For one, no rapid fire guns. They aren't used for hunting. Perhaps only one hand gun per household for protection after stringent background checks (like stringent vetting of refugees/immigrants), with storage for gun enthusiasts who "collect" guns off site at a facility that houses and allows "target practice" only at that type of site. In other shooting instances it's been said that if people had been able to have their gun, they would have been able to put the maniac shooter down - certainly not in a case like Las Vegas.

That depends on the outcome of the investigation.

The police chief mentioned, without a lot of details yet, that the shooter DID have contact with employees during the period from Thursday, when he moved in, and Sunday night, when the shooting occurred, but didn't elaborate on the nature of the interactions.
He also mentioned that the shooter had set up "platforms" at 2 windows in the room.
And he had cameras set up to let him know when someone- security or the police- was coming.

So many questions.

Did he take the guns to the room all at once? (might have needed a bell desk dolly)
Were they all in cases or bags? (toting 10 guns around uncased and/or uncovered should alarm anyone)
Wouldn't even 10 gun cases or bags look suspicious, let alone 10 guns not in cases?
Did he take them up to the 32nd floor one at time? 2 at a time? (still suspicious)
Was housekeeping personnel in the room at all?(only place to hide 10 guns would be closet or maybe under the bed, but still, can you hide 10 gun cases easily?)
What were the "platforms" made of? Outside materials? Hauled up to the 32nd floor?
What about the cameras he set up?
No one saw anything? Not employees OR other guests?
If you see something, say something.

This time, what happens in Vegas isn't staying in Vegas.

You've gotta be extremely lucky for that to happen...once a shooter gets the jump (element of surprise), there is not enough time to return fire...much less determine where the shots are coming from.

By the time they get a handle on it...much of the damage will already be done!

Anyway,

On topic, and on Trump, i have a friend of 30 years who is an "on fire leftist" who disliked football because he thought it "too violent." I called him Sunday just to say hello. He was watching football "because "Trump is not going to tell us what to do."
We both had to laugh at that.
He also pointed out how full was the stadium in England for an NFL game.

The NFL has other problems.

too many trades too often.

too much stopping for flags (even though it seems that they are doing it less this season)

too much fining, chastizing and suspending twenty somethings for acting like twenty somethings.

why doesn't the network have the cameramen point the camera at the flag or the singer only and stop showing the kneeling during the broadcast.

The media is definitely behind fueling this. For every game they talk about whether they're sitting or standing or who's doing want during the anthem. For one game that showed you a player was doing stretching exercises during the anthem, LOL.

They're letting them do a little touchdown celebration.

The stands for the Patriots playing are going to be full without a doubt since they are the reigning Super Bowl champs. My team, the Seattle Seahawks, they chose to come out of the lockeroo this time. Michael Bennett and two of the players didnt stand, but at least now they're not hiding in the locker room anymore. My quarterback always stood with his hand over his heart, so it must have killed him when he must have been pressured to go in the locker room. I'm not hearing any more about Michael Bennett and his high-profile civil lawyer going after the Vegas police department. It seemed he stopped before the shooting. Otherwise, one may say he would look pretty low to go after them after the bravery they showed with this attack on the concert.

Now Cam Newton is in trouble, off-topic. He said something to a female reporter about it's funny to talk about doing routes with her. Of course women are on the field all the time interviewing them and they have knowledge of the game so it was insulting to her and other women and to one of the people who hire him to be a spokesperson so they have fired him. It was that Yogurt Company. He should have known better than to say something like that being women have been reporters on the field and in the locker room for a long time, but I don't know if there should be this big hoopla as there is about it.

Well, I don't know what was "given to them." Maybe there are some white NFL players that grew up in relative luxury, but I don't think there are too many black ones. I mean, I'd like to see any statistics that tell me how many black NFL players had things "given to them." Far as I know, most black NFL players grew up poor.
