Whatever
Screw it
Let's have bad
Attitude

Go foot stompin'
Round the house
Slam doors
Talk crude

Civilized manners?
Aint got no room

This here's my house call me Dude
Answering the doorbell in the nude
Unannounced solicitors welcome mat
A cardboard cut out of a wharf rat

Treated plywood scrap with a rattle snake skin
Holy rollers promising to save us from sin
Magic spring water bottled from the Jordan
Cracker Jacks decoder rings of Flash Gordan

Hitting the top 10 list's number one in Austria
Hints a soft Brexit for kangaroos in Australia
The secret of three sisters when whisking rues
Aqua marine green with blue transparent hues

Infinite horizon swimming pool without guardrails
On an ocean liner space ship with solar wind sails

A cardboard cut out of a wharf rat
greedy images to swallow a fat cat
hungry sharks circle makes us think
walk on water or drown down the sink

raining cats and dogs and green tree frogs
next Halloween all bumps back on the logs
inspired by the first line in a special fashion
mixing chemistry art prophecy and passion

unknown images distort Deja view
here's the old do wop do wop do
combo leg spin chip uppercut
now you're thinking what?

can't call it even if I tried
hold tight to enjoy the ride
fall down run walk or glide
whatever it takes to make it to the other side

Unknown images distort deja view
Stepping into the light staring at you
Not sure this moment just what to do
Is it a dream or something in between
The realm of life or death when you sleep
Consciousness plays as you drift very deep
Wrapping you up in an alternate life overnight
Sometimes you wake up just about to take flight

Sometimes you wake up just about to take flight
Like those times after gettin KO'ed in a bar fight
Doubled down on bad luck laid out on the floor
Took two bouncers to kindly help find the door

When deep rollers wind up in a dive
Too drunk to walk better not to drive
Unicycles with trailing training wheels
Kangaroos never slip on banana peels

What's wrong with being head over heels
Unless you're thing is doing cartwheels
Writing a poem to let those feelings emote
Spending time fishing and bailing the boat

* this seems like a good place for a footnote

what's wrong with being head over heels
jump-start electric cable shocks and thrills
lite jellyfish stings to make sure it still feels
sunshine & time is how a broken heart heals

forgetting to remember everything in between
the long road from nothing to having everything
workin seven to seven eighty hours a week now
to owner-operator CEO harvested seeds inc plow

sitting here counting down the days until Reality it finally leaves
pack it all up its time to go no more false hope left here to breed
when it's all said & done here at a better place where ends begin
transforming light darkness with new energy from special friends

a poem here to remind the truth
why time can't replace our youth
it's plain to see here runnin blind
paradise journey inside my mind

a poem here to remind the truth
Teddy bears ate that Baby Ruth
said to only wear gloves if they fit
error checking every stitch knit

nimble fingers spinning silk spindles
threading glass beads held on thimbles
jeweled Easter eggs with a foreign name
remember one had a tiny working train

what is that word I'm thinking about
seems the autopilot took a scenic route
reset cruze control back to Gandhi mode
engaging whisk brooms that feel the road

while on board in the back taking a nap
the pointed finger swept left on the map
hoping spell checkers catch there mistakes
at eighty eight feet per second how far it takes

Only wear gloves
If they fit
Recall OJ
You must acquit
Yourself of
Your own innocence

The incident
Was overblown
Cell phones only
Showed the road
Not the way you got there

Dear ms skeezix why did you quit
Using any of a whole line you see above
Tough to start a poem with just "yourself of"
I've tried to let it go and move on each time
But really hard when you use half a line
Perhaps just write a few longer lines
Honestly that would be just fine
I don't mean to sound unkind
Hope you really do not mind
Had no cream so no coffee
Or chocolate today for me
Maybe was peach bellini
Causing my irritability
Owe you an apology
Really I am sorry

Sorry I got loosey goosey with ya
Seems perfect way to be on Easta'
Thanks for taking my fuss so well
Another could have said go to hell
So grateful you didn't mind my honesty
What I love around here is we can be free
Glad to share any part of a line anytime
Really it's not like half a line is a crime

Another could have said go to hell
Chiller was nice and wished'em well
Started as a bar back working a sink
Minimum wage & too young to drink

