I live in Canada, near the U.S. border. Food is way cheaper in the states.

A small sub and a drink at Subway in my city is close to ten bucks. We like to go out for dinner and shopping over the ditch ( aka the Niagara River, which separates Can from US) but we go much more frequently when our dollar is closer to par with U.S. Right now the loonie is low, worth only .80 to the U.S. dollar.

Almost every inexpensive meal has a component of cheap, starchy filler----pasta and meatballs, meatloaf with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, tacos, chicken and rice, dahl and naan, shepherds pie, noodle casseroles, and of course stretching a meal with bread and/or potatoes on the side. Sure, it tastes good and it's cheap, but eating an abundance of bad carbs is not and ideal diet.


What's funny about that list is that most of that would be common meals up until about 20 years ago, plus deserts & Jello of course. Those days when people say people ate healthier than now. Plus there were lots and lots of Coke or Dr. Pepper in lots of homes, people drank it instead of water. And we all drank lots of whole milk, my mother used to tell me that milk & bananas were the two most perfect foods.

Ok, even though women's dress sizes are rather bizarre, I know what women I've dated wore. Tallest woman I dated was around 5'9 or so and she was a size 6. She was extremely athletic and 125 lbs, so possibly a size 8 for someone of average build at that height. Women I've dated who were in the 5'2 to 5'4 range were size 2 to size 4 and maybe 105 to 115 lbs. They were an average build, not particularly athletic nor skinny. You can believe I'm wrong all you like, but ultimately what matters is body fat percentage and I really don't see a woman with a healthy body fat percentage being a size 10 unless she is really tall and has large breasts.

So, you're saying that a woman who wears a dress size in the single digits - 0-8 (U.S.) are not overweight (per 30%) and the double digits, 10+ are varying degrees of fat. Although an atheletic woman should weigh more than an unatheletic woman of the same general build since muscle is denser/heavier than fat.

I wrote incompletely when I said you were wrong; what I meant was that a woman who wears a size 10 would not necessarily be 'overweight' according to your stated standard of 30% body fat - not that you were wrong in considering a size 10 as 'fat' (since that is your perception or choice - it can't really be 'wrong'). I found a size chart correlating dress size to weight and you're pretty accurate - although size 12 goes up to 155 pounds, so I'm not entirely incorrect either; a size 10 person is not necessarily 'overweight' ( - possibly tall and/or breasty and/or atheletic), but not always overweight.

It was an interesting and enjoyable 'discussion'.

For me it's always been about MOVING....

While aerobic exercise is great for the heart, it will take FOREVER to burn enough calories/fat in oder to be an effective way to lose weight....

Light weights as well as resistance training will just melt the weight off...and I have tried every diet and exercise regime know to humankind.
That and eating healthy, which CAN be done on even the tightest budgets, is the key, for me.

There are MANY sites out there with healthy and cheap alternatives to fast food and/or junky food that has little to no nutritional value....

It really IS as simple as eating right and finding the type of exercise that does YOUR body 'good'....

Explain that your time is important, would she mind taking a selfie with the date written on a piece of paper.
That way you won't waste your time.
I think it's terrible that men and women misrepresent themselves.
When I do a meet and greet, during the first phone conversation I tell people to have no expectation.
If we have chemistry fine, if not, I or we have potentially met or made a new friend.
Keep it simple.
First meeting should be a walk in the park or a coffee shop or something short.
That way you can run the other way if need be.
Just sayin with respect, keep it simple. It works for me.

I cannot tell you how many women have said they do not like bald guys or guys over a certain age. So if you have a preference for non fatties then let it be know. Being bald is a genetic trait not a sign of poor health. Being overweight usually implies poor health choices, poor diet, lack of exercise, low self esteem, dying early, not much fun sharing physical endeavors and so on. It is normal for a man to seek a healthy looking partner. Unfortunately the bulk of western women are over weight. That is why they call this site plenty of flesh.

If over weight people are not your thing than state that on your profile. I know it may seem harsh to people, but getting that out in the open would be best. Now if she states she is thin in the body type section when she is clearly not then there is an issue. It is not a bad thing to have a type. If your type is thin women state it. But remember people that have extra weight are just as good as thin people, keep that in mind. I don't have full body shots on my profile and I have stated I have an average build which is true. But not everyone is that truthful. ALSO she could have the body type you are looking for but doesn't like to post full length pics of herself....There is no polite way of asking for a body shot without sounding like a douchecanoe. All I can suggest at this point is to go on the date, if she is not your type then tell her that she is not what you expected and leave politely...Do NOT lead her on the whole night

Check the main ingredient in Walmarts moist and meaty dog food and you will find it is corn syrup. They even try to fatten up our darn dogs. gross i will not feed that to my dog.

I was just trying to defend the guys right to have a preference and the idea that there are deep seated biological preferences built in to the human mind. Nothing personal. Yes i am as heavy as i have ever been but i am also 65 and that is me in the tree i climbed. In truth it was not easy being bald early on and women were not very nice about it. Lucky for me i had a real good women. It made me want to excel in more than just looks. What does not tear you down will build character and you will excel somewhere else. At least that was my plan.

The problem isn't necessarily the fat women per se. The main problem is that the definitions of western society of what is really fat is skewed and the line keeps moving. So many women on here put average or thin, when in reality they are nowhere near that. Hence it is completely pointless for a man to put a preference for 'thin' on his profile, because he'll get the hippo who thinks she's thin charging towards him. Delusion is the issue, not fatness per se.
