I see some on this thread are having fun going back and forth bantering. If this thread was started to have a laugh, then I agree.
The Unites States is a great place and Canada is a great place. For some though, I get the impression of something other then friendly banter. I see pettiness and a hate. Says a lot about someone.

hahaha...Black Americans don't call themselves African Americans...
You are correct. It's non-Americans that say it when they see an American. They say "Damn. A freakin American."
Posted: 2/14/2016 1:32:50 PM
And as for this Exercise, you failed...Canada will remain the step child of America...dependent and needy...
Typical ugly American attitude, bashing other countries. Yet it seems like some Americans wished they were Canadians. A lot of Americans touring across Europe had the habit of sewing Canadian flags on their backpacks. They knew they'd get more respect from the local population if people believed them to be Canadian.

"America" stretches from Tierra del Fuego to the North Pole..so...people in Canada are actually Americans too , as are Panamanians and the people in 20 + other countries..confusing hm? We need a new word to denote citizens of the USA.. Perhaps, USians? Estadounidenses? Or maybe we can use gringo?
Also the name of the country to the south of USA is Los Estados Unidos de Mexico.. the United States of Mexico..hmm..
Posted: 2/14/2016 1:40:06 PM
Great point Stell and it's one all Canadians travelling abroad know. To wear a Canadian symbol means never being mistaken for the "Ugly American". It's also why in here we self identify so as not to be confused with the "Ugly Americans" in here.
However, after that great Canadian Ambassador and the hero of the Iran hostage situation Ken Taylor pulled of the "Canadian Caper" and saved those US embassy diplomats, things did change slightly.

Let's cut the crap shall we ?
None of us can take credit for anything either country invented, accomplished etc
All countries have decent people and douchebags . The question is ....which category are you in ? Do you even know ?

"America" stretches from Tierra del Fuego to the North Pole..so...
Ummm... so... No...
"America" does NOT stretch "from Tierra del Fuego to the North Pole"... The correct expression would be... "The Americas"...
Unfortunately... the Founding Fathers of the US... kind of got it wrong... when they coined "The United States of America"... What they should have said was... "The United States of The Americas"... or the "United States of North America", really... but some didn't really believe... that ANY part of the western hemisphere... should NOT be their exclusive "playground"...
Posted: 2/14/2016 1:57:10 PM
Yes, that continued up to until at least the 1990s or beyond as the CIA made the entire Americas their playground..targeted assassinations in South America, interventions in central America, Nicaragua..Iran-Contra..training and financing death squads such as the Contras and El Salvadoran government murder teams, Guatemalan ones also..training the best torture and murder techniques at the School of The Americas in Florida..run by US military and CIA....
Ah yes, also the CIA conducting LSD experiments on mental patients at the Clarke Institute in Montreal in the 1960-1970 time frame without the knowledge or consent of the patients or their guardians..among many other abuses..they weren't too nice to their own citizens either, conducting experiments on the spread of pathogens in the NYC subway system.. Testing chemical weapons on army personnel without explaining the possible negative effects..testing atomic weapons with troops in the open within 20 miles to check if an atomic explosion could cause cancer..

Now come on guys be fair, we also did use our military to test the superiority of "Smarties" versus "M&M's" in that infamous 1953 tests which proved that "Smarties" are 35% more tasty. Sometimes we can be just as evil.
Posted: 2/14/2016 3:00:28 PM
Smarties are a British treat and why would you use a test done over 50 years ago...and Smarties are garbage compared to Starburst...stop cheating, you're worst then your comrade Ted Cruz.
I'm so happy to see so many Canucks dancing aboot...and participating in this exercise...question...what's the thing with V-8 engines.
I seems every Canadian I know has a pickup, or chevy with a big gas guzzling engine, is it the harsh winters...or just because you like blowing Saturns off the road.....

Coffee Crisp has been the most popular chocolate bar in Canada for at least as long as I've been alive. Every time they try to introduce it in the States it flops. Nobody can figure out why.
Of course they were a lot better before Rountree got taken over by Nestle.

