Thank you modivin! USANA is now on my list. I feel like a dork for not drinking enough water and tired of feeling this way. I'm gonna push myself like I push myself to workout. PERIOD. I am stretching before and warming down after a workout.

No asprin today either... and gonna get off them.. one day at a time is gonna be my thinking.

Well...I started doing pushups on a daily basis in 1966,added situps, spring resistance, chinups by twelve, gymnastics at 13,hockey,football,wrestling,more serious weight training almost non stop since the age of 21.Extreme mtn biking in my 30's.Used a heart monitor on a stationary bike coupled with deep squatting 275 and back on to the bike,so I have done some hd cardio.Nowadays just a light jog, coupled with some sledgehammer work and dragging rebar on the jobsite. No plyo to speak of.I like my rings for ring flyes and dips,a modified plank, bicycle etc.GHD for ab work.Leg raises with the rings.

Weight training you are concentrating on a specific movement of the muscle in the direction you are pushing or pulling.

Cross Fit is a varied, high-intensity, functional movement work out.

What it has done for me in training for triathlons, distance running, and recovering from a car accident far exceeds anything I have done in weight training or cardio...even if combined.

If you want to know more, I would suggest going on crossfit.com and reading more about it.

well I tried competeing in strongman comp. I was by far stron ger than most of them but didn't have the cardio. from what I've een cross fit would have given me that I do run and cycle I know unheard of for powerlifters but there was still something miissing beside a person that trains for comp. should never be afraid of incorperating something new may just give you a needed edge and god knows any serious person that competes at a high level needs everything they can learn

Absolutely! A healthy balance seems to be incorporated into CrossFit. Even if you work a region two days in a row, it will be different motions and muscle activation.

Hey Everyone,

I am the perfect example of incorporating Crossfit into my routine. Thanks to my trainer and workout partners, they keep me movitvated. I have played sports all my life, wish crossfit was around but oh well, never to late. You can gear the program to any age any level of a workout. If I am not w/ my trainer or w/out buddies go online checkout Crossfit.com, mix it up. My endurance is amazing at 54 yrs young. I have now added powerlifting as some of you know and my strength is stronger than ever.
My competion (number 5) is this Saturday. I play in a competitive co-ed/womens volleyball tourneys monthly and I seem to be moving better and last all day. In fact played in one this past weekend, diving all over the floor and still engery to burn. I am the oldest women playing w/ 20s/30/s 40 y/os and some of them get so exhausted.

It also has helped my overhead serve, its back woohoo. I love the whole concept.
Be smart about your choices and ask around . BTW my trainer is certified in crossfit-he knows his stuff-not everyone does.

Be safe and well my fellow Crossfitters

What a great teammate!!

No power? Are on the NE seaboard hit by the storm...snow?

Last couple of days have been taking it easy and just walking the dogs a bunch. School started yesterday. So I need to get everything ready and a set schedule to balance my life...otherwise I'll lose it! And then there is building a biz on top of it :-) Good times!

My Mom told me about the snow...I've been so consumed with figuring out my schedule and getting organized that I haven't had time to really pay attention to much else

Note....supplements are acceptable....just make sure you choose the right ones.

Currently I'm designing my monthly supply before it is shipped off to my house....even down to the name I put on the box...prepacked so all I have to do is grab and go
