Not quite. Each reality actually believes the facts they choose to internalize.

Actual facts exist or don't independent of what people believe or internalize. What the cult believes and internalizes is more accurately called delusion, not facts.

TDS in a UK stylee

So I'm having a wee mooch about today's media and I read an article written in Spike online.

It's about something called Turning Point. They a sherman thing but are helping UK students set up Turning Point UK.

Anyway in the article it mentions a lassie called Candace Owens...........

‘People like Candace Owens are bringing an interesting perspective…

she doesn’t subscribe to the plantation mentality of most African Americans who always vote for the Democrats.

’ Owens’ argument is that the Democrats have weaponised racism to turn African Americans into single-issue voters.

She is spearheading a movement called ‘Blexit’, calling for a ‘black exit’ from the Democratic Party."

https://www.spiked-online.com/2019/03/15/turning-point-owning-the-libs-wont-save-free-speech/

This is a video from the same article where Owens and a geezer who are both black, take the complete piss out of 'anti racism' protesters.

She makes the point of asking the middle class white dafties why they are protesting about a black lassie addressing a meeting.

It's brilliant watching said white arseholes floundering and flopping about.

Eventually said white arseholes agree that they are protesting president the donald.

She asks them why they are protesting president the Donald when the meeting is nothing to do with trump.

It's worth a watch just to see the TDS practiced in the UK by entitled radges........

Are these her words or yours? If hers that's enough to convince me she is not worth the time of day...so don't care to watch. Sorry.

Well reading or watching links is not compulsory so no harm done there.

The words are Candace Owens. Personally i do not agree with her political outlook but she has the absolute right to have them and to voice them.

The point i was making was the irony of 'anti racism' protesters demonstrating a black lassie and a black laddie talking at a meeting.

Are black folks not allowed to form their own views? Can they not arrive at a political outlook that differs from what middle class white folk think they should have?

Owens and the lad with her rip the dafties up for arse paper. She points out that EVERY protestor there is white.

She asks them why a load of entitled white dafties are protesting about a black lassie.

Surely ANOTHER mob of white dafties should demonstrate about THAT group of white dafties for being anti racist racists dontcha think?

What I think is she is entitled to protest anything she wants as is anybody else.

What rational person says they are not?

She is apparently creating issues that do not exist.

"Comrade Trump lies about things big and small. We know that. He lies in the morning, he lies in the afternoon, he lies in the evening and at night. He even gets up in the middle of the night to tweet, and that tweet almost always turns out to be a lie. A lie is produced each time his lips move. He is a pathetic, immoral, serial, non-stop, 24/7, pathological liar."

In the famous words of Ann Coulter : "Our president is an idiot. The goal of a national emergency is for Trump to scam the stupidest people in his base for 2 more years."

Coulter also said that she was going to change the title on the paperback version of her book to “In Trump We Trusted.”

I think I’m missing it, but the “Trump Russia Collusion Conspiracy Theory” doesn’t appear to be listed in that Chicago Tribune article. That’s going to Rank #1 in U.S. history and it’s extremely difficult to entertain the thought that it could ever be surpassed.

Trump is the best president ever......at breaking the law.

Elect a Clown, Expect a Circus!!!

“What if Barack Obama had been more like Donald Trump?”

In a stunning defiance of a long-standing tradition, Democratic presidential frontrunner Barack Obama refuses to make public his federal tax returns.

“America, what is this man hiding???” bellows future ex-Fox commentator Bill O’Reilly on his nightly show. “Obviously Obama’s been paying little or no income tax, and is embarrassed — AS HE SHOULD BE! — to let the hard-working people of this country know the shameful truth!”

Only days before the election, a bombshell “Access Hollywood” tape reveals Obama bragging he “can do anything” to women, including “grab ‘em by the p---y.”

Outraged evangelical leaders condemn Obama for his crude remarks and plead for him to drop out of the race. Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana says his wife won’t let him listen to the tape, though an edited transcript confirms his views that Obama is a “depraved sex criminal unleashed by Satan himself.”

Shrugging off the findings of several U.S. intelligence agencies, newly inaugurated President Obama says there’s no reason not to believe Vladimir Putin’s claim that Russia didn’t meddle in the election.

Republicans lambast Obama as hopelessly naïve and dangerously unfit for office. Right-wing darling Ann Coulter accuses the president of having a “kinky man-crush” on dictators, while radio host Rush Limbaugh becomes so agitated that he accidentally inhales his microphone.

Obama fires the head of the FBI, and then idiotically admits to NBC’s Lester Holt that he did it to curb the investigation of possible pre-election collusion between his campaign and the Russian government.

Pulled from his cryogenic sleeping chamber and revived by aides, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urges the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Obama’s actions, which he calls a “flagrant, unconstitutional, unb-b-b-believable obstruction of justice.”

