We can correct that really quickly; repeal the Civil Rights Act. Prior to that we had height, weight requirements for cops. In order to accommodate women those requirements went out the window.

a police officer being height and weight proportional does not mean they would have the ability to outrun a teenager, and repealing the civil rights act which would get rid of Women police would probably be the answer to your wishes and cause police to protest and walk off the job, except the many that rather not have women on the police force anyway

but why go to all that trouble of trying to get the civil rights act repeal...it's inevitable that police officers just like soldiers will be replaced by drones

Pumpkin fest in Keene NH during the fall of 2014. Mostly white college students committed arson, vandalism, threw beer bottles at police etc.

I never said that there was looting or the specific details of the Keene NH riots were exactly the same as Baltimore. However people did set fires, vandalized street signs and other property, threw things at the police etc. Keene NH won't be holding Pumpkin Fest this upcoming fall due to the damage.

I lived in a "black" ghetto neighborhood where my parents owned a business. With the exception of the people who owned the carry out across from us we were the only "white's" on the block. 6 blocks from my house was where the "race riots" started after a white officer was shot on Dorr St. in the tensions after the Detroit riots. Buildings burned and we were scared we would be targeted. I remember my dad staying home from work and "guarding" the house/shop. We were spared. Oh and down the block we had the headquarters for the local chapter of the Black Panthers.

I can tell you after 50 years, I can still remember how awful it was during that time. There is no person black, white, red, yellow or purple who should have to fear for their families safety, nor should a child have to feel their parents fear.

Two more noble, innocent, law-abiding Police Officers dead at the hands of black thugs.

Is this so commonplace that it barely made the news? Again I ask, where is the outrage?

Just this Saturday, May 9th, 2015 another two cops were murdered by black thugs:

Officers Benjamin Deen, 34, white and Liquori Tate, 24, black were making a traffic stop Saturday evening when they were shot, Mayor Johnny DuPree said. They were taken to a hospital, but did not survive.


Deen, who Mayor DuPree said was married with two children, was a K-9 officer who earned his department's officer of the year honors in 2012, according to The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi.
Tate graduated last June from the police academy. His excitement at joining the force was clear as he trumpeted the news on Facebook.
Tate was black, Deen was white

Liquori Tate had not been on the force even a full year when his life was cut tragically short. The 25-year-old had graduated from the police academy in June 2014, reports the Clarion-Ledger, when he gushed on Facebook:
'I graduated the Police Academy today. I am now a Police Officer. I would like to thank God, the Police Academy, the Police Department, my family, friends, and love ones,' he wrote.

I had a brief conversation with my father a couple of days ago concerning this very thread.
You see, my father is a retired Kansas State Highway Patrol trooper (1953-1983). On three occasions he turned down promotion because, as he put it, he preferred sitting behind the wheel of a pursuit car to sitting behind a desk.
Neither I, nor my dad, can speak for other agencies but, each and every member of the KHP has sworn an oath of office. Dad hasn't a doubt in his mind that a vast majority of troopers would hold true to their oath, honor their fellow troopers, the public they have sworn to serve and these fine men,

A march by hundreds of thousands of cops and consequently not being able to report for duty would wake up just how necessary cops are if we are to have a civilized society.
Having "cops" report for duty does not help us maintain a "civilized" society.

A civilized society is made up of people who know right from wrong and choose not to do wrong. You don't need police for that ... you just need proper mentors and a caring community. We are all products of our environment. Having community programs that are manned by both community leaders and police have really helped in a lot of the deteriorating neighborhoods here in Columbus.

Unfortunately, city budgets have been stretched to the limit and the first things that usually fall off are such programs. Even if the staff are all volunteers, the buildings and equipment still have to be maintained and that's just not in the budget. On the other hand, I can understand the budgets being stretched when you consider how much they have to pay out for misbehaving police officers.

They pay that "van driver" over $105,000.00 a year to give prisoners (who haven't been found guilty of anything at that point) a "rough ride" to jail. Hmmm ... history repeating itself? Ten years before, a van driver did the same thing and that prisoner also died. So now there is a second Baltimore man who is dead of spinal injuries after being picked up for a supposed minor offense and loaded into a police van. Back then, the two police officers were found civilly liable and there were no criminal charges.

Now we're hearing that the city of Baltimore has paid out over $5 million ($5.7 million) in police brutality settlements since 2011. I'd say that can do a good job on depleting a city budget ... eh?

The idea of LEO's protesting working conditions. They know, from the onset, that their lives are at risk every time the don the uniform and step out amongst the public.

Something a lot of the general public doesn't consider concerning those who choose to swear the oath or take a vow and wear the badge is the LEO lifestyle. I won't say all but some pull a twelve hour tour of duty, like my father did. Then there are the occasions when they are called Back to duty after only two, or maybe ten, hours of down time because of duty requirements.

