no problem Star.

my mom and dad were short and I have scoliosis which shortened me by 4 inches.

I have a slight lean to one side but it's not very noticeable.

i'm OK with being short. I can still outdrive most guys my age by 10 yards or more.

Had to go back to see who had post#37 out of respect to the Ithaca Model#37. Would love to buy one of those.
We could get a few laughs out of this thread when gungrabbers post with legendary gun models and calibers. LOL.

County Sheriff : Homeowners need to take appropriate precautions to protect their families

A woman was at her Van Zandt County, Texas home when she became aware of a man attempting to gain access to the house through a side door. The woman retrieved a gun and shot and killed the intruder.

It was later determined by local media outlet KLTV that the home invader was a suspect in an arson investigation earlier in the week, had an extensive criminal record, and had only recently been released from the county jail on charges of failing to register as a sex offender.

Van Zandt County Sheriff Lindsay Ray expressed his support for the armed citizen, stating, “Presently, as the result of underfunding and inadequate staffing at the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office, homeowners need to take appropriate precautions to protect their families. I will continue to support the law abiding citizens of our community when they are forced to take actions to protect their lives, liberty and property.” (KLTV, Tyler, Texas, 02/10/15)
----------------------------------------------------------

Christopher David was at home asleep in Edmond, Okla. when his dog alerted him to a bat-wielding intruder. Davis met the criminal at the front door, but the man forced his way inside and struck Davis with the bat. Davis responded by retrieving a handgun and fired at the home invader, striking him and causing him to flee. The intruder retreated to a nearby house and was captured by police a short time later. Good news for pizza delivery girls in Maine: the state is looking to shed unconstitutional laws that restrict citizens from protecting themselves in public from people who think a pizza is worth more than someone's life:

Maine: “Constitutional Carry” Introduced in the Pinetree State

Friday, February 27, 2015

Today, Senator Eric Brakey (R-Androscoggin) introduced LD 652, “constitutional carry” legislation that would create a permitless carry exemption to allow a resident of Maine, who is not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, to carry concealed without obtaining a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP).

LD 652 would also leave the current carry permitting system intact for those who wish to participate in reciprocal concealed carry permit agreements when traveling to other states. This measure has received the support of 17 co-sponsors in the Senate as well as 79 co-sponsors in the House.

Children need far greater exposure to the Eddie Eagle training program.
The lessons are excellent and universal whether one is in favor of firearms or not.

IF YOU SEE A GUN:
* STOP!
* Don't Touch.
* Leave the Area.
* Tell an Adult.

^^What's your point?

That when you have something that is built to kill people you really need to closely regulate the ownership and use of said items.

These are not accidents, they are direct result of negligence.

Compared to the number of legally owned guns in the US.....these tragic "accidents" (by dumbasses) are a very small percentage.

And if it was your kid, I guess it would still be just a small percentage.

If you find these things that disconcerting... why aren't you fighting to pass laws to regulate them...? Why are you whining about others not doing the work for you...?

Geez man... Take a little personal responsibility... Show a little personal initiative...

See, they like cars & cigarettes. They dont like your guns.

They own & use cars & cigarettes. They dont want you to own or use your guns.

Their cars & THEIR cigarettes kill children, but thats OK. They dont complain about those. They dont want YOU to complain about them.

Secondhand smoke is especially harmful to young children. Secondhand smoke is responsible for between 150,000 and 300,000 lower respiratory tract infections in infants and children under 18 months of age, resulting in between 7,500 and 15,000 hospitalizations each year, and causes 430 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) deaths in the U.S. annually.

Come on,, nobody believes that claptrap. The next thing we know, some dumbbell will try to prove that doctors kill thousands of people every year. Imagine that. Everybody knows that guns are the scariest thing ever.

"In 2010, the Office of Inspector General for Health and Human Services said that bad hospital care contributed to the deaths of 180,000 patients in Medicare alone in a given year.

Now comes a study in the current issue of the Journal of Patient Safety that says the numbers may be much higher — between 210,000 and 440,000 patients each year who go to the hospital for care suffer some type of preventable harm that contributes to their death, the study says.

That would make medical errors the third-leading cause of death in America, behind heart disease, which is the first, and cancer, which is second. "
At least guns don't give you bad breath :)

3-year-old Tenn. boy shoots little brother in the head

“We lose eight children and teenagers to gun violence every day. If a mysterious virus suddenly started killing eight of our children every day, America would mobilize teams of doctors and public health officials. We would move heaven and earth until we found a way to protect our children. But not with gun violence.”

