I believe that you may be making some references to the claims of Reverend E. Camping on his radio ministry. He predicts the end of the age (Events from Bible Book of Revelation) will begin on May 21, 2011. (Sorry, this is the only link I can find. Would like to have one that stated more about his views:

http://www.aftermay21.com/

Others have predicted that the END will occur on October 21, 2011.

http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/outreach/tracts/may21/

But, for those of you who believe, the BIBLE actually says::

30Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13: 30-33

Furthermore, the bit about the earthquake and dead persons rising from the ground and coming to life has already happened, (in the opinion of Bible Believers) at Jesus' cruxifiction.

50Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Mathew 27: 50-54

So, might as well go ahead and plan that party, drink the margaritas, and get those books back to the library on time.

Here’s more for those of you who are curious about the END OF THE AGE occurring in 2012.

Ok, for those of you who might actually care.

Here’s a link of “Reverend” Camping making his presentation.

Skoochie , I do believe you are correct in you statement that the “gentleman” himself does not appear to be long for this earth.

You are also correct re: his 1994 “prophecy”.

Sorry, I didn’t read/watch these myself, but they are both good cures for insomnia.

I know a lot of folks who are contemplating which empty houses they will squat in, what kind a free vehicles will be sitting around idling, a rapture looting spree on the departed. Others will be quietly leaving shoes around with some dry ice inside to confuse the remaining christians.

There will still be christians hanging around?

Okay, now I'm gonna cry. I was soooooo looking forward to having them up in heaven.

PS ... what's gonna happen to the people who are religious but don't believe in the "christian" god?

I feel fine, cuz I got it covered. www . cdc. gov, the Center for Disease Control tells us how to prepare for this disaster. Not joking. (i'm not -- the CDC is)

Some people are going to day-after-the end-of-the-world parties. I can't even take it that seriously, I'm afraid.

I think odds are the doomsayers will keep saying doom, until they hit it right one time. How unfair that they won't be able to tell the unbelievers "haha"

I'll probably spend the day on the internet reading the opinions of ignorant and intolerant people who think that bullying and demeaning others can be passed off as intelligence.

So...How are you planning on spending May 20th? Anything fun?

Given all of the various end of the world predictions over the next couple of years, I'm working on a betting pool for end of the world predictions. I figure people stupid enough to take such a prediction seriously will be deluded enough to put their money where their mouths are to prove they really believe it, but too stupid to think about how they'll collect if they win. Since no one will win, it ought to be easy money with zero risk.

Okay, the Canucks are favoured to win the Stanley Cup this year.

God hates me.

The Sedins, Kessler and Luongo will get raptured; no San Jose Shark is going anywhere. The Canucks lose the next four games after taking a 3 - 0 lead tonight.

Well At least all my friends will still be here. LOL

What time does the looting start? I see me moving into a better life style tomorrow evening, Nicer house, cars, etc. Decisions, Decisions.

Also, what time zone is the Great Creator using? If using Zulu or GMT, then I have to waite an extra 5 hours to start, where as someone in New Zealand only has a little over 12 hours left to start. Thats not fair, a 17 hour head start on all the good pickens.

Either way, it's Friday and its 5:00 some where. Happy Hour, drink up everyone, I've got the first round. Bartender, I'll be having a "Old Crow and Coke" with easy ice please.

It starts at 6 PM local time wherever you are according to Camping.
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2011/05/the-rapture-is-not-saturday-its-tonight/239177/

Tune into NZ and Aussie TV stations to watch the wave of the raptured popping skyward and waves of tornados, tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, locusts burst out, on the hour, every hour. Also be aware that there will be rapture skeet shoot enthusiasts out there practicing their sports on those rising up into heaven anyway.

I've got to work tomorrow, then I'm supposed to play music at an art fair. Exactly what time is the Rapture supposed to occur, anyway? Oh, I see. 6 p.m. Okay, I can play for the art fair but I won't make it to the jam at the fiddle contest or to the Skeptics meetup.

I figure if I see my fundamentalist Christian coworker on Sunday, either the Rapture didn't happen or else she isn't as pious as she thinks she is.

I wish it *would* happen and all those annoying people would leave so the rest of us can get on without them.

Sadly, there are some folks who have used up their savings, believing they won't need it. Boy, are they going to have a rude awakening on Sunday morning.

BURP. It would just about kill me if I found I'd died virtuous, so I'm foolin on fish instead of packing. Plus I just ate a cheeseburger, fries, and ice cream. Maybe I'll get a margarita on the plane so I can have conversations like this with myself:

Ooh, baby, you rock me like an earthquake.
No, honey, it's just the end of the world, go back to sleep.

If you follow the flowchart Arwen, there will be little consequence on the populace. The rules are so convoluted and filled with minutia, that even Rev. Camping is still taking donations on his website, hedging his bets that he is not pure enough to make the exit.

A Jacobs tried to live biblically for a year and had many challenges, not the least of which was the stoning obligations.

three hours to go!
it's a beautiful day here. there's no sign at all of foreboding weather,
and the parrots are all squawking away in the gum trees...even my little brush tailed possum is completely unconcerned and fast asleep.

wait, i just caught a slight rustling in the trees.
could this be the beginning of the end?
i hope not, i'm looking forward to a night of "rapture"...

Ever see "The Invention Of Lying?" there's a small bit in there, where Ricky Gervais' character tells a hot woman on the street that the world will end unless they have sex right away. She only stops to ask if there is time to get to a hotel room, or if they should disrobe and go at it on the sidewalk.
If my sex life got better every time the world was about to end, I would actually have one. I will imagine you having GREAT fun, daffie.

As it happens, Harold Camping doesn’t even have an actual church. Just a radio “Ministry”. Very few actual Christians believe his End of the World “theory”.

But he HAS raised about $80,000,000 for his efforts. I guess he won’t be at work Monday, either -- as he will be busy laughing all the way to the bank.

But the old guy hasn’t finished laughing just yet……..

It seems that he is already making plans to set the date up a couple of more times.
And I’m willing to bet he will cash in again -- and again.

Oh, well ---“Only the good die young”, I guess.

BTW: has anyone here ever heard of Orson Wells’ radio show “War of the Worlds” that aired in 1938. It’s possible to google the whole broadcast, if you are interested.

I've been thinking about this day for awhile Op and you know, even if the world DID end today I would still be happy. The tragedy isn't in dying, the tragedy is never having lived and I've taken risks, fallen in and out of love a million times, and have hopefully touched some people's lives in a positive way as they've touched mine. I've had the pleasure of being able to travel abroad and I've been honored to give my rescue cats a good home that would have otherwise died from starvation, neglect or something worse. I can honestly say that whether I go today or tomorrow I'm good with it either way.

Of course, now I can't get that song "It's the end of the world as we know it" out of my mind..thanks for that. LOL
