StarClassic- You are perceptive. That is exactly what I'm having to think about.
People who know me best tell me that I'm made for nursing.
It was my dream, finally fulfilled at age 28. I went through nursing school while balancing work and raising two children (my 3rd child had not yet been born).
I have had some geriatric patients, but my specialty (private duty) has meant mostly working with children.
It has given me the opportunity to keep my skills sharp, when they need a nurse to train other nurses on vents and trachs, they will send me even over RN's.
I love working with children, but it does take a toll, these kids are not going to get better, all I can do is give them the best possible care, but when one dies, it's really hard.
Nursing is physically demanding and since being diagnosed with arthritis 5 years ago, I can't do what I used to be able to do.
As Castlehills me pointed out, stepping up to an RN comes with more choices, it's more administrative (paperwork, UG) than being an LPN is, but it also opens a lot of doors. (thank you for your input, castle)
Ohenryx took a guess that I'm considering 4 years to become a PA.
That's a good guess, but no, if I leave nursing, I will do so to become a specialist caring for children that CAN get better, rehab, or maybe counseling. (I'm also considering Nutrition or specializing in OHSA training, the person that makes sure people don't get hurt at work)
I don't know, it's a hard choice.
Thank you to the 3 of you, your input HAS helped, starclassic, I will make that list, that's a really good idea, that way I can see the pluses and minuses right in front of me.
I have to work for 6 more months before I can go back.
One of the biggest factors is going to be if I really want to stay in nursing or if I don't, that and the fact that I do have classes that I've already taken that I took the last time I thought about going back.
Anatomy 2 was one of those classes, that was a tough one and it seems like a shame to waste it.
I also have psychology, English and one of my math's done.
Yup, time to make that list.
Again, thank you. :)

kj521- I'm still wondering how the heck YOU got deleted and had to come back, now Eric?!
This is getting ridiculous! :(

trinity818- It sounds like the son needs to close buisness 2 and focus on buisness 1, that and get rid of whoever isn't doing their job.
Whatever you decide to do next, I hope it works out for you. :)

It is ridiculous Ms. Bamagrl.

As evidenced by Eric 's is not about the deleted person's character.

It is about power and control.....always has been.

I have spoken to Eric and he will not be back. The forums have truly lost a wonderful participant. :(

Today’s rant (again in no particular order):

Sheeple and Automatrons

My office moved to a new building in May. We now have new fangled elevators - the type that no longer have ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons in the lobby to call a car. We have a board with each floor displayed and when we select the desired floor, it tells us which car to take. Now I must admit that I was a sheeple ONCE. I waited for 3 cars before my assigned car came. Have not done so since, but some of my co-workers still insist on waiting for their assigned car. SHEEPLE!!!

The AUTOMATRONS are, IMHO, retail staff who can’t think outside-the-box. They have been programmed to stick to a script and can’t/won't deviate from it. I’m a few months away from retirement and need to look into getting a new phone ( have a employer issued phone at the moment). When I approach a staff member in a phone service establishment, my first question is ‘Do you provide cell service to the North?’ They claim to provide service all across Canada, but when I ask if that covers Nunavut, I get a look that tells me they believe I’m asking if their network covers Mars. And they don’t even attempt to enquire with a co-worker or take my name and number and provide me with the info at a latter date. AUTOMATRONS!!!

On another note - ohenryx - in your message 57 of this thread, you said:

1) What’s wrong with horny old coots anyway? (speaking as one myself)

I hate to burst your bubble cpcake, but if you are a ‘horny old coot’ your profile is very misleading. Now I know this is not ‘profile review’ but let me give you some advice. First off, you need to have the number 69 in your user name. Also, your interests are all wrong - change them to: cuddling, kissing, massages, holding hands, spooning, forking, etc. Then you will be more believable. As it stands now, I still think you are point number 4 of my original post. Sorry, :)

Wow! 30 pages of rants in two months. What does that say about us? Methinks that the therapists are going broke due to this site. lol

kj521- I can't believe it, I admit it, I had to check, yep, he's gone.
If you talk to him again, PLEASE tell him that we will miss him, I know I will, the two of you are two of my go to people to talk to about music, it's a damn shame. :(