Media articles posted by HFX_RGB:
"...news articles with word gun / firearm /sidearm / handgun / rifle / shotgun listed in story..."

While undoubtedly tragic the reality is the majority of people will likely not view those Google news accounts as criminal in nature. They are horrible...yet people realize them in much the same way as a kid slipping past a gate and drowning in a swimming pool or similar unfortunate situation. A gunowner who resides 2000 miles away is very probably not going to turn-in his or her collection because a tragic event occurred with an unknown family elsewhere.

Senator Warren just doesn't get it. Nowhere does the Constitution protect our right to keep and bear viruses. Granted, a lethal virus would be effective in fighting tyranny, but the risk of backfire is orders of magnitude greater than with firearms. Plus, viruses lack the aesthetic and visceral appeal of firearms.

So, Senator Warren, fvck off! We LIKE guns...

Its especially comforting when someone's life is saved, especially a child's life..... by a gunowner defending him/herself & family from crazed charter member thuggernauts of the "legalize drugs" movement, including but not limited to card carrying members of the local "rob & pillage your neighborhood dwellings" birthright movement(which are all chapters of the "We want guns banned so We can rob/rape/pillage/assault Safely" National Union). ....

A Springfield, Mass. resident was at home with his 3-year-old daughter when a pair of brothers attempted to break inside.

The criminals appear to have believed the homeowner was someone else, referring to the resident by the wrong name, kicking the door, and shouting threats. The resident retrieved a gun, retreated to a bedroom, and fired at the criminals when they got inside the home. The gunfire struck one of the home invaders and caused both to flee. The intruders were captured by police shortly after leaving the home.

A local news report states that the homeowner was in compliance with Massachusetts’ onerous firearm licensing and registration regime. Springfield Police referred to the incident as “a justified self-defense shooting.” (The Springfield Republican, Springfield, Mass. 02/07/15)

A man who was high on meth attempted to carjack three different vehicles in Clay County, Ind. before being stopped by a Right-to-Carry permit holder.

First, the meth user attempted to gain access to a woman’s car, after which she used cell-phone to alert police. When this failed, the carjacker attempted to enter a vehicle holding three children. The criminal then stuck his hand through the passenger’s window of a third vehicle and attempted to unlock the door. The passenger sitting in the car, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded by retrieving a gun and leveling it at the carjacker, prompting the criminal to flee.

Police later captured the meth user at a nearby hotel. (The Brazil Times, Brazil, Ind. 02/09/15)

The owner of MiPueblo Food Store in Smith County, Texas was tending to his business when a customer alerted him to two suspicious men who had asked the customer what time the store closed.

Later on, an armed and masked man entered the store and attempted to rob it. The owner responded by retrieving a gun and exchanging gunfire with the criminal, killing him. The owner was not injured during the incident. (The Tyler Telegraph, Tyler, Texas 01/27/15)

Chris W. Cox, the Chief Lobbyist and Executive Director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action had interesting insights about President Barack Hussein Obama using his pen and phone in an attempt to undermine and circumvent the Second Amendment.

Working with a bipartisan group of Republicans and Democrats this week, they feel they will halt the President's order shortly. They are also poised to win in court, which would be a source of enormous embarrassment to the President.

In related news, people have no idea what the word "amendment" means, and or care about about the safety of their fellow citizens.

What I don't understand is how virtually everyone supports the ban on nuclear arms proliferation. Nearly everyone realizes that more nucs equals more deaths. Yet, gun supporters fail to see that the proliferation of guns throughout society equals more deaths, and yet they are ardent supporters of non-proliferation of nucs. While there may be a difference in the scale of danger between guns and nucs the analogy remains the same and yet gun lovers support gun proliferation and nuc non-proliferation.

I understand why liberals wonder why some of us fight for our Constitutional right, because most liberals don't see the erosion of our Constitutional rights as a problem.

Funny thing is liberals like to assert its relevance when they argue for things like Gay marriage and what not..

"most liberals don't see the erosion of our Constitutional rights as a problem. "
"our rights" - as in white men's rights? Yes, we have had too many breaks in life, beginning with the dreaded Constitution, so the Libs are out to save the rest of humanity by giving any poor slob who wanders across our border as many of those rights as possible.
The joke of it all is the endless procession of Lib leaders, one after the next pledging to save the world, nothing more than cheap crooks. Obama (and spouse), Clinton(and spouse), Al Gore and his multi-billion dollar money machine AKA global warming, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi. How many are "not" at the very top of the food chain, and who put them there?
