I'm still wondering how the hormonal treatment transgenders get affects their sexual orientation. If a straight guy turns into a woman, would the new she now be attracted to guys-and vice versa with trans women turning into guys? If a guy turns into a woman, but still has a penis, can that trans woman still get a hard on?

^^^^ Maybe do a Google search or watch a documentary. Better to close you mouth and have them wonder if you're a fool rather than open it so we all know for sure. Or are you just wanting to make it all sound smarmy so you can sleep better at night.

I do not think there is a man or woman alive that would choose being gay, lesbian or transgender. None. And when someone disparages what they don't know or understand or wants to know and understand, it makes me question their heart, mind and character as well as intelligence in how they would treat their own child or loved one if they stated they were "different".

Who cares? It effects you how?

I would say that I can't believe some of th comments on here but there is ignorance and intolerance everywhere as well as a few uneducated rednecks. Some of you should spend a little more time worrying about the rise of Trump, like the rise of a new Hitler. Leave the handful of folks like Jenner alone as I'm sure the only place she, and those like her, are truly safe and happy is within the privacy of their homes. There are only a few thousand like her but there are millions of idiots out there.

^^^You can't handle discussing a topic like a human being? Then what species of animal are you, or are you extinct? Review the thousands of posts and point out every post that does not directly affect you or the poster. Are you going to hunt them down to tell them to not talk about something that doesn't directly affect them, and call them names like a 4 year old? Who appointed you sheriff of the forums, to decide who can discuss what? Here's a novel idea: If you don't like what topic is being discussed, move on to another topic, or is that too hard to understand? Or are you vying for the crown of Crazy B1tch of the Forums?

You can't be serious. "....,can that trans woman still get a hard on?" What, are you 12? You ask the same type of question a 12 year old would. All that shit about "do they call her Mom now or Dad". Juvenile.

If YOU want to discuss a topic like a human bing instead of 12 year old, post or pose a question like a adult human being. Or do some research. And yes, you're free to post what you want and guess what, I'm free to do the same. So I'm a b1tch, you're an azzhole. Whatever. I'm not the one asking questions like a 12 year old.

Oh, so I see that you are not allowed to ask question. Just shut up and dance, yeah?

I agree. We should not pay for sex exchange surgery anymore than for an eyelift or facelift that has nothing to do with your ability to see or eat. VANITY.

You know, Cassie, if you are a male pretending to be female, I would not deliberately be rude to you. I wouldn't want you around but if I came into contact with you, I would treat you cordially like any other stranger.

I do not agree with you and the rest of the PC pretending with you so that You can use the girl's bathroom. Why does my opinion affect YOU, personally? I also would not refer to you as the sex you are not. As I said, I would simply say,"You, with the blue shirt" or whatever.

Your name calling and foul language does not a better point make. Just means that you concede losing the argument ( if there is one, because most of us are not arguing, just sharing our opinions, which do not affect you personally at all so why do you care so much? How do our opinions affect YOUR life? These opinion AFFECT you how?

So if I were a "male pretending to be a female"... or a transgender that has had hormone treatments and maybe some surgery...you "wouldn't want me around"? Why? I don't think transgender is contagious. But you "wouldn't want me around"? Really? It bothers you that much?

As for questions, if that poster had asked "how long does the hormone treatment last" or "are they on hormones for life" or "is it mandatory to hpget psychological counselling before any treatment, hormonal or surgical"....I get those questions. But to say " do they still get a hard on" like a 12 year old, yeah, I'm going to comment. And he is an azzhole and I can be a b1tch. And you are passive agressive, can't quote, pull info out of your butt and never back up your comments...oh, and Jeromes law, don't forget that bomb you drop when convenient.

I get that people get all weird about gay, lesbian or transgender or anything out of the norm. They liberals hate the conservatives and vice versa. We have the anti abortion/ pro choice crowd. But to say "I wouldn't want you around"...what the hell. And thank goodness you wouldn't be deliberately rude to me, but wouldn't want me around? To me, it's just not how another human being treats another human being.

Maybe the trans community is the new group to dislike or put down or want to hide away. We've pretty much done that to every other group, nationality, culture and gender . Unless we have a few Martians land, we have no one else to dump on or put down or show distain for. We've reached the point of been there/done that.

I still believe that how you treat or regard the "not so normal" is very telling.

I think not wanting you around, is more like...you wouldn't be in my inter circle....we don't hang out, I'd never be at a party you attended...if you were a client or co-worker, you would be treated professionally...but I'd still consider your Transgender lifestyle...bizarre, and want no part of it outside of that environment !!!

You'd also have the right to do the same !!!!

What Onyx said. (Maybe not the "bizarre" part. More like "sad.")

I also don't want to be around adulterers and burglars. All chosen behavior.

Again, I can be cordial if I have to come in contact with them.

So, no, it has nothing to do with getting "weird."

OK. I am passive aggressive. That is your opinion.

"Dump on" and "put down" are ACTIVE pursuits.

I have referenced more than one professional/scientist/psychologist. who has the same opinion as I and that information is available if you have the time and inclination to peruse the board. Or you can choose too not read it. (e.g. Johns Hopkins won't do the surgery ( unless they have been sued by the ACLU and I don't know about it yet)).

Whatever. Call your cat a dog. Feed it dog food. Build it a dog house. Have a ceremony and "marry" it to another dog, Just don't expect me to or demand that I call your cat a dog.

