You know what those simple crock pots or the little ones are good for? When having a family dinner, keep the mashed potatoes in one on low and they stay nice and hot. They are great for keeping food warm but not burning it or cooking it past tasting good.

It takes 20 min to make rice. You can not make brown or wild rice in a cheap rice cooker very easily because the cooking time is longer.

You can pan fry the whole chicken breasts in olive oil. on med for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the breasts. then add a cup of white wine to the pan to clean all the bits off the bottom allow this to cook for 2 to 3 minutes and you can then thicken it with a little corn starch if you want to make a sauce. cook mushrooms and onions to the sauce of desired. If you need more ideas let me know. Add steamed veggies and rice. This is just one easy way. If you would like some more let me know.
