BlackLady1953:
Love the "gray hair distinguished look" on men; am totally repulsed by the gigantic gut!

Lots of ladies in this age range are not slim and trim and many never were. That door swings both ways, there. I see a lot of pics of women who claim they're a average body type, average if the 'average woman is fat' that is. Then many more try and hide it with creative photo angles or cropping. There's the whole throwing rocks while living in glass houses too.

Fifi, we are the size/shape we are. But some try and hide what size they are and that's deceptive. Do you think a lady whose hips and waist are the same size is an 'average' body type? I like all types but prefer more of a curvy hour glass figure. I've read enough posts in the short time I've been here, putting down short, fat, and bald men. Well I've been fat in the past and may be again sometime in the future. But I don't think I'll ever be bald or short. Though I did shave my head when my wife lost her hair to chemo.

Fifi, I'm sorry, that's not how I meant the post. I was replying to the one about big gut men. I think you know sarcasm don't translate so well to this medium.

You also see people who list their body type as 'thin' but with their bone structure they never will be 'thin'. My brother is 1" taller than I am and 30-50 lbs lighter. He is/was thin where I take after a different part of our family and will always be big boned/stocky no matter how much/little body fat I have. My late wife was the same way, she never would be 'thin'. Her rib cage, hips, and shoulders wouldn't allow it.

Again, my post didn't translate what I was trying to say and I didn't mean to offend someone like you. I looked at your profile and I don't see where you would be trying to deceive anyone about yourself. My post wasn't aimed at you.

I don't think it's your age. Your profile is nice and well written. There are plenty of active men in their 50's or 60's. Maybe you should raise your age limit slightly.

If anything, it could be the location.

Some of the most attractive women "out there" are in their mid 40's and up. I'd really feel foolish prancing around out and about with a lady that looks young enough to be mine or somebody's else daughter.

Look how ridiculous Hugh Hefner has looked over the past 20 years.......and ESPECIALLY now, lounging around in his bath robe...yucking it up with bevy of 20 somethings.

Actually....that looks a little (a lot) sick.

In my humble opinion, the lady who posted this thread was/is a very attractive woman!

Hugh Heffner doesn't actually do anything with those women it's all for marketing purposes.

He still looks ridiculous. Soon his girlies will be pushing him around in his wheelchair and drawing straws to see who has to change his Depends.

Lately he reminds me of Boris Karloff when Boris played Frankenstein’s monster without his dentures, to give his face that sunken look. So now when anyone mentions Hugh Hefner I think of Frankenstein.

Well yeah...........of COURSE common sense tells me he they aren't actually DOING anything with him. But he WAS engaged to be married just recently to a lady that was 40/50 years younger than him, and she called it of.

You are right..it's all about the iconic image.............has been for years.....and of course the young ladies are there for the exposure.......... (pun intended)

It's demographics, pure and simple.

20-something women are desired by everyone nearly universally. This is the gold standard of female attractiveness, and women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who approach this standard will have the most certain success. Grossly overweight women will appeal to fetishists. Among the 20-somethings, therefore, the power lies mostly with young women. It may not seem so, because the number of men that women find attractive is always a smaller subset of the number of women that men find attractive, but in general, young women can reject 50 men for each man she accepts without any damage to her prospects.

However, after about 40, the number of single men available to single women drops precipitously, and power swings over to the men. Thus, the number of men approaching will be lower and probably the quality as well. The good news is that you still only need one...

Men become more beautiful over 45. For us women, the upkeep is ridiculous. the shaving and plucking and tucking and angling-ugh. Exhausting. Give me a man with cataracts and no depth perception ASAP.

I agree. And that's why I prefer candles or dim lighting.

Man a lot of cop outs on this site...age, hair, body type...bla bla bla. Look for the ones who are looking for you, not the ones who are not.

Maybe I am a rarity but I prefer women my age or a bit older. I have found they are more focused on what they want in a relationship , more grounded , and every bit as beautiful as a younger woman. Plus we can talk about about movies, music and even old TV shows and you know exactly what I am reminiscing about. I have no desire to date someone that is half my age. My last girlfriend is 58 and she is still quite gorgeous. My vote is for the mature woman!
