ahhhh, Manually Set DNS Servers for DSL.

Sometimes computers are unable to retrieve DNS server addresses correctly, or it is not passed out correctly from your DSL modem or router. ....Double click on "Network Connections"

Then don't use the /flushdns switch command.

This happens quite frequently for me. Won't connect at all. Other sites are fine. Then 5 minutes later, it works fine. Works great for a bit, then "lather, rinse, repeat". Same on both the main site and the forums. It's almost like the DNS drops off the servers or something. The site just doesn't exist.

BTW, I use AT&T/Yahoo for my ISP. If others are having the same trouble and they're using the same ISP, it very well may be their DNS server.

Hi J3LV3HL_WV3JP , yes its still exactly the same here, different ISP etc too (am in UK) . The really weird thing is that the fix is either (A) wait a few minutes, a few being anything 1-30, or (B) reboot the PC - that is guaranteed to work for me.

I'm absolutely baffled by this. If it is a site issue, why does rebooting the pc fix it, and if it's a pc issue, why does not doing anything for a little while fix it?!

Is everyone using WinXP? I know I am, so I'm just trying to find a common thread.

Yes, it does seem to be an XP only problem- unless someone else knows otherwise.

Fucking Google. Gawd damn it. Evil shit.

Google's idea of "safe browsing"

http://help-i-me.blogspot.fr/2014/07/how-to-disable-google-safe-browsing.html

Delete the whole string outta about:config in FF.

Site loads just fine.

Yup, POF is considered "malicious" now for security certs, freakin half ninnied.

pffffft. Step by step. The site still has bad security packets that drop everybody in certain routered sections at once....Have to close browser and do a command prompt ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew.

Seems to be history stuck with SSL layer in browser has to reload.

They are using two different certs for the forums and for the dating side.

Prolly no absolute fix.

Some cyphers are out of date and hackable.

Too many user devices on Netflix? Direct connect instead of wifi , and also they want you to use Chrome for the browser for Silverlight. I was checking out Hulu....hey, 225 channels!

I seem to have established a bit of a fix for this. Instead of rebooting the PC every time that POF won't load, which takes a good 3-4 minutes overall, press and hold down the F5 (refresh) button for at least 20 seconds, then release it,then press and hold it again for another 5-10 seconds. Mafically POF will load again. Tried it on Opera and Firefox and it works the same on both.
