Too Tall?Page 4 of 7 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
Hey I would love to find a tall guy - I'm 5'10 - and most avg men are around my height, or 5'9...i find it hard to find tall guys. I would love to be able to wear heels (not that I am good at walking in them lol) and not be taller than my date...would love to be able to look up into his eyes...I seem to notice that tall men seem to end up with short women - i guess most women are on avg around 5'4 or so - i just wish they would leave the tall men for us tall girls ...oh well!

I'm really tall and I love heels I'm usually about 6'2 when I wear them. I like to stand next to extremely tall men because I feel normal sized, but the men that I've had long term relationships with (like my ten year prison sentence with my ex husband) have been within an inch or two of my height either taller or shorter. Tall skinny white boys are my favorite. Height is a turn on for me, but it's not a deal breaker.

I am 5'8 and would not have it any other way.....I dated a short guy once, I don't like it! I like tall guys over 6'. It's everyone's preference.

I'm 6'7" and even though I prefer tall women, short women are more available. Tall women like tall men, because when they wear heels they don't have to look down on a tall guy.

I understand the height thing very well. Although I'm not extremely tall for a woman, at 5'6" , if I want to wear even a 2 inch heel with a guy, it seems I'm right up there with them. Sometimes that feels awkward. And lastly, my last POF date said he prefers woman who are 5'2" or 5'3" since he's (well he says) 5'10"...and we've been on two dates?
Just this morning, I was watching a documentary about the tallest man in the world, at 8 feet tall, his primary wish was to have a girlfriend. I hope he finds one! :)

Been there, done that (5'6 as well). Sadly, I think the myth "Girls want a tall man" is true. It sucks feeling like a midget compared to all of the 6'0+ men with hot chicks wrapped around them in public.

I am 6'7" and I have actually dated a lot more shorter women than taller ones. I think the shorter ones are more attracted to height and taller women want their men only slightly taller than them. Everything lines up when you are in bed.

wow there's a lot of Amazon women like me on POF. I'm finding we are much sought after now- if POF is any indication. It was not always so, ay least for me. When I was younger, only the basketball team asked me out. Its much easier dressing now too- lots of places have slacks and sleeves in a longer length. And Zappo's has some wonderful stylish shoes we can wear. I think I'll stay tall.

Seriously?? Comon OP... seriously, what's with the insecurity and your "female friends" anyway??
6'+ guys can date any girl in general. Again we might come across a minority with preference but that a small case. More chances that you'll find match[s] along the height criteria with women 4'~ 6'+ around your "tallness".
Question is, "Would you give a woman taller than you a chance?"

^^LOL, the OP posted in this the forums in 2005. This thread has been resurrected. No need to respond to a POFer who is probably long gone.^^
OT: I'm barely 5' 7" and the only people that have issues with height are the ones bothered by it or just have a preference. Thank goodness I'm not. It is a preference of whether you like a person, tall, short, skinny, curvy, blone, brunette, etc. If I was looking, I'd date a tall lady. But to me, the most important things are personality and chemistry.

My personal motto is the taller the better, I am 5'3" and I'm dating a guy that I met on here that is 6'8" and I love it, from my personal experenice girls like tall guys. I'd think it would be harder for tall girls than tall guys.

I'm 5'4". I like tall men. I like short men, as long as they are not shorter than me.

I am 5'1 and prefer a man over 6'2. Makes me feel secure........ funny how that works.

<div class="quote">there is a thing called " your Own League", try to stick to it. Thanks
I disagree. Maybe there's a thing called "your Own League" for you. For me, the sky's the limit. I can't say for all men, but like some--I have and will never be intimidated by a lady's height--short to tall.
It's all about the personality and to see if we click. I know this because I dated a girlfriend for a over a year after I graduated high school who was 4" taller than me. We had no problems with it. And, when I was in my 20s, I dated three others than were taller than me as well. Height was never an issue.

Tallshyman, you might try removing those dreadful pictures and posting some becoming ones which include you smiling! You look really crabby or depressed. Not selfies--have a friend take candids of you in various locations and circumstances. Then pick the best ones. Also visit the Profile Review for advice on fleshing out your very boring profile. It's your advertising, so sell yourself well! When you post new photos and a revised profile, ask yourself "Would I be attracted to this person based on this?" If no, keep working at it. Being tall gives you an edge, so take advantage of it.

My grandfather was 6'4", and my grandmother was 4'10". They didn't seem to have any problems. On the other hand, my uncle was 5'8" and my aunt was 6'2". Again, no problems. But because many people feel awkward about their height, you may want to consider looking for someone at the opposite end of the height spectrum, so your children will be a somewhat "normal" height and not potentially suffer the same awkwardness. Just my thoughts.

I'm 6'2 and while I've dated shorter women I prefer taller. My current long term girlfriend is 6'4". Yup,you read that right. But then I am a leg man and taller women tend to be all legs.

Please... there is NO SUCH thing with women! Women LOVE tall guys! The taller, the better! Us short guys on here really can't relate to guys who say they're "too tall." That's like women who say they're "too attractive" or people who say they're "too rich." This is ridiculous, to me.
You're six foot six? You're seven inches taller than me. Try being us shorties (under six feet tall) and see how much worse it is.

5' 11" is not short. Are you sure you are being denied for this reason?

It must look quite strange. I can only speak for myself. WTF, I don' give a shyait what someone else thinks. A man's heighth, short, medium, tall, I don't care. I wear my 3-5 inch heels regardless of HIS height. I DO care if he is a gentleman, treats me with respect, AND keeps up with me!
