just make sure you don't bring him home
paraded loss pompous ceremony false sown
bags eyed cultured severed tossed caste aside
false idols moneyed salvitated greed lied

just make sure you don't bring him home
battle weary, fought cast aside, alone
fields lain distressed feathered bed embitter
couched chocolate mouse dreams hand twitter

keys of life bitterness played hollow joyous
resounded stark heralded song chorus
discarded bittersweet stench rotting smell
memories sweet new birth created smile tell

memories sweet new birth created smile tell
all is well along the walls of hell
mind distraught sometimes hollow, await
fate through the words that follow
reaching the half way point, while carrying pints
seems all deranged or damaged insight
pints, fifths and glasses of wine
all seem to take toll after a time
along life's highway you create what you smell
while talking pretending things kept swell
distressed loss culture now set a side,
now it seems you can enjoy the ride

now it seems you can enjoy the ride
oil spewed on shifting sands tide
more hay upon to hardly wait
seasoned trinkets garden gate
fertilized refuse once comrade
stoic laughing never frown sad
limousined coffin flag parade ride
polished stoic unmattered all in stride

polished stoic unmattered all in stride
love for me you can not hide
love to hate me... hate me to love
crappy as it seems it dies
all righteous as it seems
we all have our dreams
one to love exclusively, unconditionally
while conditions are set in reretrospect
heart help what we feel within
so coloured with blues, pink, and yellow shining
purple for broken, black for uncaring
what color are you wearing
is it the red blood of the warrior trodden
in the backyards of homes you've forgotten
What really is the colour of love?

What really is the colour of love?
No colour. Love transcends the obvious.
Love is like being struck by lightning
oblivated by all that has words.

Love swoops like a preying hawk
claws onto your heart.
Opens any shut door.
Love offers any lover, any parent, any friend...

A faint hope...touch eternity.
Little child pondering...
surrounded by love.
Love is something grand.

A golden heart held in your hand
is something that never fails
there are so many types and brands
all at one time I 've held
precious love, like mother daughter
only I had sons, and parents love
to their children can never be slaughtered
I can even say I love my ex
we left on good terms
As long as you have care, compassion
trust to follow, then it doesn't seem so hollow
once you love, love stays
is falling out an option?
I like to think is stays and stays
turning in different ways

love is priceless.

love is priceless
in its unconditional state
beyond all space and time
it will always create
the essence of life
the easing of strife
the rising of peace
for love does release
the pain that won't hide
where hurt might reside
since you never can lie
when love's felt inside

warm, secure and true,
your laugh,
as the weight
of your arms
around me closes
out the world.
Happy Thursday,
I whisper,
kiss me.

I whisper kiss me
then close my eyes,
the taste of your lips,
the heat from your sighs.

As your hands caress
the shape of my face,
you pull me closer
into your warm embrace.

While you gaze upon me
you see into my soul.
Two hearts joined together,
we are now one, as a whole.

playful whispering nurture soul
gardens groomed soft caress delight
forbidden night hallowed moon light

cherished soft cuddled gentle embrace
perspired glowing gentle heart raced
curves rounded traced throttle eased
forces laugh strength encourage teased

opened eyes speeded comfort soft
together soaring in starlight sky loft
simple complexity cherished hand
carresed eyes each soul understand

carressed eyes, each soul understand
that my love for my father, my child
my very longtime friend..is equal
to the first time you touched me, ignited
a blindness, love is more than this woman
this man, explaining a lust that may become love.

Love is an endurance course
in every particular case.
And every particular case
is the first time you touched me.
I was reminded..love . you.
let me say...did I love myself?

let me say...did I love myself?
ahh now arrives the real dilema
loving but not love in return
turn and burn? no, love never leaves
remember..
to give you more, overlook myself
wanting nothing more than to hold you,
and know you reside by my side

in a dream where anything is possible & fancy takes flight
if I close my eyes will he dissappear or just keep knocking
peeking through my window watching
longing to touch my skin underneath,
waiting for a dance when the record is over
the things you can think of when your sober
chasing a butterfly on a witches broom
or not in captivity .....god it was a full moon

or not in captivity...god it was a full moon
was he a dream after all or was he a cartoon
I met him with eyes wide open
perhaps that's what I was hoping
to have and to hold
a knight so shiny and bold
but when he brought out the shackles
it fully raised my hackles!

it fully raised my hackles
now, I silently appraise
any one entering me...oh

look Sir, I heard a bell
in my head.
and missed all and every
one of your droll, funny pouring
in between you, your arms, your
soldier stance.

On the other hand
I got lucky.
I refused to bolt.
When you die
so many decades later.

I will see you as the first time.
Cowboy boots and all.
What I slowly learned.
Your mind was a diamond.

...and I enjoyed every bit
of this life, our conversation
stalled...but refused
death. You spoke.
I, of course, answered.

You were always really there,
an answer to my blank stare.
What I sought was always near,
I’ve searched endlessly with fear.

Now I hold you, you hold me,
how much time before you flee?
Now I understand the game,
our behaviors are the same.

How much can I get from you,
before you have any clue?
I’m in it for only me,
too bad your blind eyes don’t see.

too bad your blind eyes don't see.
what is the true darkness.
this hardness that is my heart.
that is my intent...
at any rate the minnows
are pretty cute.
I caught a few.

but there is nothing now they can do
to change their false to a true
the damage has been done
the arrow has been flung
finding it's target's heart
completely rendering us apart

completely rendering us apart
i blessed myself and ran
my brain's too full for your last retort
and got away when i can

sick chicks mistreat on bliss street
studs lying their way underground
their misery's useless as i hit delete
i will stay on the bench through that round

i will stay on the bench through that round
and the next one if i can
move on to another amusement
turn away from the also-ran

i make my world picking and choosing
new options are always on tap
i don't care if you notice the difference
as i leave with a tip of my cap.

What was that crunch under my foot?
I hope not my heart or yours,
much room is left inside here
and I like you opening doors,
please come inside its rather nice
though modest and fair you'll see
the tough exterior blends away
what is left is the woman in me,
your calming voice and evening talks
I've come to enjoy more and more,
so please keep knocking on those doors
and maybe my heart shall pour...

and maybe my heart shall pour
out what it's held so long
private, contained,
grief's wail and joy's song.
maybe a whisper will trickle
from my lips before brain interferes
maybe we'll both hear a secret
lost floating til it found your ear.

lost (a)floating til i found my ear
anchored at sea to an anvil called fear
i was lost and adrift with nothing held dear
till the day in the darkness it all became clear

the drifting and searching was but an excuse
as was the reliance upon past abuse
till my ear heard the truth that cut my soul loose
nothing sinks low enough to not have a use

(Sorry for the poetic license on the 1st line, but some things are just better stated in the 1st person, otherwise its sounds like finger-pointing; great lead. Not to not say that it doesnt not apply to me . or something like that. and thanks, i think, M)

Nothing sinks low enough not to have a use
water always meets its own level
even when in a glass
and I like the drink

i like the drink
**** the glass
the allure
of the sexiness
of it all
should be
enough
too bad that
shit the bed
long ago
all that is left
is
the mad sprint
to oblivion