The Wall Street Journal reveals that Obama’s personal attorney and “fixer” paid $130,000 in hush money to an adult-film actress with whom Obama once had an affair.

Evangelical leaders assemble at an Emergency White Morality Conference and demand that the president resign immediately. A seething Sean Hannity tells Fox viewers that Obama is “worse than Bill Clinton, because Clinton never did it with porn stars. He drew the line at interns!”

It’s revealed that Obama’s daughters and campaign manager met secretly with a Russia-connected lawyer before the election to get “dirt” on Obama’s opponent. The president claims he didn’t know about the meeting, and accuses the FBI of staging a “witch hunt.”

An enraged Ann Coulter calls Obama a “high-paid commie traitor,” and chews off her own left arm during a taping of Bill Maher’s show. After a 12-minute floor debate over how to spell the president’s middle name, the House of Representatives begins preparing articles of impeachment.

President Obama idiotically tells a televised political rally that he and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un “fell in love” during their first summit meeting. Later he says that, despite U.S. intelligence reports, he believes the dictator really didn’t know about the fatal torture of an American college student.

Sean Hannity’s neck gets so hot that the lacquer in his hair catches fire. Rush Limbaugh abruptly goes on a “personal leave” so he can learn how to defibrillate himself. Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell says the special counsel “should slow down and pursue every lead, no matter how small.”

Obama’s ex-national security adviser pleads guilty to lying to the FBI about interacting with Russian officials, his former personal attorney pleads guilty to bank fraud, tax fraud and lying to Congress and his ex-campaign manager gets 90 months in prison for witness tampering, illegal foreign lobbying and a $6 million tax dodge.

Republicans denounce Obama as the swampiest, most crooked president in history. Rep. Steve King, of Iowa, introduces a resolution to “reconsider the feasibility of lynching, for presidential high crimes and misdemeanors.”

It’s confirmed that President Obama rejected the advice of his staff and ordered top-security access for his daughters, Malia and Sasha, and their steady boyfriends.

In an unprecedented move, Mitch McConnell starts an impeachment trial in the Senate before the House is even finished drawing up the charges. Meanwhile, Fox News star Tucker Carlson phones Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show to say Malia is “totally hot — and way smarter than her old man.”

During the same week that photographs surface of President Obama posing with the female founder of a chain of sketchy massage parlors, he autographs Bibles for tornado victims in Alabama.

Moving vans appear overnight in the White House driveway. Evangelicals nationwide stage “Thank You, God’ rallies, while conservatives hail the smooth transition of power as proof that the U.S. Constitution still works.

“Our long national nightmare is over,” declares newly sworn President Joe Biden, adding, “I wrote that one myself.”

i liked the spiked article, b/c even it seems to deal with one of the annoying hypocrisies of the modern conservative movement. they want to have limited government interference, and an economy that is free to let them excel. ok, that's fine. but in the next sentence they just can't resist going into identity politics so that they can blame everyone else but them for why their life sucks. (heck they practically invented identity politics during Clinton's era with Rush Limbaugh et al on hate AM radio, railing the "feminazis" and such).

jeez, stop pointing fingers and get out there and make something work in your favor! you want individual responsiblity, maybe you should take some for yourself. and that's why i liked the article, it was honest enough to admit these people are the kind of people they are angry about :) unfortunately i don't have twitter so i couldn't see about Candace Owens (who lives an hour and a half to the west of me). but according to her wikipedia definition...she seems to be quite over the place. and perhaps she's as much the problem as the solution? a gadfly in the wind?

"Owens launched SocialAutopsy.com in 2016, a website she said would expose bullies on the Internet by tracking their digital footprint.[2][8][10] The proposed site would have solicited users to take screenshots of offensive posts and send them to the website, where they would be categorized by the user's name.[8] She used crowdfunding on Kickstarter for the website. The proposal was immediately controversial, drawing criticism that she was de-anonymizing (doxing) Internet users and violating their privacy.[2][11] According to The Daily Dot, "People from all sides of the anti-harassment debate were quick to criticize the database, calling it a public-shaming list that would encourage doxing and retaliatory harassment."[12] Both conservatives and progressives involved in the Gamergate controversy condemned the website.[2]

In response, people began posting Owens' private details online.[2] Owens blamed, without evidence, the doxing on progressives involved in the Gamergate controversy.[2][11] After this, she earned the support of conservatives involved in the Gamergate controversy, including right-wing political commentators and Trump supporters Milo Yiannopoulos and Mike Cernovich.[2] After this, Owens became a conservative, saying in 2017, "I became a conservative overnight ... I realized that liberals were actually the racists. Liberals were actually the trolls ... Social Autopsy is why I'm conservative".[2]

