honours birth, life, and death
i dont know where you are going
turn my back cooking meth
ignore the seeds im sowing

symbols burned on numbed skin
watching the future burning
huddle up, collect the kin
we need collective learning

We need collective learning,
for good lessons we’re yearning.
Bring us back to yesteryear,
no lock on the door, no fear.
Do unto others as self,
seek your own truth before wealth.
Measure progress by good deeds
first, pull your own garden’s weeds.

(no, not that kind of weed)

we need collective learning
souls standing shoulder to shoulder
in silence we hear time turning
in union our spirits grow bolder

the torn start to reweave their threads
the farther along offer their strength
the weakened release the ties of their dread
together we focus and take a deep breath

oops

first, pull your own garden’s weeds
be the strong, be the free
then you can reach out and lift the ones
who fell by the wayside and out of the sun

patching both of andover's last lines..

together we focus and take a deep breath
'cuz we all have to breathe from our birth to our death
(those) who fell by the wayside and out of the sun
does not mean they still can't have fun

for life is not a game to be won
by only the rich and famous person
but a teaching of love that comes from within
taking deep breaths that fill us with passion

then stepping boldly up to the plate
perhaps like a racehorse held at the gate
and when they do open we fly into motion
because life is that precious so choose not to hate

sorry....double post, but just realized i messed up my last last line,
losing focus on which word to rhyme!

because life is that precious
so choose not to hate
each one of us is meant to exist
when in a conscious state

like the waves of the ocean
we rise and fall with the tide
till we get the notion
we all belong on this ride

Hoping the best bits are not illusion
as if we've a clue as to where we stand
floating in time, sometimes in confusion
sometimes alone, sometimes hand in hand

the flashes of clarity sometimes help ground us
sometimes just set spirits spinning
it's often enough to feel earth all around us
no thought to the end or beginning

no thought to the end or beginning
lest not while your winning
traffic and warning signs mean nothing
when nothing is crushing
its when the ball drops or you sink to your last level
thats when we plan to get out the shovel

get out the shovel and dig your way out
or dig yourself deeper

or dig yourself deeper
entrench yourself in one way to be
the incline gets steeper
how will you get out when you want a change in scenery?

how will you get out
when you want a change in scenery?
with a leap and a bound
and a deep desire to be free
get up off your knees,
with the movement of standing erect
the weight will slide off your shoulders,
let joy and light reflect

Let joy and light reflect
Even through a life of neglect
And rather than callously reject
Let us nurture some measure of respect

For while we all have souls to protect
It can’t be too much to expect
For the auspiciously correct
To simply try and connect

to simply try and connect
for while we all have souls to protect
you're locked in when you lock others out
treasures guarded cease to be treasures
when they are stowed away,
they deserve a better fate.
who hides pearls in fields of clay?

who hides pearls in fields of clay?
he so damaged there's no light of day
each effort to rise up becomes just a fall
so bruised and so battered he's numb to it all

but the treasures so guarded are treasures the same
although he can't show them still they remain
no help from another makes him less alone
the rise from the darkness must come on his own

the rise from the darkness must come on his own
for only he must know hows he's grown
to face his past and make amends
how it turns out, well that all depends

paths into darkness, trails into truth
stories at campfires about misspent youth
where the memories and case files just dont quite jive
i laugh at history and am glad im alive

I laugh at history and am glad Im alive
I must have preformed death defying acts
although many were not out of kindness
only an ever long quest of survival
evolving further into this known being
unknown by any past self or future dreams
melting into what is surely recognized as today
only reborn by the daylight of tomorrow

to simply try and connect
scrambles my eggs, never mind
all of the rest.
makes me tired, wondering.

sorry 60...hope you get in sync today
and welcome to all our new visitors here!

only reborn by the daylight of tomorrow
filling with light the essence of sorrow
like bittersweet chocolate its taste overflows
and pours from our hearts a love that goes
deep from within in that place of compassion
filling our world with a humbled passion

filling our world with a humbled passion
with humility comes true compassion
with compassion comes gratefulness
the passion grows stronger, I fall from a kiss

I fall
from a kiss
that lead me to death
upheaving all the rest
getting your weight off my chest
Sweet bliss, arrives in line
Gratefulness is sometimes in the blind
Where a bluff has distinct design
It'll be called among a full house
Where cards have fallen and the Queen.....
Rises with her heart intact

rising with my hear intact
abandoning what I thought was love
fickle fate can be a hard learned fact
never place anyone below or above

got to keep on the straight and narrow
walk side by side all the way
toss those weeds in the wheelbarrow
hitch my horse to a better sleigh

as long as I stay inside
line we do abide
its a better ride
slip and slide
no need of dark to hide
leave it in overdrive

leave it in overdrive and keep it running
any good hard driving machine likes it hot,
ramming through all its gears is simple play
finding when to cruise control certainly is not,
keep it coming driving forward keeping steady speed
through all the puddles along the path getting wet,
drive that bad monster home by pure instinct
time to unload that cargo is near you can bet

time to unload that cargo is near, you can bet,
just don't do it in the loo of a lear jet
and why do we bother with this fishing net
when so many don't seem ready as of yet
to open their heart and mind to love
letting fear rewind and flow in their blood
hoping that others will release the flood
of passion in action from heaven above

This is the place for a free spirit to be
rising above the misery
a mix of people, some ready some not
all looking for something they somehow forgot

the profiles change, the links come and go
the sexiest wink, someone thinks they know
who'd be my match, while the trapped cowboys ride
my IM'd still get turned on if I'll just unhide

I swim in the pond, it's exercise and fun
and maybe the bonus of finding someone.
This life is a blast, always something new
and in the meantime I'll write poems with you.
