I didn't mean that literally. My FF is through One World and I use either BA or AA. All goes through my iPhone. I guess being a private pilot is ok for some; however, I prefer to let someone else do the driving. It's bad enough getting stuck in economy on rare occasion. I'll pass on the being in the driver's seat. :)

Dude, there is no grey in my hair. I do dye it black, but that is strictly for the Goth scene. My hair is still light brown. As far as showing your age, that is one thing. Viagra commercials still make me cringe.

No problem. No need to explain. Most women would prefer a younger man. Just aren't as many as willing and eager as young women.
Like that man who plays Wolverine. 16 years older wife.
Or that British guy who at 21 married his 42 year old producer. So, yes. No need to explain. You just have more options as a man. R E A L I T Y.

Wow, first time I have read through a whole thread.

I for one, do not get why anyone is so concerned with the way they look. It's called aging for a reason. I tell my kids, you spend your 20's trying to be somebody, your 30's trying to prove it, and after 40,,you just don't give a crap.

I like being 40. I survived many things in life and am much wiser and happier than I've ever been. I have no idea how I look because I really don't take time to look in the mirror. I am who I am, like me or hate me,,, I'm not changing.

I love when my kids ask me, how old are you? not because of the way I look , but because it doesn't matter. I am the mom to them, just as I am a friend to my friends.

You would think that at this age, people would be more comfortable with themselves, and not have to prove themselves. I find it quite sad when someone says one gender or the other has more advantage. Everyone has an advantage if you would just be happy with yourselves and not worry so much about what other people think.

You are not going to like everyone and not everyone is going to like you. that is life. Find what attracts you and run with that. I, for one, plan on enjoying the journey as we are only given one. Be smart in who you are, be confident in what you have to offer, and that is when you will attract the one for you.

Peace!

Blonde j Angel- Ok, I read through all ten pages,Whew! Things SURE can get interesting around here.
First of the skepticism from SOME that blond angel DIDN'T post this for a friend...pppffft! I don't have much more to say about that.
I'm not sure I can say things much better than Walts did with his first reply to this thread.
Sometimes I'm told I look young for my age, one of the people I went to high school with saw me two years ago and said I looked the same, honestly my first thought was in WHAT?! A fun house mirror?
Ok, my face has aged well and my legs still look good too, but the in between..... I'm 46, I've had three kids and you can tell, so what?!
I have 3 wrinkles on my face, worry lines on my forehead, I tell my children there is one for each of them :D
Whether or not someone gets stretch marks is genetic,it's has to do with the amount of elasticity in your skin, that's why men can sometimes get them too.
A woman's breasts usually head downward as they age, not always, but usually.
Women with smaller breasts MIGHT get spared, as breasts are mostly made of fatty tissue. (I'm not judging small breasted women, I wouldn't mind if mine were smaller, I HATE bras)
I'm pretty sure what Blonde Angel was TRYING to say, is that her friend can look past what is on the surface and appreciate a woman for what she is inside and out.
I DON'T understand the flack over this!
Like Eric said, why can't we just get along?!
I DON'T look like I did at 20, no one does, sorry.
However, I would pick the 46 year old me, time worn and aged, over the 20 year old me, naive and a bit clueless, any day.
I'm older, but I'm wiser and thank GOD for it!
My grandmother was pretty fond of saying,"getting old is better than the alternative".
Can I get an AMEN?! ;)

We live in a material world and when the material deteriorates life is essentially over, yes there are things like wisdom, experience etc etc but I would rather live a bad day young, healthy and full of youthful enthusiasm with opportunities, hopes and dreams ahead to be achieved or not than a good day with a worn out body and wisdom, maturity and experience with most if not all opportunities over and done with, and left days late and a dollars short.......take a good long look around you and ask yourself what good is wisdom, experience and maturity in this world.

^^^That post sounds like depression talking.

