Chump's a hair away from wiping out economic gains and sending his voters into part-time income. Even if there was some sort of Dem scandal, it will be eclipsed if Chump ruins the economy. B/c every time a Republican destroys the American economy (Bush savings and loan scandal, Bush II mortgage bubbles), America puts in a Dem for 8 years to clean it up.
The Dems could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as usual, and voters will still go, "wow, we have deficits, a trade war, our tax cuts are sunseting, and now inflation...we need to go back to Hope and Change again, see if we can get some insurance at least". the old joke used to be, Chump was a Democrat plant to destroy the GOP. If Trump can undo his record of failure (for example, the Carrier deal that gave Carrier $7 million in tax payer money to get rid of American jobs it planned to get rid of anyway), not use an attempt to give North Korea all the attention its wanted since the war came to a truce as cover for his scandals (Stormy Daniels, Russia collusion, rotating staff and chaos in the White House), then there's a chance something good can be done with North Korea. Or as SecState Tillerson says, it could just be a talk, and Trump can put that on his resume as the first prez to do that.