Kickstarter suspended funding for Social Autopsy, and the website was never created.[11]

In 2015, Owens founded the website Degree180.[5][2] The website frequently posted anti-conservative and anti-Trump content, including mockery of his penis size.[5][13] In a 2015 column that Owens wrote for the site she criticized conservative Republicans, writing about the "bat-shit-crazy antics of the Republican Tea Party", adding, "The good news is, they will eventually die off (peacefully in their sleep, we hope), and then we can get right on with the OBVIOUS social change that needs to happen, IMMEDIATELY."[2][10][14][15]

Owens has since characterized Trump as the "savior" of Western civilization.[7] She has argued that Trump has neither engaged in rhetoric that is harmful to African Americans nor proposed policies that would harm African Americans.[26][10] She stated in October 2018 that she had never voted and had only recently became a registered Republican.[27]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candace_Owens

worse, that racist asshole in New Zealand saw her as an influence.

https://www.thewrap.com/candace-owens-ripped-for-lol-reaction-after-new-zealand-massacre-suspect-named-her-biggest-influence/

but who knows, there could be more to her. she's young, there's a lot for her to accomplish in life.

quite a guy you trumpsters support. And Million Reasons, its not a coincidence that people like you who love Trump, are the same type of people who support the vile assertions by people like Little Red.

It Isn’t Complicated: Trump Encourages Violence
He doesn’t deserve blame for any specific attack. He does deserve blame for the increase in white-nationalist violence.

March 17, 2019

The president of the United States suggested last week that his political supporters might resort to violence if they didn’t get their way.

The statement didn’t even get that much attention. I’m guessing you heard a lot more about the college-admissions scandal than about the president’s threat of extralegal violence. So let me tell you a little more about the threat.

In an Oval Office interview with writers from the right-wing news site Breitbart, President Trump began complaining about Paul Ryan. As speaker of the House, Ryan blocked efforts by other House Republicans to subpoena and investigate people on the political left. Trump’s loyal allies in the House “wanted to go tougher,” Trump said, “but they weren’t allowed to by leadership.”

To Trump, the incident was part of a larger problem: “You know, the left plays a tougher game. It’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. O.K.? I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump. I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.”

This wasn’t the first time Trump had mused about violence, of course. He has talked about “Second Amendment people” preventing the appointment of liberal judges. He’s encouraged police officers to bang suspects’ heads against car roofs. He has suggested his supporters “knock the hell” out of hecklers. At a rally shortly before 2018 Election Day, he went on a similar riff about Bikers for Trump and the military.

I’m well aware of the various see-no-evil attempts to excuse this behavior: That’s just how he talks. Don’t take him literally. Other Republicans are keeping him in check. His speeches and tweets don’t really matter.

But they do matter. The president’s continued encouragement of violence — and of white nationalism — is part of the reason that white-nationalist violence is increasing. Funny how that works.

After Trump’s latest threat, I reached out to several experts in democracy and authoritarianism to ask what they made of it. Their answers were consistent: No, the United States does not appear at risk of widespread political violence anytime soon. But Trump’s words are still corroding democracy and public safety.

His latest incitement fit a historical pattern, and one with “scary echoes,” as Daniel Ziblatt, who co-wrote the recent book “How Democracies Die,” told me. Trump combined lies about his political opponents — Democrats who need to be investigated (for made-up scandals) — with allusions to a patriotic, violent response by ordinary citizens. Latin American autocrats, including Hugo Chávez in Venezuela, have used this combination. So did European fascists in the 1930s.

The United States, thank goodness, does not have armed citizen militias carrying out regular attacks, as those other countries did. But our situation is still worrisome. “Violent talk can, at minimum, encourage lone-wolf violence,” Steven Levitsky, Ziblatt’s co-author and a Harvard political scientist, said. “It can also slowly normalize political violence, turning discourse and ideas that were once unsayable and even unthinkable into things that are sayable and thinkable.”

These risks are not just hypothetical. In 2017, a House candidate body-slammed a reporter who asked a probing question — behavior with no recent precedent. Trump praised the now-congressman, Greg Gianforte, for the assault. In the Bright Light Watch survey of political scientists late last year, only 49 percent said the United States did not tolerate political violence, a notable decline from earlier levels. Some respondents cited Gianforte.

Statistics on hate crimes are notoriously unreliable, but the evidence strongly suggests that they’re rising. The F.B.I.’s data shows an increase. The Anti-Defamation League reports a 73 percent rise in “extremist-related killings” during the last four years.

Not all attacks come from people who identify with the political right, obviously: The 2017 attempted mass murder of House Republicans on a baseball field is one horrific example. But most politically motivated attacks do indeed come from the right. Last year, 39 of the 50 extremist killings tracked by the A.D.L. were committed by white supremacists, and another eight were committed by killers espousing anti-government views.

