At the moment I am only reading books and articles required for my course work, so cognitive psychology and statistics.

POF Forums.

I like action/adventure/psychological horror.

Actually, my favorite is sci fi and it's not too big a stretch to feel I'm in a fantasy world here.

Book 11 of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
Too long a series though, breaking it up by rereading the Gabriel Allon books by Daniel Silva.
Got some Indigo gift cards for Christmas, hit the cheap aisles, Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, John Connolly, Lee Child and David Baldacci

Best thing about a Kobo over a book though, not having to use your plate to keep a book open, much easier to read while you eat. LOL Yes I live alone!!!!!!!!!

Book 11 of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan

LOVED that series. I made the mistake of buying the first book when it just came out (I got a 1st edition). That meant I was reading that series for 20-something years!! Going crazy during the 1-2+ years between volumes. Oy I was glad to finally read the last volume. Although I was pretty disappointed Rand just rode off into the sunset. Too anti-climactic.

OT I'm ready "365 Days of Writing Dangerously" by Barbara Abercrombie. And reading "Writing Down the Bones" By Natalie Goldberg.

Just for you, neighbor, I'll write a short horror story.

I'm working on the video now: The Ghost and James Woods.

Sorry. But you still have about 2,000 pages to go. After reading 11 volumes so far with all the twists, turns, and characters, you really think I just spoiled it? Might as well stop reading now.

OT - now reading The Case for Reincarnation by Joe Fisher. Not too interesting. Since I brought home 5 new books yesterday, I may not spend my time to finish this one.

Given the point he is at now in the series as far as I have read and the possibility this may not be a happily ever after type book I was not sure he was going to make it the whole way. But now I know, thanks again

Again, I'm sorry if you think I ruined it for you. Deepest most sincere apologies.
But I also did not say Rand 'made it the whole way.' The Prophesy says he doesn't.

Two books on the go... The Science of Kissing and The Art of Kissing.

What I'm learning is that I have a lot to learn. Who knew that something so simple could be so complicated!?!?!

Voluntary Simplicity by Duane Elgin.

A classic that I've read numerous excerpts from. Thought it was time to read the whole book.

" On the Move---A Life " by renowned neurologist Oliver Sacks (author of 'The Man who Mistook His Wife For a Hat", "Musicophilia" among others)

Just finished it. Fascinating man, fascinating life.

And... Hope for us all here on POF---he fell in love for the first time at the age of 75 and found it made him feel better and in less pain after some late in life surgeries than ANY drug he had ever taken---and he DID do a fair amount of experimentation (on himself) with mind altering chemicals.

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion .

That book was published the year my husband died---2005. I was working at my Public Library at the time so got first dibs on it! Was nice to have someone to commiserate with---even if just via the printed word.

I'm halfway through 'Sophie's Choice' by Wm Styron---never saw the movie with Meryl Streep---but might want to watch it after I'm done reading the book---lots of layers to the novel. I wonder which layer they will mine?

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson

Mr Stevenson reminds me why I became a lawyer and why I maintain my license with the hope of gettting back to lawyering.

Long Way Home by louise penny. She's from toronto I think. She has this inspector series based on the The Sûreté du Québec. This is the last one he did, #8 or so? There's a new one coming out in the fall.

FYI< Doctor Oliver Wolf Sacks died August 30, 2015 at the age of 82.

A quote from his book that I like.

"People will make a life on their own terms whether they are deaf or colourblind, or autistic or whatever. And their world will be quite as rich and interesting and full as our world."

RIP Wolf~

I'm reading "Ordinary Wolves" by Seth Kantner---a novel about a boy growing up in the Alaskan wilderness.

Icy cold atmosphere counteracts this hot humid week~

And..."Unpacking the Boxes---A Memoir of a Life in Poetry" by Donald Hall, Poet Laureate of the U.S., 2006-2007
