Smiles are overrated in my humble opinion. Unless someone is scowling I don't need to see someone's teeth to be attracted to them.
Your photos are fine Sealady, I just think the one you chose is the least appealing. Of course this is just my opinion, you can ignore it if you wish :)

Thanks Pete

Of the current photos which would you choose as the main?
Please describe the picture rather than the number.
Obviously I miscounted. ;)

Brrr it's cold or are glasses sexy.

No one else has piped up and said they don't like your current picture as much as the others, so take my advice as the opinion it is and nothing more. :)

I think your profile is fine ASL, and if it's any "consolation", as far as WHICH pic to use... ?

I have shot pics for perhaps a half dozen or more ladies that I have met here as well as hundreds more at Fish events. I have sat and edited/selected pics with many of these ladies. Picking the best "dozen" or so has never been a problem. Almost w/o exception though, none of them ever pick the same top 2 or 3 that I do...

Because/in spite of this, I think anyone's BEST chance of being contacted is to rotate one's pics on a regular basis. There is no accounting for "taste" when it comes to pics. I also think that at least "some" of the advice concerning pics I sometimes see in the Forums is "bad" advice.

I might as well throw in that I have SEEN the mailboxes of most of these women I took pics for. What we so often see as far as the claims of mail for women here in the Forums?

Certainly POSSIBLE for ladies that live in a huge metro area, at least partially because of the # of NEW members [men] who join every week.

E X T R E M E L Y unlikely for the rest.

How is this as a primary photo?

Too corporate looking?

The lighting makes it look a bit hmm, smeary
I like the blue cap one bestest
Besides I don't care for the caption, corporate isn't a word that gets many people's dating juices flowing :/

LOL, I'm with Ouija on this, I like the informal blue knit hat. But your new "corporate" pic has it's own appeal, also. As others have suggested, rotate your main pic.

I know this is an "older" response, but I couldn't disagree more. I DO need to see someone's teeth (or lack thereof) to be attracted to them.

Nothing messes up a pretty face worse than jacked up teeth.

Really!! You think smiles are over rated and the teeth dont matter?? That explains why so many men dont smile in their pics. They must have the same attitude as you. For me bad teeth are a total dealbreaker. Shows the man does not care for his hygiene, has no money to fix his teeth or is deadly afraid of the dentist....pass...'

sealady,
the shot in the blue cap, the costume shot which is fun and the one with you at night in a black top, like a studio shot, I would keep. The others I would delete but that is my opinion. Perhaps keep the one with the sweet dogs in the park.

Lets see how this works.

The sweet dogs, especially the new overgrown black puppy, are proving to be excellent gardeners.

Hi all.
I am back following a break from dating for a while and would welcome a critique of this version of my profile.

Many thanks.

sealady111...the narrative remains solid and the pics are mostly good.
If you obtain a better image on the boat (rather than the distant view of your ponytail...) that is the one to replace first.
Hope your profile has been getting some attention from interested gentlemen!

Thank you Eric.

I had someone take a picture of me on the boat on Sunday with the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background but they have not sent it to me. Just goes to prove you can never trust a sailor.

Hardly any attention. Other than a few responses from ones I have contacted.

All well.

Maybe it is true.
All the good ones are taken.

Hello Di,

First off, you are not a BBW so bump down to few extra at the very least.
We have a true BBW man here currently trying to pass himself off as athletic...

All in all I like your pics although 2 are blurry.
They show your joy for life.
Good lighting is more important than good camera IMO.

You're a very tall woman (at least to me :) ) and I wonder if that may have something to do with lack of responses?

I really like the write up.
Man you see could use work as it's cliche.
Be more specific...must love sailing?
What would you do together?
He wants to find common ground and see what it's like to date you.

Suggest a first date out of the ordinary.

. . . would welcome a critique of this version of my profile.

There is one particular sentence you wrote,
that keeps bouncing around in my brain.

It is an abrupt sentence, and it confuses me.

I have pondered on it some,
but I still am unsure exactly
what it means to you?

During winter I can be found curled up in front of the fire. In summer I am a sunshine and water tragic.

I love the "curled up in front of a fire."
It puts out good vibrations.

"I am a sunshine and water tragic."
Tragic?

Google search:
adjective: tragic
1. causing or characterized by extreme distress or sorrow.

I am a big wuss when it comes to potentially drowning.
But, I don't write about that in my profile.

Is there another way (or word)
to put that information? That is
if it's important for you to broadcast
that in your dating profile.

The boating picture, even your username SeaLady
suggest to me that saltwater, can't be too tragic for you.
Fresh water, is healthy to drink, wash up and bathe. Yes?

Maybe It's a "down under" thing?
Tonight, I'm going to throw another shrimp on the Barbie.

I only see one change to make.
It would be a tragedy to keep "that" word in your profile.
Good luck!

Di, I agree with Tater .. you're not BBW. Go with "few extra".

I think you've picked a terrific photo as your main. The smile is warm and lovely. The "winter 2015" picture is also a winner, but would be much more so if it was sharper and better lit. With a picture like that, you could also crop from it a head/shoulder shot to rotate in and out as your main.

There's some merit to what Tater says about being 5'8". That's my height, as well, and when I see a profile in which the woman is taller than me, it's discouraging to the point that I think "crap, she won't answer", which is really too bad for me since I actually prefer a taller woman. Sometimes I go ahead and email, anyhow, more often I don't. The men who've been around the OLD block more than a few turns have already learned that taller women rarely express a return interest in shorter men. If you're open to men your height or shorter, maybe there's a way to elegantly address the issue.

Your write-up is very good and needs no tinkering.

Thank you.
I have had a few private messages with some good suggestions so I have made some more changes.
Will try and get a clear photo of me with boats in the background with no sunnies where I look a little more glam than I did yesterday after 3 days on board. My only shower was under a waterfall. Lots of swimming.

No make up, no hairdryer.
Hardly sufficiently glam for a main picture.

But you could not remove the smile of contentment off my face.

I love that reality.

In my opinion, yes... your pictures do need to be addressed. The formatting of your written description also needs to be addressed to become more formalized and structured into proper paragraphs. Body type listed as "a few extra pounds" would be appropriate.

Hi all I have made a few tweaks.
How does this look?

And Seki.... you being a cat person means I will ignore your dislike of my dogs. ;)

Amazing the difference light makes in showing off the lumpy bits.
Harbour photo taken on Sunday. Blue top new main taken today Tuesday.

Both new pics look great; colors are crisp and vibrant.
Can you crop or zoom in on face for main pic?
People get better results when viewer sees face better in thumbnail.

I liked the one with the pink cap, this in the sunlight doesn't do you favor Di
I'd not even say few pounds over, you look average ( no insult that is the only option) to me :/
