As the womanly half of the dating equation....
it is your prerogative to be dated and wooed in ways you like and are comfortable with.

The guy half of the equation will always try to speed things along.
but if truly attracted..... will go at your pace.
If they don't, then don't take em seriously.

Never give out your number unless genuinely attracted.
And if you are.... and it is requested too soon...just say so.
simply say "I like what I read, but I'd like to get to know you better first".
And make the effort to.
(dating is mutual you know)

Always let a guy you "may" be interested in...
know that you may be interested in him.
(So he will stay interested in you.)
Simply saying no without that will send a guy elsewhere.

good luck.

You'll end up wasting a lot of time emailing, all the while thinking you're clicking and connecting but it's all an illusion. I've tried that approach in the past only to find out when we meet in person that it was all a waste of our time. No chemistry whatsoever. It's something you learn to do after a while. To just act like you met in the real world and then got together for a drink or coffee to see if there's a potential connection and interest to go on a real date.

Good luck!

I've had great experiences from either waiting too long or too little. But it sounds like it makes you uncomfortable so maybe this just isnt for you. Perhaps try speed dating?