I live in Calgary Alberta and am proud to be Canadian.
Calgary has the Flames, Edmonton has the Oilers and the West Edmonton Mall.We have a friendly rivalry going on between teams hahaha.
Regina has the Riders...Go GReen. Rider Pride.
A lot of Canadian towns and cities have monuments for one reason or another. A few that come to mind are Star Trek, The giant Easter egg and Flintabbatey Flonaton.
Both coasts have beautiful scenery, water, fishing and people. The "Newfies" are some of the nicest and funniest people, I have met. They have a dessert , Blueberry grunt, that is to die for.
Beer is always going to be a personal thing, no matter where you live. I preferred Pilsner when I drank ,common beer in Saskatchewan. Here in Calgary, Canadian and Kokanee seem to be popular.
Still looking for athe best burger. I just had a good one at Boogies Burgers in Calgary.
Walts... Good one, I'm sure that went over BO's head...hahaha.
Do some research OP, Canada has a lot to offer,. I feel sorry for Quebec upon your return, because you are a closed, minded shit disturber, eh.

Smarties are a British treat and why would you use a test done over 50 years ago...and Smarties are garbage compared to Starburst...stop cheating, you're worst then your comrade Ted Cruz.
Well now you are wrong again my uninformed American friend because according to studies Smarties are 35% better than their American Rip off Cousin, M&M's.
Secondly, they they are only manufactured in Canada and Germany.
York England production moved to Germany.
Smarties have been produced in Toronto since the 1940's.
"Smarties" not available in most of the US, simply because of the name.
Americans not "Smartie" enough!
You should include a couple emoji's when you post aboot so stupidly.

I never said I didn't like Canada...I've been to both Banff and Calgary, and I enjoyed it very much...I had a burger there and barfed soon as I got to the parking lot...polite right.
When it comes to beer...I'm a bit of a snob, my favorite is Bavarian Wheat...not that Blue Moon, crap...real stuff...being it's rarely found in a bar, I get Shiner Bock, or when in Canada...always Molson Export.
Thank You, Smarties may have moved to Toronto...but it's not an original Canadian product is it ?
Nabisco, is moving their Oreo cookie plant to Mexico...does that make it a product of Mexico ?
Smarties are plentiful here in the States...I had them as a child and still see them at the 99 cent store, I doubt anybody think they are better then M&M's...being that they have chocolate, and Smarties are just Kool-Aid in a hard candy form...but if anyone would be impressed with them...it's Canadians....
Most people here in the States, got rid of emoji's years ago...the confused and
unfortunate either didn't get the memo or still think it's cool...again mostly Canadians.

I really hate to break this to you - I like wheat beer too, so it's not personal. If you drink wheat beer, you're not a beer snob, you're a beer p*ssy. I know beer snobs. They look at guys like you and me like Harley riders look at Goldwing riders.
Posted: 2/14/2016 4:13:10 PM
I never said they were invented here in Canada. Just that they were produced here and tested on our soldiers in the 1953 Top Secret (wonder if Hillary new) Military Tests.
I also said that they are not widely distributed in the US but limited to specialty retailers. The reason being that there is another brand of candy called "Smarties" in the US. You know those little round sugar pellets. No chocolate in your Smarties. That other candy is marketed as "Rockets" here in Canada. You are obviously confusing the two. (not very "Smartie" are you?)
Head to head plain Smarties are much better then plain M&M's but Peanut M&M's rock! And then they come up with Almond M&M's. Genius, Pure Genius!
As for emojis seems the others in here of your "ilk" didn't get the memo. Must have been with that other cotter memo that said she is not a bigot that she distributed to no-one.
Half, thats why I don't drink wheat beer but I do ride a Harley. And I much on Smarties while riding!

