Common 'run for the hills' lines you hearPage 4 of 7    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
I LOVE this thread! Many laugh-aloud moments, thanks for that, guys. I wish I could write wittily .

OK here are some things men say that make me run for the hills:

- My ex was a psycho / nutter / bunny-boiler / b1tch
- My ex complained that I was sex-mad
- My ex left me because she said I never had time for her

The above explain why I encourage a man to talk about his ex on our first meet. Saves me wasting any more time on him. Always listen to what his ex thought of him, ladies! It's pure gold.

I'm new to online dating and just want to take things slowly and see what's out there (their profile says seeking a relationship)

I still have 2 more guys I need to 'vet' before I make my decision...

I have a friend you might like. She has the same work schedule as you and she's a Leo too...

I have time to meet you on Sunday while I'm walking my dog.

The most common thing is references to their exes and how they got even with them, screwed them over, took them to the cleaners in the divorce and the such. I'm not talking about ladies who were beaten or cheated on, mind you, just ones that were married or in a LTR and things didn't work out. Yeah, a man really wants to have a relationship with a bitter and vindictive woman. Next!!!

I remember one woman said to me...here is a list, I want you to answer them all...this will tell me if you are worth talking to!
So yes I got a little riled up for her trying to put me on the spot, so I figured the best way to get rid of her lol!

The list was...
Do you live alone? (My reply...I do now, I just buried my ex in the back yard)
How much money do you make? (My reply...probably more than you but I will buy you a happy meal)
What kind of car do you have? (My reply...I drive an old rusty station wagon with a mattress in the back)
How close are you with your family? (My reply...I French kiss my mom before I get tucked into bed)
What do you do for fun? (My reply...I get together with a few buddies & pull a bukake on drunken women)

So that been said...she wasn't too pleased with my answers but I did get the point across!

My worst - sadly for me not on the first date but after 2 months.

"I am not a violent man.
The 4 women I hit all deserved it and I would do it again.
It was self defence."

I stood up and left

"Why are you leaving???"

"So the only thing Hitler did wrong was..."

Seriously... both were from the same guy. He was actually confused when I walked away.

I'm a bit confused (doesn't take much on these forums -- lol), but the original post and poster seems to be missing.

Lets keep this discreet, if I see you in public I will just ignore you.
We are adults here, lets forget all this dating thing and get down to it.

May I add one from a man I met a few years ago in real life and have not heard from in over 2 years. This is the message I received last night via text - yes I called him.
Gave the benefit of the doubt.
And then the gist of the phone conversation.

Happy New Year.
OK me slow.
Broke.
Doen it hard.
Sorry.

Have run out of money.
Camping rough in the bush. Have had to get a job.
Have not had credit on phone for the last 6 months.
How are you?
How is your business going?

Me, I'd find "I'm a conservative Republican" a dealbreaker line.

Good lord, Aussie, where do you FIND all these mouthbreathers.

I guess I probably heard most of those at some point, but just hung up the phone and forgot about them. I guess sometimes it's a good thing to have selective memory.

I've had those words said to me (you look better than your pictures) many times because it absolutely true. I know before I have my picture taken that it will be a disaster, the camera and I are not friends and never have been. I don't take it as a run for the hills issue but as a very nice to hear comment.

Hi LilliMarleen,

I wish I knew lol.

I think I have a flashing light on my forehead attracting them.

My favourite is of course... "Water does not exist in the vapour phase. There is no water in clouds."

At least it is original.

My favourite which was not said to me but to a female friend:

"Ohhh come on... no one will miss a slice out of a cut cake" lol

Luckily I do realise there are wonderful men out there.
You gotta kiss - or listen to - a lot of toads.

The only "run for the hills" comment I have gotten, that actually wanted to make me run, was I'm really 15, lol When in fact she said she was 20

"Okay so...you won't have sex until you're married..... Okay so...let's get married!"--lol.

Or here's one: "I won't have sex until I'm married (again)". :)

Says he likes living alone.

If he's single, he should like living alone! You want him having a desire to live with maw & paw, or even preferring to live with roommates?

Wants to take you on a first date to the lake.

Don't assume because a guy takes you out somewhere that doesn't cost much money for a first date, that means he's cheap. You'll need more than that. Usually out on a date, grabbing something to drink or eat at the beach would be had anyway. You shouldn't put guys in position to "prove" something in a guilty-before-proven-innocent scenario. :)

But all the rest are a-okay. :)

You are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on - either BS or you really need to get out more
