that my dear was all i was after...
a chance to see a deer's graceful beauty
not far away in some hidden pasture
but to watch in awe the spectacular view
as you nibbled and wandered my garden through
then to see your young family
run and catch up to you...

Good thing I don't have to fend

back down in the Hollow
in the shade by the spring
where the mocking bird sings
and watch the water bubble
and forget my trouble
and think of tomorrow
of picking yarrow
and good things to eat
cold water to sooth my feet
in the heat of the summer

I think thats a job for me aye?
I happen to do that very well
and I dont even expect any pay!
but it does add much happiness
a little annoyance or contradiction
especially when I get a reaction
from writing poems of non-fiction
tis a merry thing for me anytime
to blurb out the truth as I see it
in a fashion that happens to shock
with words that cause some to get lit
all I have to say is its live entertainment
to write from my thoughts and heart
even if many dont happen to agree
or tear my posts apart...

I wouldn't hide behind the desert menu cart
eating tacos, and taquito's
and then you could have a burrito
with Harbenaro sauce and cheese
there lots of desert menu carts as these
most of them illegal still
there just trying to pay there bill
and it the real thing they serve
on those desert road side curves
Tamollies are my favorite treat
if I see them for sale I stop and eat

wild flowers blooming across the street
heavenly moon lighting my feet
polite people offering me a seat...
or not...'twas almost defeat...

when i was pregnant and looked like a whale
not a person would stand...i almost did flail
getting whoozy and light-headed
as the train ran the tracks
i finally honestly had to ask
would someone please let me sit down
or i'm afraid i'm about to fall on my ass...

a grumpy person decided to rise
much to my delight, but with hate in their eyes
perhaps they thought i was a teenage unwed mum
i honestly did look like one
but to their surprise
i was married and hardly a teen
but to give me a seat
guess you had to be the queen
(it was, after all, in england)

momentarily I feel like I belong everywhere and no place all at the same time
full of contradictions that I can fully explain if in nothing else but a simple rhyme,
painting a surreal abstraction of my own imaginations or trying to with words
that seem to be set free from the worldly bondage restraints like flying birds,
but oh the horror that is left behind that never seems to disappear from my eyes
that even gives the most seasoned psychiatrist a violent nausea they try to disguise,
for in the end there are so very few that really do get it cause they have lived the life
that in the darkness of night when all else rest quietly in peace it causes the most strife,
then there's those you come across that wonder how anyone in God can believe
well to them I say hes the only one through prayer these night mares can relieve,
so never take for granted that you get to sleep uninterrupted and safe if you will
cause someday the grim reaper is coming even for you with in his hand a bill~
