Greater numbers of fit people over 50 now IMO.My grandmother exercised daily and could brag about her figure while wearing a bathing suit,a rarity in 1960.

I tried this Indian manoeuvre. Cannot get off the floor no hands despite having squatted 225 for 5 with wraps 3 weeks ago....

I'm not even going to attempt it....I took gymnastics in my day and could do back flips...huh!
Kudos to you people that are in great shape....
This manoeuver (sp?) seems to have a lot more to do with balance as well.

I was told years ago...that a lot of men just don't have the balance as a woman...Idk if it's true.
We use to stand facing a wall and take 3 steps back and with no hands, lean forward and press our head into the wall(as in L shaped) and stand back up.
Surprising how many couldn't do that...

Probably because men are taller on average than women. Having taken martial arts and self-defence classes, I know that the taller somebody is, the easier it is to knock them off balance. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I've got long limbs, so if I was to take 3 steps back, I'd be about 6 or 7 feet back. And if I'm that far away from a wall, I'm certainly not going to lean forward. I would end up planting my face on the floor.

Most women I know/do stuff with are way younger. Doesn't matter if I could do headstands while walking across the Country. Nope, I am older. My Grandmother never worried about how she compared
to others, nor did my Mother.
Good I don't as I'd rock in the middle of the floor.
They text me to go out LOL I've been in bed for hours
If I can work, play with the puppy and not make small children run screaming
All good
Besides I kinda enjoy the surprise of what fresh heck is this when I get up each morning/
Somewhere a picture of me is getting younger. From here out I'm 95 and holding

I knew when I threw out the bait, there would be some 'you're just jealous because I'm in so much better shape than you are, in fact I'm in such great shape that I outfight/outrun/out do all the 20 year olds' responses from the chest thumpers. Just be careful getting off of your soapbox, gents, those 60 year old hips of yours aren't as flexible as they used to be. Besides, you're not competing with me; you're competing with younger guys who are healthier and will live longer than you will, and, most importantly, associate with other younger people. Nobody beats father time. Nobody. Father time is undefeated.

What was that show again....?? Dorian Grey.....

Nobody beats father time. Nobody.

Correct...just have a look at pictures of a few in their latter years like Jack LaLane or even Arnold...
I would mention a woman but don't really know of any....accept maybe Jane Fonda...she looks awesome but a lot of botox and plastic surgery...I'm sure.

Actually platy, not long ago I had a stress-echocardio ultrasound test to ensure all was well, primarily because I do a few times a week such intense interval training that I am on the floor sweating and panting for breath. I also reach and exceed my theoretical max heart rate. I want to assure myself I am not going to kill myself.

As I heard four years ago, I was again told I was more fit than many college athletes and keep up what I was doing. Yeap, I take pride in that..but it's hard work to get there. I get people like you whose max exercise is is lifting a beer, resenting those of us so much better than yourselves. Sorry. :-)

I made a deal with Father time, he leaves me alone for 30 years, I won't fight the fading of the light.

Why not Mother Time? Is this another example of male chauvinism?

"Why not Mother Time?"

There's Mother Nature.
They both have destructive powers.

Father Time is predictable.
Mother Nature can get down right ticked off, at the drop of a hat, for no good reason! LOL!

The Grim Reaper is male, the Angel of Death is female.
Same job description, same salary.
