I've had several threesomes with my wife. Each time has been a great experience for everyone involved.

IMO the "trick" to it is, it needs to be discussed (for my case between us) to a point where it is like beating a dead horse. There has to be alot of communication before anything ever happens. Everything needs to be discussed of whats acceptable, whats not, scenarios (like how would you feel if I did this). Basically cover every possible topic involved with it before hand. It all has to be out on the table, and if even the smallest thing may bother you, it needs to be brought up. If you can't have a 100% open conversation about it, then you shouldn't be having one. I've seen so many people do things like this when their relationship is falling apart, only to have it escalate things. Its not something you do when you've hit a rough patch in your relationship to "fix" it.

Then of course you need the third person that is involved to respect you boundaries.

Yeah my wife and I were in a number of 3sums with other guys before she left the lifestyle in early '09. I'm bi, and these 3sums were exclusively with other bi guys, since str8 men doing nothing for her. None of the connections stuck, but there were no weird jealousy issues on anyone's part either. I've been in 2 with 2 females each time. It's alright, but quite the overrated experience as you can't focus on what's going on and it's a little discombobulated. Sex with a single attractive female would be better from my experience. I think threesomes are more sought after by women in reality simply because:

A: they get to experiment with women in FMF or...
B: They enjoy the feeling of losing control and just being overpowered in MFM

I've experienced them a number of times, both FMF and MFM. While I prefer one-on-one sex most of the time, a threesome can be very exciting, extremely erotic, and tremendous fun with the right partners. A couple of times have been duds, but the rest reached new heights of pleasure, lasted much longer, and included new experiences and variety you just can't do as a couple.

I've done the threesome schtick. Its just foolin' 'round (safely of course) thats all.

some couples can handle it on the psychological level. I never did a "couple" it was always two singles so no jealous third, fourth party.

More than I can remember actually. Before I was with my girlfriend I had about 4,one MFF and 3 MMF. I’ve been debating on whether or not I was going to reply to this thread or not.
For a few years before I met my ex wife I worked at a strip club, as a DJ and a bouncer. It was good money. And it paid for a fairly good size house. The 2 3somes I have been in weren't planned they just happened. First was a MFM and the second was a FFM. They were both fun and awkward both at the same time. I will say that the FFM was way more work than I'm used to and not as fun as I'd thought it would be. The MFM was with two friends and we were bored. They ended up later dating and married with kids. Would I be in another one? Not if im in a committed relationship no, but if it arises when I'm single then possibly.

I don't agree with the open marriage/relationship because I think that if you want other people in your bed then you shouldn't be married or committed to someone else.

After my ex and I split and I knew that I was divorcing him I went out had a lot to drink and ended up in the barracks with 2 soldiers. That was my first threesome experience and I hardly remember any of it.

Couples who have a ton of DOs and Donts IMO shouldnt have a 3some. A rule can get broken and problems will happen.

Thats why when my BF and I decided to give it a shot we didnt bother with DOs and Donts. I simply stated there was one rule only. He must use a condom when with the other girl for vaginal intercourse. Everything else goes. No rules.

Been together 4 years and never had a single issue with it. And honestly, 3 somes have been a blast every single time. No bad stories to tell here.

We're looking to give it a try. We believe there's a difference between sex and love and jealousy can play a part but that can happen over anything. My husband isn't bi or anything like that and he's done this before, I've spent my life with only one having sex with one man, him. I have on numerous occasions and I have been in a couple group events. The woman I have recently been involved with throughout the last 3 years likes women and is very open sexually and has had group things as well. I am not the jealous type, well for the most part, we all get jealous, and it’s how you deal with it that matters.

For almost 15 years I've told the women I dated that if they want to have sex with someone else, go for it. The conditions/rules have changed over the years, but I've settled on just a couple of courtesies.

1. That they do not hangout with the person, that they are having the sexual relationship with. Basically, that if they met up, they have sex, if they hangout and don't have sex then it is over.

2. They can either tell me or not tell me. Though if a situation arises that we are at the same function/social event I MUST informed me of the relationship. I will not be made a fool of, plus it shows that we are in a committed emotional relationship and are open with each other.

Over the years I have decided that I wanted a relationship that had an emotional commitment, than a physical one and it's taking me awhile to realize what that means for me. Funny that 2 of the girls cheated on me and never told me...one even had permission to sleep with this guy and then changed her mind the next day, found out after the break-up that they were sleeping together. The last girl I am involved with is open like me. Though I think she is more of a hypocrite in that I can't get jealous, but she can (usually in the form of a comment)

Now when you are emotionally committed to someone, you know that they want to be with you / go home with you / think about you.

So really if they kiss/sleeps with someone else and you view that as cheating, then the relationship is over because in your mind she/he betrayed you. If the person I am with wants a physical monogamous relationship, I consider a kiss by a non-family member (family friend) as if they just slept with that person (on the cheek is fine, but a peck on the lips can be just as passionate as one that involves tongue (I can give a girl a peck on the lips and it will be passionate, trust me) Now if you take the view that it was just an act for pleasure or to fill some need and you don't see it as a betrayal, then the both of you go on as normal. Sometimes a person needs to be reassured that they are attractive and desirable from someone else, couples do have problems and affection is withheld or they may be other reason for low self-esteem that a physical encounter will give them that needed boost.

Now if they start developing feelings beyond what the average person would have for a friend, then that would be considered a betrayal (because they are giving intimate emotions to someone other than you).

Threesomes are fun...I mostly like the MFF and have only been involved with one MFM. It is enjoyable to see that others enjoy the woman I am involved with, because at the end of the fun, it will always be me and her.
