Men over 55 ??Page 6 of 9    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
Hi ---some of us are here---but we have to resort to "creative marketing" to have any chance of meeting someone who might appeal to us.

Hahah! We do join. But we work out, have all our teeth, and lie about our age, just as some women do.
So if you search for 45 and over, we're here.

I pass for 10 years younger all the time, without soliciting the question about age.
NOT being fat, bald, toothless, and boring helps a lot. Being able to ski, snowboard,
surf, or skateboard your kids into the ground doesn't hurt the perception either.

That you lie about your age does not mean that all men (or even most men) over 55 lie about theirs. If you're subtracting 10 years from your age, you're delusional.

I recently raised my age limit to 57 from 55 because many women my age look older and are out of shape. Found some that look good after raised age

Your profile says your age limit is 56.

I thought the same thing when he said he passes for 10 years younger all the time.

I will just let you decide if I am viable or not with looks and conditioning.....and the age is the least of my worries......compared to all the other parts that are very important to me!!

The need to find someone that is mutually attractive, mutual chemistry, and compatibility, far outweighs what age they are compared to mine. If one is financially secure, independent, in decent shape and wanting the same from me, we are good to go....just as long as we both feel the same for each other......and that can be younger or older......as far as I am concerned!

We lie about our age? Dammit. Another missed memo. It's guy like this that give the rest of us a bad name.

Lying about age might impact ones opinion on an individual but shouldn't have much impact on overall 'hits'.

I doubt if many of those seriously looking for a relationship lie about their age but, even it they did, it would just knock those in the next age bracket down a notch. There would be lots of people 55 to 60 even if they were really 60 to 65.

Edited

I just put a search in for women ages 48,49 and 50 for my area.

Age 48.......927
Age 49.......1091
Age 50.......962

So, yup, 10-12% more woman seem to be at '49 years' than there should be. However, vast majority still probably honest about age.

I did a similar search in my area and didn't notice any statistical anomalies, the distribution was as expected, and I did both men and women. Maybe we in the USA are more honest? :)

We would have to examine a larger population to come up with any trends.

And I could likely do circles around you, but I am still the age I am.

The fact that you're married and lie about your age won't do well online or off- js- that your mental age has nothing to do with the number of people who will be attracted to you.

I'm 55 and I am happy I am. I would not have missed out on the 60's - 80's for anything. I would prefer to be with a woman more my own age, but the bottom line for me is what type of person is she. To find someone where we have that chemistry and there is that kindness and openness between us, that's a little more difficult due to ware and tear of the mind, but not impossible. I can easily get away with saying I'm 45, was carded into my 30's. But what is the point in lying. The truth will come out sooner or later.

Which brings me to the point of making this post. I don't want to be with any woman who would lie to me, period. For those who lie about their age (men or women) that is usually just the tip of the iceberg of the issues they are dealing with. So, it's not about your age or how much money you have, or how important you think you are, it's about being a good person, and allowing yourself to be honest with yourself about who you are. Just sayin...............

I wasn't LYING, Honey, I was being CREATIVE. Oh, puh-lease. Men (and women) who do this are fishing with stinkbait.

And Science Trekker, I am 49...and believe me, if a woman is going to lie about her age, she'd find a much lower number than 49. Woof! LOL!!

^^ Catch a lot of bottom feeders with stinkbait.

Just a guess, those that lie on a profile to catch their fish are looking for catch and release.

Here's a hint for men: If you want to pass for younger than 50, lose the moustache. Almost without fail, every man who sports a moustache is over 50-years-old---often he's over 55.

A lone moustache instantly "dates" a man, and is a dead giveaway of his true age---regardless of how fit he is, how much hair he has left on his head, or the condition of his teeth. He's fooling no one but himself.

You may be right most of the time when it comes to men over 45, but how about younger men? I have had a moustache since my early twenties. Back then I wanted to look older, later I decided I just liked the way it looked. (No, it didn't really make me look older because so many other young guys were doing the exact same thing.)

I grew my first beard in my thirties, regrew (and kept) it a few years later. I liked the look back then, but even more I liked the time it save me in the morning. (I was working a very-early-morning shift in those days, and I am not by nature an early riser.)

Do I look my age? Certainly. Would I look younger if I were clean-shaven? Perhaps. More likely, I'd just look like a clean-shaven 63yo instead of one with a beard and moustache. And after all these years, I'm not sure my friends would recognize me without the facial foliage. I'm comfortable with the way I look, and to be honest I prefer my face bearded.

My post was not directed at men with beards---it was directed at the guy who lied about his age and claimed he looked ten years younger than his actual age. Also, notice I said "lone moustache"----meaning a moustache without the accompanying beard.

There are men of all ages that wear moustaches along with a beard or goatee---those are fine. It's a moustache worn by itself that looks outdated and gives a man away as being over 50.