I would rather live a bad day young, healthy and full of youthful enthusiasm with opportunities, hopes and dreams

I do this every day. (Well, maybe not the "young" part, but I still feel I'm 17 most days. I made a decision in my teens that I wasn't going to let life break me in so many ways as it had so many of the adults around me.) Why don't you feel this way every day?

I've found that major lifestyle changes can renew one's spirits.

The partial quote may make it sound that way but I am simply being realistic,of course "reality" is subjective but there are some things that just are....aging is a tragic circumstance of human existence and to say it is better than the alternative points to another tragedy which is death it's self....both age and death reduce the most beautiful, graceful, wise, intelligent and kind to an empty shell buried in the ground....the common fool follows the same path.I can't find any flowery words and phrases to dress that up....and lets not forget the common insult of things like Alzheimers which takes all wisdom and knowledge one has gained in life....along with what your name is and who your family are......start in diapers and end in diapers in a society that places little to no value on old folks....yeah,its all good.

^^^^ At least you still have a full head of hair LOL

What you're saying about life is true but why focus on the negative ?
It won't change it so why not accept it by focusing on what you still DO have vs what you've lost ( youth )

Just sayin

Oh noooo... I have to disagree.
We all get an opportunity to experience both...(if we are lucky). Life IMO is an ongoing test of our true character. We have one opportunity after another to prove to ourselves what we are really made of. Some of the bravest people I have known have been seniors.

I'm not thrilled with the prospects ahead, but I'll be doing my best to deal with whatever comes with age in my own way.
I wouldn't trade a minute of my hard earned street smarts and mature wisdom to go back to the beautiful, youthful but clueless version.

I agree with Curious, the comment below does sound like depression talking.

As the author of the post please forgive me for speaking bit of truth within a moment of time on a public forum something other than the giggly escapist nonsense that is the norm....I will attempt to redeem myself by reciting a collection trite banalities.

"I'm not getting older i'm getting better"
"I'm aging like fine wine"
"You are only as old as you feel"
"age is just a number"
"80 is the new 40"
"Age is mind over matter,if you don't mind it doesn't matter" etc etc etc etc

I know and have heard them all until I am sick of them.....age is a tragedy.

You are entitled to your way of thinking about aging. And as far as 'reframing' every negative in life into something positive, no...we shouldn't do it if we feel otherwise.
A lot of us have felt otherwise, and tried to keep it real instead of putting a sunny face on life's cruel jokes. I really value your honesty.
But as someone who has crawled out of feeling I was "screwed" many times, I really hope you find your way through it.
I found a way to roll with the punches, and found a place of happiness. It is possible.

It's kind of difficult to say "I told you so" after the end. Maybe I will include it in my will - "Everything did not come out okay, just so that you know."

NOT aging is actually more of a tragedy

Quoted for truth LOL

Was sitting at my brothers shop this morning, a man walked in who I vaguely remembered and I said "Good Morning". He snarled "whats so good about it?". Recovering quicker than I normally do I said, the sun is shining, I am looking DOWN at the grass and am able to take nourishment!!!!! After he left we talked about living with such a bad attitude towards life.

You must practice the Canuck custom of just saying " morning" stating the obvious - and avoiding the snark remarks. :/

Strings6- Age is a tragedy?!
So, you feel like we are better off dead than getting older?
That mind set seems tragic to me.
At exactly what age do we become "tragic"?
I'll be 50 in a few years,is that my expiration age?
Getting older isn't always fun, I don't think ANYBODY would say that, but we are going to get older or die, that is the reality.
I'm in agreement with the person who said this sounds like depression talking, I hope you don't think you are tragic because you have aged, I doubt your friends and those who love you would agree.
I don't think accepting aging as gracefully as you can is "giggly, escapist nonsense."

Who says death isn't "everything coming out okay?"

In death we are completing the circle of life, and taking our place in history. We have learned about every kind of loss, faced our own challenges, and loved, if we have done it right. What is so tragic about death?
We have all been guaranteed an expiry date.
