But I'm a Doctor!Page 3 of 5    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

" ... I received a message today that made me laugh.
Basically it was along the lines of,
"Well you're in luck! This smart, handsome and hung doctor thinks your cute ;)"

I looked at his profile and he was in his thirties, and is too old for my liking, which is clearly stated in my profile.
I simply told him that he was too old for me and to have a nice day. ... "

You mean to say he DIDN'T tell you his attorney advised him that YOU were the LUCKY WINNER of MILLIONS of dollars and all you need do is furnish him your banking account number, routing code, Social Security number, date of birth, and your mother's maiden name and please to be mailing them honorably to him attention at an address in NIGERIA?

Lucky girl.

Now block him and report him to Site Management.

Reminds me of a guy I dated from another site recently - he was constantly going on about what a great guy he was, how he could be the best thing that ever happened to me, etc - meanwhile, he was the biggest control freak, was smothering me big time, and was expecting me to more or less change everything about me to suit him...

Well that's why they call this site Plenty of Freaks - there's a reason for it.

Had one guy brag about being a cop (yuck) and that it was my lucky day because he chose me to contact. I wrote back and told him I don't date cops - EVER - and can't stand them. I gave him my condolences and told him if he ever switched professions, I MIGHT consider having coffee with him.

Then, just 2 days ago, I had some deviant write to me and ask me if I'd consider "being" with a couple.

I wrote back, "a couple of WHAT?"

Good God. So many freaks, so little time.

I've had guys brag about their jobs to me before, and about how much money they made. Still wasn't interested....if I'm not attracted, I'm not attracted. I've never heard a doctor brag about being "hung" before...sounds low class to me too! I was at a club with a friend one time and this guy tried to pick her up, told her he was a doctor. She was studying nursing, suspecting he was BS-ing, and asked him medical questions he couldn't answer. That was funny!

I think it's funny how so many people still believe the myth that doctors and lawyers are rich. Like another poster said, I come from a family full of doctors and they're just as nice or jerky as anyone else. Some doctors can be close to dirt-poor (usually rural, Family Practice), while others can be rich (Plastic Surgeons in rich towns/suburbs). I also am friends with a lawyer who only makes like 45,000 a year.
If this guy was bragging, I agree with the others that he really wasn't a doctor. He'd also mention what he specializes in if her were legit.
P.S. I know someone who dumped a rich doctor after many years because he was an ***hole, so that tells you something as well.

A man kept sending me messages today all in french.I told him twice that I don't understand and still he sent more.Sometimes you just have to shake your head and block people.

That would have been so much fun.

To translate go to: babelfish.yahoo.com and you can translate their text and turn YOUR text into any language. It is totally hilarious to tell them "if they cant speaka da english.. to take a hike".. in their own language.

Si vous ne pouvez pas parler anglais, prenez svp une hausse.

HAHA what I find interesting in the OP's statement is......she rejected him based on age - fair enough. Then in his egotistical rebuttal, she swatted down and says "just because your a doctor doesn't mean my clothes are automatically gonna rip off from my body".........

......but holding the huge wang up your sleeve???

Sorry, just struck me as funny!!!

Kudo's to you for having criteria and sticking to them AND for telling a egotistical douchebag that he aint all that.

Family Pactice doctors - dirt poor! I find that extremely hard to believe.

Here in the UK - under our National Health Service - family doctors (General Practitioners) earn approximately £150,000 per annum.

"Doctor" can mean a lot of things. He could be a horse doctor. He could be a doctor of ancient dinosaur turds. He could be liar, and not a doctor of anything at all. Maybe he mother named him "Doctor." Who knows. Doubtful a real M.D. would be on POF soliciting in such a matter.

Bethesdafoodie:
Eh, I keep seeing this and I've met plenty of doctors that while pretty smart as far as their work knowledge goes, can be downright ***holes…

Well, as long as they're azzholes, then it’s perfectly understandable they’d be on PoF…

OT: I doubt OP’s admirer was a doctor or handsome or hung, or even of legal age. That’s

He messaged me back telling me I was crazy because any SANE woman would be interested in a handsome doctor with a huge wang.

Really??
Just because you're a doctor doesn't mean my clothes automatically rip off from my body.
What a dork.

Anyone else receive a message like that, or have personally tried to use their profession as a pick up line?

good for you; most guys are such pervs, young and old. It's good that there are some women that actually don't go for that classless crap

What would a doctor be doing on POF? I've had a couple of guy leave me saying they were doctors...hahaha, yeah right! What does him being a doctor do for me? My eyes should get a big as saucers and I should worship him? Doctors have plenty of women sniffing after them at work, they don't need to come to plenty of fish. And who cares if they're hung, Nasty Doctor!

It does happen, I have met and dated two MDs from online. Neither from this site, but we did meet online. They were pretty much ordinary people, they were not hung up on themselves in the slightest.

The profession I am about to give up on is teachers. Every one I meet seems to be a religious zealot.

Since we all seem to agree that this dude is not an MD, can we stop with the bashing. All the things said about MD's, can be said of cops, firemen, attorney, etc...
What we should be discussing is why. Why do some men feel the need to "brag" about their titles to get a girl? you know why? because most women are shallow and will fall for it.
I am not a doctor, but I play one on POF

I gave up trying to use the "I'm a doctor" line when I found out that clitorology ISNT even a medical specialisation and was therefore a bit of a giveaway

msg 104 Who cares if the guy is a Dr. or not? I'm sure the line has worked in the past. Next time you see a hottie with a dweeb; I'll promise you, his collar is not blue. As usual, the best folks to scam are scammers.

@107 Oh, Tom, don't get me wrong , nothing against Dr.'s at all. They're "chick magnets"; just making an observation. Altruism is still alive and well. Uplifting story.