Shakespeare's angry young man today
Take to the clouds what they wanna say
Spreading the message like oil on water
Planning futures beyond the next quarter

Puts a bet near the money on teeter toters
correctable typewriter ribbons and blotters
like a small ante in a no limit poker game
grub steaks for a prospector's gold claim

operators are ready to answer your call
visit our kiosk at the local shopping mall
newsletter of easy get rich quick schemes
Kung Fu Hustle Buddha Palm style dreams

Operators are ready to answer your call
Always on hold while you start to fall
Asleep when they purposefully let you wait
Don't call on your break or you're sure to be late
Think it could be the impatient state
We've all become with the digital fate
Attention span has grown quite small
Just gotta put up with the long lasting call
Without losing your mind from it all

without losing your mind from it all
picture perfect dreamscape rise tall
in this nightmare reality dream state
where u hold on tight & learn to wait

wait for your freedom here skipped on demand
grab the notepad and write songs for the band
stum a cord of discord harmony for more unity
peel back rose-colored glasses for eyes to C

take the red pill to feel the blue
this American dream is calling you
from rags to riches everything indeed
packaged up and sold as a soul unfreed

picture perfect dreamscape rise tall
lift like misty splashes in a waterfall
dripping dew drops on elk's horn ferns
reflect moonlight where spirit fire burns

an Enchanted mountain of legend and lore
wild flower fields and hidden caves to explore
granite blocks for building jetties and forts
skateboard parks funded by cruise liner ports

a chamber of commerce concerned about crabs
paying consultants to study solar powered pedicabs
knowing by now why the chicken crossed the road
considering costs of installing a low flow commode

Wild flower fields and hidden caves to explore
All seem familiar though never been there before
Perhaps it's a dream from another lifetime
Before you wrote in a sing-song sort of rhyme

Finding a peaceful place to sit down
Stalagmites and stalactites all around
Catching the light from the full moon
Creating an astoundingly beautiful room

Looking out across the field in flight
Dancing wild flowers come into sight
No more do you feel any rising fright
Reminded this is a magical night

Finding a peaceful place to sit down
When a bounce house came to town
Rollin down the road like a tumble weed
pursed by Dudley on his galloping steed

tether rope lassoed to the saddle horn tight
suddenly the soft plastic castle took flight
going airborne like a bumble bee box kite
all were caught on camera running a red light

tether rope lassoed to the saddle horn tight
imprisoned by love held captive by delight
smooth sailing trapped by invisible chains
another name for sensual Pleasure Pains

with what's her name lost in heaven
betting seven then rolled an eleven
too lucky negotiating sealed deals
rediscovered self-worth and perfection skills

with what's her name lost in heaven
let us pray her soul abides
in the place where poets die
and wither on their merry way
to a land of free word play
where half lines still have lives

to a land of free word play
saying hello goodby & hey
out the door of yesterday
living in the present now

summer burst of sunshine demands
shivering pleasure preheated hands
the touch of a soft lover undercover
forever ecstasy lost in angelic lands

Living in the present now
Still honestly learning how
Taught to breathe deeply
But seem to forget so easily
Best way I find is to dance
Really gives the mind a chance
To not be active while body moves
Fantastic music to feel the grooves
Like yoga for some it helps you become
A higher version of your person

still honestly learning how
living in the present WOW
look at the many blessings
a new love life filled with second chances

in a quiet state of afterthought
reflective mirror lessons taught
in the rearview need to explore
the better life of so much more

reflective mirror lessons taught
the opposite of what we thought
was our self and our own passion
seen now as a passing fashion
stripped of guile we throw away
thoughts of passed times, another day
dawns in glorious pink

dawns in glorious pink
the writing on the wall makes me stop and think
walking to the edge on the brink
the rise before the fall gives me a wink

when destiny called fate dreams
delight in what the future brings
close your eyes and drift away
tomorrow is a brand new day

Close your eyes and drift away
Let your mind relax with nothing to say
Let your body grow heavy and start to sway
Lay down on the ground where you can stay
Supported by the earth turning beneath you
Breathe more deeply like you're not used to
Finding yourself sleepy so you slip through
To another realm with a panoramic view