How do you equate the racism of the phony theory of 'negro brain' based on the need to keep a certain group of people in an inferior place in society, with research on the fact that transgender people perceive themselves to be of the other gender? And where does one being gay/lesbian turn into transgender people just messing around to get straight people to have sex with them?

deetristate- What proof do you have that it is "chosen behavior"?
Given the stigma they face, why would they say they felt the way the do unless they did?
I am straight and female and I have always known that.
So have you, right Dee?
Could anyone convince you that you aren't female and straight?
These are people who have always felt that they are a different sex, that they were born in the wrong body.
Can you offer me anything, other than opinion, can you offer me PROOF that they are wrong?
No one is saying that you have to understand it, or even accept it, but I STILL don't see why what someone else does with THEIR body and THEIR life is so reprehensible to you.
If you can explain that without using onyx as a crutch and just saying, "Oh, I agree with him," then maybe we might have something to discuss.
I still fail to see why what others choose to do with THEIR body's and THEIR lives has to do with you.
I don't understand why this upsets you so much.
Why can't you just live and let live?
They aren't hurting anyone, they are just trying to live their lives and be happy.
Isn't that what we are ALL doing?!

@pianopetal-
I also take offense to your comparison of this issue to the negro brain...sure you can graze over it and make it seem harmless...but I still question why you felt it necessary to use that to make a point in the first place, being that the whole idea of that was based on slave owners...backed by a government that made it illegal to teach slaves to read, write or count numbers...it was a foolish thing to say, and I suggest you leave it at that !!!

Over the pass few weeks, North Carolina and Mississippi, has laid out laws that impact the LGBT community greatly.

Now...I have absolutely no problem with Transgender males, not being able to use the women's bathrooms...and yes I feel that most restaurants and public venues should provide restrooms that either gender can use...that solves it.

Bruce Springsteen, cancels his show...in protest of the NC, bathroom ban...so what ?
The NFL, and NBA...are looking into cancelling planned events...fine !!!

All over the bathroom issue in NC...whatever !!!!

However, these 2 states allow people to be fired or not hired because of their sexual orientation, refused service, refused housing...and generally an overall attitude of discrimination.
The LGTB, community does have to accept the fact that their lifestyle is not mainstream and not all approve. However...lots of people could care less and are un-phased by their lifestyle.
Instead of staying with their stronghold...they wanted to fight with the Southern Christians and old Conservatives...and got beat up.

Bruce Springsteen, cancels show in NC...in protest of restroom issue...whatever....

I love this "proof" shit. We all know we can find whatever we want to back up our opinion from information found on the Internet. And some of this information is twattle, much is biased both ways and some is medical jargon that I wouldn't fully understand and no one one here has jumped up to say they have a medical degree or are a psychologist or a psychiatrist. We are just ordinary folks, some are just open minded and some aren't.

IF you believe people that say they knew they were gay at 5 years old....why would you not believe a child when they say they do t feel right in their body and should be the other gender. I've watched a few documentaries on this...children saying "I look like a girl on my body but inside I'm a boy" and vice versa.

And, I hate to say this, I have to agree with Onyx regarding the comments about "negro brain". WTF. "....it was a foolish thing to say.." Well, no kidding.

The same reason my opinion is so important to you. Oh, it's not? Well, that.

By the way, I said "sad," not reprehensible.

Proof? Whatever I reference you will say is not valid so Google "johns Hopkins and Bruce Jenner" as a start and have at it.

I don't believe that people are born gay either. Effeminate? Yes. But I know effeminate straight men so they are not the same.

We are each entitled to our opinions and the facts that back them up.

People choose to engage in menage a trois and S and M and trans and gay. And adultery. All sexual choices. No, I would not so choose.

None of these choices deserves any special recognition, rights or a cookie.

Anyway. . .

Who would choose to be anything other than the "norm". This isn't painting your face, putting on black nail polish and calling yourself Goth. It's not a fad like the Pet Rock.

So some men are just effeminate and some women are just masculine. How lovely and simple that is...for the small minded.

And I did Google John Hopkins and Bruce Jenner and I get comments from a FORMER chief of psychiatry along with an article on "Meet the Doctor Special Conservatives Depend on to Justify Anti-Gender Hate". It's amazing what you can find on google...you take this guy as the gospel on your views while others poo poo him.

Nice Dee. See, I always said you were a closed minded homophobic.

Yes they do...Gay and Transgender men are homosexual...homosexual, comes from the word homogenize, which is to remove, or reduce the purity...in this case would be masculinity.

So where does that put transgender people who were born with male body parts, but live as women and date women? Are they lesbians or straight in the Dictionary of Cigars?

deetristate- "The same reason my opinion is so important to you."
The arrogance in that kind of thinking could choke a horse, but thanks for the laugh. :D
No sweetie, I hate to break it to you, but not everything is about YOU.
That you think it is is exactly why you have NO tolerance for how anyone thinks or feels but yourself.
You are right about one thing though, I can't change a closed mind so I might as well stop trying.

Because someone has a different opinion, that person is not stopping you from having one. See?

A person doesn't have to agree with your opinion. See?

But that doesn't mean that you can't have one that is not the same. See?

And you don't always have to change someone's mind to feel free to have your own opinion. See?
--------------------------------------------------
And, Dayna, exactly. They are not the same. See. We agree.

You people should stop trying to make up something and act as if someone else is saying it so that you can disagree with it and attack it. Really.

There is a enough reality here to have a decent discussion.

LOL. There was and is no anger.

You are divorced from reality.

Which illustrates why you think Bruce is now a woman.

Carry on.

Continue this conversation with yourself.

Yes gay and transgendered men are homosexual and typically are interested in MEN for gawds sake.

Dayna are you parroting from that stoopid clinic you worked for again?

@-Dayna

All gay men are effeminate and all transgender men are effeminate...not all gay men are transgender....but all transgender males are gay.
