Tattoos or No Tattoos?Page 8 of 9    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
I always tell people to get it printed on a t shirt and wear it as often as posable. after a month of 'expressing yourself', you will not like it so much. on my dates, one or two may or may not bother me, covered in tats would definitely be a turn off.

John, good advice on the t shirt. Regarding the one or two versus being covered in them, in my area I find that people with one or two are, at least in my perception, covered in them because of the size of the tattoos. The trend here seems to be toward full upper or lower arm tatoo or full upper back tatoo, etc.

was at a 4 day event on labor day. my friends invited their 20 something daughter. a few visible tats but a pretty girl with lots going for her. she came out one day wearing very little and was covered in tats. up and down both legs, stomach, back, everywhere. then theirs the subject matter. her dogs, cartoons, dumb sayings etc.

To my way of thinking, those are such huge decisions to make in a person's twenties. Hopefully they have the same taste forever.

One of the tats I don't get that I sometimes see around, are the ones that is some sort of proverb or saying, written in Chinese-even though the person is not Chinese. I find the whole tattoo thing pointless-especially if you're going to have it for life. If I want to see art, I'll look at paintings or pictures, or look at art on the internet.

I've seen those chinese tats before, on people who are not. Makes me wonder if those really know what that says.

I would laugh like mad, if those words actually said "I'm an A***ole"

And if s/he was an a-hole, they could claim rightfully---'Well I warned you...'

I wanna get a tattoo on my backside that says, "If you can read this you are too close!"

Mine would say EXIT ONLY or it may have one of these on each cheek...

I don't care, makes no difference as long as it doesn't cover your face.

I'll never intentionally get a tattoo and I prefer women with less ink.

Tattoos are not for me.
I won’t ever have one, and I prefer men without.

No tattoos or piercings for me. It's ok if a woman has a discrete small tattoo that is hidden.

As a guy with a shaved head, I see other bald guys with tattoos on their head. Just don't understand that. Desperate for attention? Who knows.

Body Art is fine. A metamorphosis to jungle animals through body modification isn't for me.

Personally, I don't want to be inked, though I have considered a small one for the back of my shoulder. I grew out of that idea like I did with the piercings I had in interesting places that didn't work out.

That said, I have no qualms with tattoos on a guy so long as he doesn't resemble the Leopard man and with many other body mods that don't appeal to me. I respect your creativity, but I ain't gonna date you (not that they would want to date somebody as plain as I am).

I have admired some beautiful / artistic / unique tattoos, ...life long ……….on other people. But that has never lead me to join the crowd.
I prefer to spend my money on experiences / journeys, forever in my memories.

I have a tattoo, a big prairie lily on my left shoulder blade. I like a couple tats on a guy but not a ton. No sleeves and definitely none on the head.

I don't have any tattoos, but my wife does. Her choice. but for me, naw--not into them. I have my left ear pierced. That's about as radical as I will ever be. To each their own.

Once upon a time you didn't see many people with tats. I think that's what made them interesting, but with the acceptance and proliferation it seems most people have them. Sadly with more people covering so much of their body with tats they have lost their appeal for me.

I feel the same way about almost anything now that is considered a trend. Over saturation takes away what may be edgy.

When I got my first (of my five) tattoo about twenty years ago, it certainly wasn't because it was a "fad"; I was thirty for crying out loud! All my tattoos are meaningful to me and are mostly discrete.

With that being said, I don't mind tattoos of any size on men or women, really, to each their own; I'm not going to judge anybody. But, like some have mentioned, facial tattoos or tattoos on the top of women's breasts are just not for me.

And man, if I wasn't done, I would want to try to incorporate a watercolour tattoo in to a design. Have you seen them? They are gorgeous!

I don't mind tattoos on a man unless they're haphazardly placed (such as on his face or knuckles). I have no tattoos or piercings, not even my ears, which is a lot rarer than the millions and billions of folks with body modifications. I've always been a contrarian and not interested in following trends or fads.

I'm not a big fan of tattoos, especially the full sleeves and such. Kinda ick.

There's a book I read years ago---The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. In a nut shell, a former member of a carnival freak show (do they still have freak shows?)'The Illustrated Man' is covered all over his body by tattoos supposedly created by a time travelling woman. Each tattoo is individually animated and each tells a different tale~ Loved the book when I was in my 20s----fascinated by all those tattoos and the stories they told---But that's as close as a tattoo will ever get to me~

I'm pretty surprised by the number of people here saying they don't have any tattoos. I'd be hard pressed to find many here who don't have at least one.

You come across to me as a bit of an old soul, but I could be wrong. I'm intrigued again that you're quite different than your cookie cutter peers.

I find heavy tattooing quite offputting. Reminds me of rough bikers but of course that is a generalisation.
However a discreet little picture here or there is fine.