OP, I never said anything about you not liking Canada. Just pointing out a few of our good things and there are many , many more.
I have a friend that lives in Powell River and enjoy the 2 ferries it takes to get there and the beautiful scenery.
I've lived in Flin Flon, built on rock, but also a beautiful place in mind. One of my friends that went there said it was the worst place she has ever been, and what did I see in it? lol
The point is, to be proud of where you are. I do confess, I get a bit ****y when people that have chosen to come to Canada always say, my country, when talking about where they moved from. If you live here now, your country is Canada.
You think maybe the beers you had with the burger you hurled had anything to do with it? Next time you are in Calgary try Boogies, they have deep fried mac and cheese balls and a whole lot of sides for your burger .And have you tried a Canadian, Kokanee or Pilsner? Try them, before you knock em,eh.
My take on motorcycles... I would just be happier than a pig in shit to have my own to ride. I could care less if it was the"almighty" Harley. lol

If the citizen's of the United? States of America elect Bernie Saunders... I will fearlessly wear a "I love The U.S.A....again" T-shirt abroad.
Posted: 2/15/2016 12:31:29 PM
If the citizens of the United States elect Bernie Sanders you won't be able to travel abroad because all the flights will be booked by the hoards of wealthy and businesses fleeing the Democratic Socialist Somewhat United States of the Americas.

If you think we need these corrupt corporations and their CEO's that pay little to people, threaten consistently, pollute and poison, rip off tax payers, treat their employees like shiat, tie up our courts, steal democracy by buying it, never mind that they will kill to protect their interests... you've given up or sold out or are deluded? Afraid to see it?
Let the fckers go, we can run the company's better without them...we do it anyway.
I know loggers who care, fisher people who care, I even know people interested in giving up their shiat jobs in camps that poison and keep them from their family who are willing to learn renewable energy.
I'd send the greedo, ceo's on the next flight to hell (if there was a hell). They burn out everything and everyone, everywhere they go anyway.
(Bonus' small businesses may get a fair shake again).
Well Done TORONTO...

Yesterday's, NBA All Star Game...was the first time it was held outside the Mother Land...and it is with great pleasure and respect that I can say to the people of Toronto, they did a remarkably outstanding job.
People can't stop talking aboot it, how beautiful Toronto is and how much they want to visit...despite believing that they don't need a passport...lol.
But my gosh...everything was so amazing...from Neyo, and Demi...down to the halftime show with Sting...awesome...Be Proud..........

No Dame you don't quite get it... Haven't you ever moved for better confines? They like you desire to run their operations as best they can, just like you try to run your household as best you can. Profits are not bad or illegal. (Just ask Hillary and Bill).
Also against your desire to run their companies better they are just not going to "go" and leave their companies behind.
Recently Burger King just moved to Canada, Medtronic and Johnson Controls moved to Ireland. Pfizer on its way to Ireland and 50 some other US companies have fled the tax greedy USA since 1982. Also don't forget all the factories that have fled the USA for cheaper taxes and costs.
Even though these companies move, perfectly legal, they continue to do business in the US and its perfectly legal. Sorta like living in the suburbs and working in the city!
"Movie On Up..."!

We don't have to buy their crap and if we still choose to, we could arrange and do have FAIR trade agreements. Most of the jobs are lost due to technology and machinery not out sourcing. Do we really want to work for under 20.00 all day with 2 weeks off where we have to ...book ourselves, do un paid over time, buy our own tools, use our own trucks, travel away from our families, eat junk "on the road", pay and pollute while travelling, get lonely, and do this all for some greedo who at the drop of a hat will take our pensions or move away or privatize at lower wages or kill our benefits?
I trust neighbors who have and want to live in the community they work in, volunteer in and protect each other from these type of predators.
The people in Ireland, Mexico, China etc. aren't that far away from screamin' "enough is enough!" either. It's the western folk that are taking it up the azz as well, but do you know what? almost everywhere else they are demanding, striking, taking it to the streets and figuring out better ways.
We can do things better, I suggest we quit backing up the crooks and start doing what we want, during the hours that work for us and our families, at a fair wage and under a safe and healthy umbrella. If it takes socialism to get there, fine. It's not Communism and it's not a bad word no matter what they tell you. They just want the "welfare" they get us to reject...for themselves. It's our fckn money anyway! We can decide how it is spent and on who and what.
I've said it before, they have had their turn and they blew it.
We CAN do better, with or with out them. I prefer without.

One State has made it a law that men that use Viagra, most get a signed waiver from wife of partner before using it.
Who is your favorite President...and it has to be someone that is or was alive since you've been of voter age.....
