discovering ourselves is the key
learning to take responsibility
being part of this humanity
in all of our calamity

so treat us all as family
discovering slowly but surely
we'll grow with some humility
to hopefully live lovingly

to hopefully live lovingly
is what I want for me
free of regret
happy I gave of myself
love to see your smile
when it rests in your eyes
that sparkle
made me throw away the test
you stun me with your charm

We’ll blown our own minds
With the seductive rhythms
Off each other rhymes.
Words warm me when things get cold
The wind blows, the winter’s old.
I search for shelter in their evanescence,
I look for comfort in their glow,
I go catatonic under their shelter
Where the ice can not go.
And when thing get helter skelter,
And proudly shame is told,
And love is made absence,
by their mysterious presence
I know my soul won’t be sold
To the depth down below

to the depth down below
insulated by a blanket of snow
earth's beauty is hidden
and not so freely given
now with our lack of protection
having raped her soul, you know,
with mass destruction wherever we go...
one day so many will say, I told you so,
when we can no longer walk in her beauty
or gaze upon her seas of tranquility

gaze upon her seas of tranquility
through the uncertainty of the tempest
with brother pirates, friend and enemy
how in heaven can he escape
the defiling and disfigured images
in mirrors of malicious eyes
escaping shapes with no escape
amidst this wintery blast
measured forgiveness of the lot
self cast out out of remorse
with a salty sweetness, we all must sing
for all we look upons somehow blessed

from this concrete life we have paved
comes the fork in the road
unconsciously continue to walk familiar steps or
veer to the backwoods trail down by the stream
hear the rustling river sing my name sweetly
amongst the naked trees

the most beautiful moments are not obvious
but the thorns a lasting scar leave
take a pill for the pain to never again
shed a tear, feel fear or bereave

it's written somewhere I am sure
in our contracts that life must be grand
weren't we promised on mom's warm breast
that sorrow would always be banned

hurricanes and earthquakes
and how the poor do plea
tend to give me headaches
so I turn off my TV

all better now, whew that was close
but there in my medicine cabinet
an anti-trouble double dose
you better believe I'm grabbin' it

you better believe I'm grabbin' it
needing to numb rather than re-live it
for time can play tricks on my memory
altering what happened in reality....

sometimes erasing and replacing with blanks
other times making a strong case for penance
designed to wake us up from years of pretence
'cuz they say nothing happens just by chance

('cuz they say nothing happens just by chance)
one event led to another, then to another , then another.
hand holding face, facing all...intricately connected.
apparently there are no guardian angels.

than innocently believing in angels and being reflective
has not one moment of disbelieving that evil exists.
here is is an innocent splendid pine tree growing
here in one view is a senseless killing,
Blue Spruce, cedar, little, dancing frivolous girl
help me forget accepted perspectives.
Spring offers forget-me-nots.
Innocence trumps knowing..with grandeur.
we know that you can follow the devil into the fire.

we know that you can follow the devil into the fire
black tracks showing from the thick rubber tire
far more visible than the whisper of angels' wings
quietly alighting where joy and love awakens
yet if you look closely you'll just barely see
a shimmering shadow in the breeze

we know that you can follow
the devil into the fire
and in any moment
we all are liars
but deep inside
the goodness grows
where the divine energy glows
no longer am i jagged and dejected
with the angles we are connected

the Angel will be with you, you only need to call
one eight hundred wings to fly, someone picks up in Nepal
we've outsourced grace from this evil place and you know that that's not all
try to find peace of mind and it's an import at the mall

inner sanctuary is no longer a stroll through your mind
for that my dear three or four beer and a TV to unwind
but don't look there or you'll find despair in seeking someone kind
the golden rule now made of gold of the fool for the real gold has all been mined

And the luckiest of all, we find gold fish;
Stare at the wall, or go make a wish?
That great pot of gold, alas is quite cold;
Having no worth until it is sold.

Who sets the value, on what we attain?
Which kingdom comes, when just one will reign?
A penny for thoughts, a kingdom for a horse?
A wedding banquet, to honor divorce?!

Oh but the Master, is quite pleased indeed,
If in our travels, we plant the good seed.
Say what you will, do what you must;
What can it mean, "In God We Trust"?

Foundation of sand, dredged up from the sea?
Or home on the rock, when forced to flee?
A pillar of fire, is warm to the touch;
How close do we stand; how much is too much?

This is the day, to throw out your line.
Catch an old boot, or a great fish divine?
If the gold fish is caught, hold on to your soul;
Try not to chew, just swallow it whole.

I want to live my life, full of grace,
but, as if chasing my tail in circles has merit,
or chasing cars up and down the freeway
just to get a thrill, like a parrot
squawking he wants a cracker,
when all he wants to do
is curse at you with his beak,
and if you find this at all hilarious,
your future looks pretty bleak!

with a total conscience clear
it means releasing all fear
and guilt and shame to spear

with a total conscience clear
would feel like a brand new year
but for earthquake buriels so near

no, my conscience is not clear....
too much blame and anger here

it may even thaw our hearts frozen
with winter's cold they just can't open
not wanting to feel this tension
just wishing Spring would come
and bring with it her warm ascension....

flowers here still below ground
wisely not daring to appear
when freezing temperatures abound
but I remember over there
with bluebells heralding Spring is here....

with bluebells heralding Spring is here
touch me, warm me, with thine embers glow,
light my heart, that I might show
of love's awakening.

Spreading forth thy gentle rains,
touch me, feel me, open my dreams,
fill my eyes with liquid greens,
gentle spirits yawning.

gentle spirits yawning
here this day where love is dawning
following the velvet dark of night
now with sun rays of delight
we take a walk in morning dew
glistening boots with rainbows too
feeling the cold yet warm within
sensing thought no need to be spoken
after our night of loving passion

With bluebells heralding Spring is here;
A bit too early to wish, I fear.
There are those who NEED to hibernate,
For them, the Spring is never "late".

As seasons number, one through four;
The winter waits, to open her door.
For now, enjoy the black and white;
Remember why, we've day AND night.

The winter of our discontent?
Or resting from the energy spent;
In gathering nuts and kindling fires,
And saving up for our desires?

Ah, the proverbial "slippery slope",
Can be the reason for our hope.
So go ahead and TAKE the plunge;
Before the month of March's "grunge"!

To see the mountains' majesty,
Is more than worth the price to ski!
But add to that: camaraderie,
And pausing to view a burdened tree;

Can leave us PRAYING for one more day,
Of Old Man Winter, extending His stay.
Have you seen the snow-white bird?
She LIKES it that way (or so I've heard.)

So she can FLY, to "get away",
Or ground herself, on THIS winter's day.

or ground herself, on this winter's day
knowing her beauty's not here to stay...
thank you lqqkin for bringing in
a glorious view of winter passion!
indeed I know the burdened snow
bending trees to bow the bough...
still can see the beauty of ski country
going back in my memory
though now it's a little further from me
here where the land meets the sea
with frozen water on all sides of me

with frozen water on all sides of me
frozen memories deep inside of me
got these thawed out thoughts of hope
to help me cope with the dopes slipping on soap
but I'm heading up slope

(but I'm heading up slope)
All things go up, then down
Witness leaves becoming ground
Witness ground becoming a step
supporting this frankly invigorated child
stomping in, then around.
Then watch in silence, another sun has risen.
