Are E. European Women Different?Page 2 of 3    (1, 2, 3)
I lived in Germany for 3 years and yes Europeans are WAYYYYY different. Where is your date from ? I know westren erupeans are very sexual people to say the least.. The ones from the east, such as around the Turkey area tend to be very conservitive...

I kinda dated a Russian girl once. She had just moved from Vladivostok a few years ago. Drove me crazy. Except for the part that she was a raging alcoholic.

I had a similar experience when I was working on a cruise ship, I was trying to get with this Russian girl and she did the same thing when we went back to my cabin to watch a movie. She sat on the chair while I sat on the bed (crew cabins on cruise ships are smaller than college dorm rooms...).

I am Russain and we can go to your house/cabin out of curtesy (spell check). But with a strong system of values we not expect men touch ua after the first date and create a situation that can increase his horniess. We will act with respect but prevent situations that may put us in uncomfortable situation ahead of time. She was pretty she knew it, you could get really horny in a private setting (and of course you already are and we know it).

She wants you to think she is sophisticated and hasn't been with many men. To make you feel special. Apparently it is working. That is a smart move. Only a woman who has been with lots of men would know that. Her previous 210 boyfriends felt the same way you do.

"E. European Women" is a uselessly inaccurate generalization as is "American women"

Only at that level of generalization: like most of America, "American women's" brains have been turned to insecure, conforming mush by the media, have been cultured to be eternal consumers, while their bodies have been turned into pathogenic flabbiness in constant need of expensive, repeated make-overs.

This is probably the same direction E. European corps and media are dragging the cultures, but they are decades behind the USA.

Another points is that an E. European lady living in USA as been acculturated completely differently than her American counterparts. All the social cues and expectations are different, esp for situations where a guy's priority is getting into her pants.

Transcultural relationships and marriages can be more difficult than same cultural, and are not really solved at all just because the "foreigner" speaks English. iow, the foreign lady is NOT just like an American lady but with a funny foreign accent. Again, generalizations.

I thought the OP just dealt with a woman who was shy and insecure (maybe). The fact she went to his place shows she was interested, but sitting on the other couch just made me think she probably was feeling as comfortable as you would hope. It was a first date, so I can understand.

As far as "Are East Europeans women different?" Different from what? ALL women are different. While there are some stereotypes that seem more prevalent in other cultures, you can't broad brush everyone and expect them all to act the same.

I love dating people with different backgrounds that myself, but it mainly because of the differences. You can't expect them to fit certain cookie cutter ideas of how people from that culture/country will act.

I dated a Romanian girl some time ago. I swear she could have been porn star Aria Giovanni's twin sister :). There was no limit to her trying to satisfy me and she was always ready for the "lovin'". I wouldn't hesitate to date another Romanian girl. That was a very memorable experience.

The qualities I have seen in Eastern European women:

1. Very independent emotionally and financially.
2. A bit cold at first by Western standards, and so hard to read.
3. Kind of reserved and secretive
4. Strong willed to a fault
5. Pretty tired of Eastern European men. Ha ha ha.
6. Very family oriented and therefore tied to their home countries
7. Very traditional about sex roles, who brings home the money/does the cleaning/etc.
8. Nuts
