and unfortunately it was a permanent biological thing with her nose. And the girl was soooo jittery about the subject, thinking I would leave her because of it.

But luckily I am an incredibly deep sleeper and if I ever got up hearing her snore I would rub her sexy tummy and it would go away.

hehe

There is a medical mask you can have that should fix the problem. He'll take some time getting used to it, but he'll sleep better afterwards.

If he switches to a low fat vegan diet, walks 3-5 miles daily and loses 10% of his body weight, and does tonal exercises with his throat and tongue strengthening exercises , he will improve tone, get rid of unwanted fat and get rid of the sleep apnea and stop his snoring.

Also pay attention to avoid certain types of foods. Worked for me, I now sleep like a baby and dream quite a bit.

"This is why they make you swear vows including "for better for worse, in sickness and in health." :)"

The vow doesn't say the none snorer has to sleep in the same room as the snorer.

Little to no sleep for years because of trying to sleep with a snorer can cause severe health issues for the none snorer.

So besides ear plugs and sleeping pills, or separate rooms lol... what do you suggest?

Ear plugs, sleeping pills, and separate rooms.

I'm an insomniac who was married to a snorer. That's what I ended up having to do.

Losing weight or a Cpap machine may work or at least reduce the snoring.

How do you deal with it? My question is why deal with it?

The snorer can be either male or female.

I see no reason for anyone to suffer.

Ear plugs have never worked for me. I won't be taking sleeping pills for any reason.

I see no reason not to spend time in bed together, then one move to another room.

If is a possibility at all, have him get a sleep study done as soon as possible. Sleep apnea can be treated and it is sometimes a life threatening condition.
My ex has a terrible snoring problem and finally had a sleep study done recently. The results are not in yet, but he will most likely get a an CPAP device which you wear at night. It forces air into the mouth and lungs, facilitating better breathing, deeper sleep and less snoring.

ya know, what is it with men that snore? it seems that all men snore, and i sympathize with your situation. honestly, this guy probably has sleep apnea and needs to seek medical assistance. sleep apnea and snoring is a serious health issue.

My brother snores LOUD and at times even I can't even sleep either!

So he's been using 'nose strips' from the pharmacy and although it's not entirely gone, it helps and makes the snoring a lot less LOUD!

Lately he's tried another method, using 3 pillows under his head. At times I can hear from a distance and then I can't.

Maybe cuz sometimes I'm too tired to hear him. But doctor told him he might need surgery for his snoring!

Plus my bro needs to lose weight. He's a big guy with a huge belly and weight is what causes the snoring!