One instance sticks in my mind, because it involved my dad and the fatality was a friend of mine.
I awoke to find that dad had turned on the tv and was watching the ant races. Those old enough to know about tv sign-off know about the ant races. It's that squiggly sh!t with the funky hum after station sign-off.
I learned later of Andy's accident. He'd flipped his T-top Trans-Am. Andy had been partially ejected from the car through the T-top, and he was but a smear along KS 56. There was also a diaper bag, diapers, bottles and other baby related items strewn along the roadway for well over a hundred feet. A rather intense search of over thirty minutes was conducted to determine whether the child had been in the car. Through some grace of God, the child was found with nothing more than a few minor cuts, scratches and bruises. The child seat, along with cattails and soft mud, saved that child. It was after the fact that dad was tasked with informing Andy's wife of the accident, escorting her to the morgue and standing by her side before the table that held what was left of Andy.


Hondo: No LEO worth his salt would jeopardies his position by protesting, let alone walk off the job in a "blue flue" manner. They don't swear their oath to the city. They don't swear that oath to the state. That oath is a Vow to the citizens, to be there, in whatever capacity, when they are needed.

Those of you who wish to say that a few bad apples spoils the barrel, better think again.
There are many, Many men and women who take the oath, polish their badge and don the uniform.
They're just like you and I. They have honor, kind hearts, kids at home as well as dreams and desires for a better future. The main difference is they swore an oath, they don a uniform, badge and gun, and they see horrors, first hand, that you and I only see on TV.

Over the past few weeks, there have been a number of violent events and public demonstrations that have dominated news coverage in outlets across the nation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those communities as they look to rebuild. It should go without saying that the officers protecting the citizens in those cities are facing an incredible challenge—we encourage them to be ever vigilant as they try to keep the streets safe. In Los Angeles, we are all aware of the dangers we face every day as we work to fulfill our duty to protect and serve our communities, and have asked our own members to take special care, particularly in this time of heightened tension.

How is it possible that the citizens in these communities are not outraged? Their protectors have bullseyes on their backs and no one seems to care.
We simply cannot stand for these horrendous acts of violence, and urge the public and media to demand swift justice for these fallen officers just as they would for a civilian life. Something must be done—police officers are serving to protect and instead are being killed on the streets.
This is a terribly sad time for police officers and departments across the country, and the law enforcement community bows its head in mourning. But that is not enough, and we cannot fight this fight alone. While we will continue to attend officer funeral after officer funeral, it must be on the public to raise enough attention and concern in their local communities to ensure that officers around the country are protected.
If officers continue to be consciously targeted and murdered in cold blood and little to nothing changes in the eyes of the public, what will happen? What have we as a society become?

We had a police office killed and his partner wounded here in June, both shot by a piece of shyt white guy. Criminal activity knows no colour (unlike the racist poster). Did the police protest, no. Was there a need to protest, no. What we had was a national funeral, a funeral attended by every police force in Canada, police forces from the U.S., police forces from Europe as well as first responders from the fire department, park services and the armed forces. They were about two thousand strong and they marched from our legislative building through the downtown core to where the funeral was being put on. The streets were lined with people, just ordinary folks. People where looking out office windows showing support.

This is how we do things here. The picture I have up is with the Toronto Police Pipe Band taken after the funeral, I bought them beers as they came a long way to show support for their brother.

We had another police officer killed in January, by a piece of shyt white guy. Sad.

Crime IS down, it's down in your country and mine. Those with racist leanings will continue to bring up "black thug" violence and there is not much any of us can say to sway the closed mind of a racist and fear monger. Hell, a white gay just shot up a movie theatre and this poster did t mention that. I don't recall her outrage at the white gut with guns at Sandy Hook Elementary.

It's pretty predictable in its inconsistency-- the Sean Hannity crowd will hail law enforcement as the greatest heroes this nation has ever seen, whether acting with professionalism or not, when it comes to incidents with "those uppity blacks." But when it comes to (white) gun owning, anti-government types going up against law enforcement, whether the officers are acting with professionalism or not, they constitute the very weapon of tyranny.

Do the citizen's get to be armored and have all the military might, Star Wars costumes, rubber bullets and pepper sprays that the police use on protesters to break up these protests? Do they get to send in provocateurs dressed like police to raise hell, smash a few windows, burn a few family cars so that the dim wits watching the "news" coverage of these protests they can blame the violence on the police? Will the police have to give days warning and their route to the citizen's? Will they get rounded up if they stray off course? Who's going to pay for the plastic zap strap handcuffs?

The police officers shouldn't killing/brutalizing and start protecting ALL PEOPLE.

Racists should not get to raise, teach, "protect" or otherwise "help" kids.

Since posting this I learned that the poor cop who was murdered had been involved in a fight with the vile thug that murdered him. I am not certain as to what extent a police officer can protect himself but I would think that the moment a perp lays a hand on a cop he has the right to shoot him. This cop, I am certain, hesitated to properly defend himself given the current climate, the demoralization of police officers. And it cost him his life. The officer was probably afraid that if he aggressively defended himself he’d be charged with murder or some other felony.

The guy who drove the murderer, the guy who sat in his auto and watched as his passenger and buddy fought with the officer, and did nothing to assist the officer; the guy who just drove off leaving a mortally wounded officer to die in the street was arrested and released! This abhorrent excuse for a man aided and abetted a murderer, a felony! And he was not charged! He should be charged with murder along with his passenger!

That is easy to figure out, just count the number of people killed by cops and count the numbers of cops killed by people, and see which is the bigger number.
