ok.....gotta chime in on this here thread....

1. My ex fiance gave me a ring to supposedly keep me satisfied. I did NOT ask him for a ring, but he basically knew that I wanted to marry him. He should have been so lucky.
2. I was and still am financially independent. I did NOT depend on him to support him.
3. In reality, he did not want a financially independent woman. Do you know why? Because he could not control me with his money.
4. He also told me that if we were to marry, he'd want a pre nup. No problemo cuz then he'd be signing my prenup as I had properties to protect, and my pension. I retired early at the time but then went back to work in a different profession.

He then treated me like crap. I left after 10 years together. He never wanted to marry me. He said he did not need to be married.

And then he starts dating a younger woman. She was not college educated or a professional like me. Did not make a lot of money. But oh what a trophy he had....a younger woman. He made her quit her job. But she said only if he would marry her. And he did. She ain't going anywhere. She is his prisoner now.

Mitigating the snoring thing

snoring all depends on the decibel level achieved..

I can tolerate it somewhat
say if you got a cold
but if you are peeling the paint off the walls
and we gotta bring a crew in to stablize the foundation of house?
ya then we got a problem

The whole issue of snoring is a little bit silly.

There are easy ways to minimize how it bothers you.

You get those little soft ear plugs and put them in at night. You won't hear much, you'll sleep just fine while the other shakes the house. I had a gal friend tell me this trick, and yes, it does work.

Or if it really is that bad, they probably have sleep apnea and need to go see a specialist. CPAP machines work wonders.

Yuge difference between how movies portray ppl sharing a bed and what can actually happen.
For a number of years my husband walked in his sleep - I would have preferred the snoring

I may be older(56), but after my wife passed away(I was 51 at the time), I had no want to be with another woman, my wife was the love of my life. I know that I'm a rarity, but it's now been 5 years since she died, and I'm just thinking about dating again...yes, and also 5 years without sex. To me, sex isn't everything with a relationship, it's a bonus. Sure there are guys and gals that just want a wam-bam- thank relationship. But not all men or women are that way. Sorry, I guess that I'm old fashioned. If a woman(or a guy) wants to dye their hair, make-up, eyc. to feel younger or sexier...that's good for them.

I always just thought of snoring as white-noise sleepy-time music...just a sound that says that it's time to sleep, and will put me to sleep. That's how you do that. Don't need no ocean surf or rain music.

I am 50 and a few months. I have never been married. I have been in a few relationships that failed. I would find out that she's married and forgot to tell me, or something. I would like to find a lady that actually tells the truth. That is my biggest challenge. I really want a lady with a pretty mama. Another challenge is that I don't smoke, drink, cuss, or chew. And I don't date girls that do. I don't do the bars and I don't know where to go to find company anywhere else. Any suggestions?

That post was funny! I'm glad I don't snore or sleep-walk.

Best places are grocery stores and hardware stores. Grocery stores with long checkout lines give you lots of time to chat up the ladies, exchange recipes, and check out their baskets to see if they have family commitments. Hardware stores on the w/e are full of single/divorced/widowed ladies staring blankly at the selection of screws and plumbing parts wondering how to get their shelves secured or their toilets working again. Easy pickings if you are at all handy. If not, go to the sewing sections of millenry stores and stare
blankly at the needles and threads. Eventually a woman will take pity on you and strike up a conversation.

hmmm....seem to recall going to the hunting section of a dept store one fall day
standing there with a deer in headlights look
staring at all the boxes of ammo on shelf
and the numbers my oldest son had scrawled out on a notepad
for me to find

there were a couple of middle aged guys
who were very helpful
called me sweetheart
and were quite eager to help me find what I was looking for

Ever shoot a buck between the eyes darling?

The smell that follows the ejecting shotgun shell promotes a sense of safety and quells any anxiety you feel.

You shouldn't shoot a buc with a shotgun, huh?