Maybe this thing is set up so certain words trigger spontaneous combustion. That nice man had used the word "moderator". Specifically, he had said something about them being ineffective. I shall do the same. If I don't get deleted, I am clearly invincible. If I do, the mystery will be solved. Don't say I didn't ever do anything for you people:

Moderators suck! Plenty of Fish sucks - it's a scam! Moderators, your mothers are fat! You have no lives! You are stupid poo heads who can't get real jobs! **** the **** of Plenty of Fish forum Moderators!

Call me The Grammarian.

But actually my super power is finding parking. I know it's a lame power, but others have been skeptical before. I always get parking very close to where I want to go.

I'm not even sure what to call you with your super power. I'm afraid POF would censor all of my suggestions.

In my limited experience with the history channel, those "Search for" shows seemed to have a lot of conjecture, but very little finding of anything. HOWEVER, i'm impressed with their "Hunting Hilter"|dc_pcrid_9952724960_pkw_hunting%20hitler_pmt_e&keyword=hunting%20hitler&pcrid=&mt=

they seem to really be finding the potential path he could have taken. They can't prove things without a doubt, but they can show so far that there hasn't been anything to disprove it. The proof they have found, seems pretty solid. And they are uncovering perhaps some new history as they go along.

From time to time, when people say something funny and everyone laughs, some people will KEEP saying until it's WAY past being funny anymore.
Something about me that doesn't show here as often as I SHOULD show it, is I'm a bit of a cut up.
I can be pretty funny.
Me and my kids love to joke around and from time to time one of us is guilty of over using something that WAS funny.
When that happens, we declare it dead and impose "fines" for digging it up.
People who observe our little game look at us like we are nuts, but we crack ourselves up and have a good time. :) "

Yeah, it's a lot easier to be honest with family than someone like your boss ....unfortunately.

I smelled a cigarette on the patio this morning. Peeked through the blinds and saw Rod Serling puffing away.

He disappeared when he caught me looking. Go figure.

Bigfoot? Unless it's immortal, there's gotta be more then one if they're procreating. I assume it eats too, so it must be defecating as well.

No bones or...defecation have ever been found.

I call foo foo on Bigfoot.

Now...of any conspiracy that might have some merit, I'd say the moon landing.

The physics of putting men on the moon and bringing them back alive is...astounding and hard to believe the U.S. made it happen in 1969. I'm sure the Soviets were impressed as well..

Of course, I'd never tell that to Buzz Aldrin's face. I just might get punched.

It was announced last night that Survivor has one episode left and will conclude next Wednesday.

And Bigfoot, faked Moon Landings and WE [the US] actually blew up the WTC in NY and not the bad guys actually flying the jets??? I find it both frightening and telling at the same time that so many Americans apparently find any "merit" whatsoever in such topics.

Maybe schools stopped teaching basic Science many years ago?

Mexico may have passed the US last year as the fattest country on the planet, but I'll bet the US still has a lock on most gullible people in the world.

I find more merit in critical thinking then basic science, and I work with advanced science all the time.

Believing 100% in the pablum crap from the TV just because it comes from the TV, or from the textbooks for that matter, is lazy.

Ugh, I'll never understand how or why anyone would choose to believe in the paranormal. There is absolutely no solid evidence available, outside of the so labeled "subject matter experts," radically absurd theory, and blurred photo that is either fabricated or equipment defect.

What we do know is that people are subject to psychosis, whether genetic, sleep deprived, or drug induced - we see things that aren't there, especially if we are looking for literally any form evidence no matter how abstract or far fetched in relation. And when you choose to believe the delusions of defect in the mind, you become naive.

Similarly, people who believe that drug companies or researchers refuse to cure cancer because its too profitable to treat. I assure you that the patent on a cancer cure would be invaluable. And rich and powerful people like Steve Jobs wouldn't have died.

Critical thinking and logic are invaluable. Otherwise you dull your mind to the true reality, which is a lot more important than nonsense.