Drawing a direct line from the purveyors of hateful rhetoric to any specific hate crime is usually impossible. And it’s usually a mistake to try. The motive for these crimes — be it in New Zealand last week or Pittsburgh last year — is typically a stew of mental illness, personal anger and mixed-up ideology. Trump doesn’t deserve to be blamed for any specific crime. But he does deserve blame for the trend.

It isn’t very complicated: The man with the world’s largest bully pulpit keeps encouraging violence and white nationalism. Lo and behold, white-nationalist violence is on the rise. You have to work pretty hard to persuade yourself that’s just a big coincidence.

This is the way the trade war ends. Not with a bang but with empty bombast.

According to multiple news organizations, the U.S. and China are close to a deal that would effectively end trade hostilities. Under the reported deal, America would remove most of the tariffs it imposed last year. China, for its part, would end its retaliatory tariffs, make some changes to its investment and competition policies and direct state enterprises to buy specified amounts of U.S. agricultural and energy products.

The Trump administration will, of course, trumpet the deal as a triumph. In reality, however, it’s much ado about nothing much.

As described, the deal would do little to address real complaints about Chinese policy, which mainly involve China’s systematic expropriation of intellectual property. Nor would it do much to address Donald Trump’s pet although misguided peeve, the imbalance in U.S.-China trade. Basically, Trump will have backed down.

If this is the story, it will repeat what we saw on the North American Free Trade Agreement, which Trump denounced as the “worst trade deal ever made.” In the end, what Trump negotiated — the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement, or U.S.M.C.A. — was very similar to the previous status quo. Trade experts I know, when not referring to it as the Village People agreement, call it “Nafta 0.8”: fundamentally the same as Nafta, but a bit worse.

Why is the president who famously declared that “trade wars are good, and easy to win” effectively waving the white flag? Mainly because winning turns out not to be easy, at all.

Trump’s beloved stock market hates talk of trade war. There is no broad constituency for protectionism — in fact, public opinion has become much more pro-free trade under Trump. And Chinese retaliation has hit hard at voting blocs Trump depends on, especially in farm states.

Now, agreement with China isn’t a done deal. Trump may also yet open another front in the trade war, against European automobiles. And the Village People agreement awaits congressional approval, and it’s not clear what Trump will do if that isn’t forthcoming.

Still, it looks possible, even likely, that within a few months most though not all of the trade war will have been unwound. So will it all look in retrospect like a passing storm, with few long-term consequences?

The whole world now knows two things about us. First, we’re not reliable — an agreement with the U.S. is really just a suggestion, because you never know when the president will invent some excuse for breaking it. Second, we’re easily rolled: The president may talk tough on trade, but in classic bully fashion, he runs away if confronted.

On U.S. unreliability, consider the way the current administration has treated Canada, probably the friendliest neighbor and firmest ally any nation has ever had. Despite generations of good relations and a free-trade agreement, Trump imposed large tariffs on Canadian aluminum and steel, invoking national security as a justification. This was obviously specious — in fact, Trump himself basically conceded this point, justifying the tariffs instead as retaliation for Canadian dairy policy (which was also specious).

The lesson for the world is that America can’t be trusted. Why bother making deals with a country that’s willing to slap sanctions on the best of allies, and clearly lie about the reasons, whenever it feels like it?

Meanwhile, the sudden retreat in the confrontation with China shows that we talk loud but carry a small stick. It would be one thing if the U.S. had changed course on the merits. But backing down so easily, after all the posturing, tells the world that the way to deal with America is not to bargain in good faith, but simply to threaten the president’s political base, and maybe offer some payoffs, political and otherwise. (I’m still wondering about those floors China’s largest bank rents at Trump Tower.)

And when it comes to payoffs, autocracies have an advantage over nations that observe the rule of law. China appears to be getting most Trump tariffs removed; Canada still faces those steel tariffs.

Finally, by undermining the international system, America is making the world worse for itself as well as for everyone else. In fact, payback is coming right away.

The World Trade Organization just gave America a big win in a dispute over Chinese agricultural subsidies — but its verdict is probably moot, because the Trump administration has spent the past two years denigrating the organization, and has crippled the appellate body that is supposed to enforce W.T.O. rulings, blocking the appointments that would have given this trade court the quorum it needs to act.

Let’s be clear: Not having a trade war is better than the alternative. But the path the Trump administration has taken to its trade deals has made us less trusted, less respected and weaker than we were before. So much winning!

I think I’m missing it, but the “Trump Russia Collusion Conspiracy Theory” doesn’t appear to be listed in that Chicago Tribune article.

It's an Old article, that's why. :)
