It makes perfect sense for bald men to have facial hair. Baldness is a sign of high testosterone. Facial hair is a sign of high testosterone.

Speaking of chemo, growing a beard and keeping body hair is a way to show the lack of hair on the head isn't from chemo, but from a natural process.

Reeks of "Can't grow head on my head so I will grow as much of it as I can it other places and act like I am cool" imo.

Just a huge thank you to the women that had positive comments about us baldies. A guy that shaves his head keeps it that way because he likes it. If it's not f or you, well, then that's ok. I would recommend that you look at the person inside, you might find a diamond in the rough.... or smooth if you will!

Ha, good one Andy. I think alot of women are getting used to us shaved head guys. Shaved heads are everywhere you look now. I have a date set up with a new gal that messaged me because she prefers bald men. That's encouraging.

Shouldn't be an issue unless you're dating a guy with no ears.

I cannot change that I`m bald, however I do have SAVAGE hair replacement skills.
And every now and then, I purchase and personally modify a Swiss lace hairpiece, I bleach the knots myself so they melt into my scalp, and once I place it on head it cannot be detected by looking nor by touching it.

When I do this, I`ll assume a different identity, spend a weekend in a nearby city, and go out to bars, socialize, meet new people and groups, and I have NEVER been detected as wearing a hairpiece yet.

You can even pull on it, to a degree and it wont come off.
Its been several years since I`ve done this, I think I`ll order one.

Time to transform once again.....

often think being bald worries more men than it does women. If he has other things to offer then it is no big deal. Much worse is the comb over or the jetblack dyed look. Let us not talk about the often reddish toupea that is clearly not his natural colour.....

What happens when a woman tries to run her fingers through it? Gross.

I prefer bald over a hairpiece.

Sounds like alot of work to wear some fake hair for awhile, but if it makes you feel good go for it.

The only thing I don't like about being bald is the time involved to maintain a smooth head. If guys knew how good it feels and how convenient it is, there would be many more shiny bald heads out there. You just have to wear it with confidence.

When I shaved my head I could never get it smooth, it always felt like sandpaper no matter how closely I tried to shave.

i'm told the type of chemical you smear on post-shave (Headblade, etc) makes the diff. Living in a cold clime, I can say a rough head and a watchcap bond together like Velcro. And then there's the whole thing of all that bare skin in freezing temps while shoveling the driveway. The wind blows, and boy do you know it if it isn't covered. Oh, and then in the summer you worry about sunburn. I'm not a hat-type of person, but a friend got me a mesh Cowboy-Stetson type thing from I guess Panama Jack, probably looks dumb on me but it gives enough shelter and lets the breeze go thru.

theoretically I miss my hair, b/c hair tends to be like a picture frame--you can make a so-so painting look a step better with the right frame around it.

Chuck, it's all about prep, equipment, and technique. I get my noggin baby butt smooth.

GTO, I love sporting a shaved head! My hair is white, so getting rid of the grey takes years off. But you're so right about the heat and the cold.

I hear you, grover, I go salt & pepper if I let it go a few days in the winter blizzards. the last few days bumped into some former coworkers who knew me with hair, and didn't recognize me at first. And shaving the dome is all about the prep and the equipment. Of course, it helps if you're already going bald, you don't have to focus on those areas so much :)

BCC, you don't need to shave your head smooth, imo. You would look good with your hair cut very short with clippers.

*busily googles "swiss lace hairpiece".

I've often thought about trying out different wigs.
I went with my sister in law when she was trying on wigs in
anticipation of losing her hair, and I tried some on myself.
It's scary how different you can make yourself look.
It could be possible not to recognize myself if I saw myself
walking down the street...but then I'd probably ignore myself
because I can be rude like that.

I see you live in Minnesota. Surely you didn't get frost bite? Stay outside in the snow too long?
