i understand what you are saying, hawking, and can't disagree with most of it.

Except

debauchery, etc. and such and use of funds for social "change" and feel good impracticalities are more likely in Dem run cities.

"""When the hell have you ever heard Republicans talk about recreation center updates, after school programs or city pumps? The only time they talk about road repair is when they hit a pothole in their neighborhood. ""

i have. even if in some cases to make sure that "they" have theirs so they don't have to come to "ours."
whatever the reason,

new pool, new playground.

they are not using public funds for an agenda.

if they want to campaign against abortion, they get churches and private funding. they are not taking it out of the streets budget.

i don't get paid to be right, yule, Do you think that i am a republican?
try not to resort to ad hominem so quickly.

“debauchery, etc. and such and use of funds for social "change" and feel good impracticalities are more likely in Dem run cities.”

This is obviously a “go nowhere” debate, because we don’t in any way agree on what is “debauchery” or the value of “social change.” But I’m not sure how it’s much different for Democrats to spend considerable time and resources pursuing civil rights and liberties when Republicans spend considerable time and resources pursuing religious and moral rights (more specifically, Christian and moral rights).

“what is so significant about when the alleged shooter (yeah) shot the security guard and the ‘timeline?’”

From a conspiracy theorist point-of-view, any changes to the original narrative is an indication of a conspiracy theory.

However, even from a non-conspiracy theorist point-of-view, this is a little peculiar, because law enforcement’s entire original theory of why the gunshots stopped were based on the security guard being shot 10 minutes AFTER they started, not 5 minutes BEFORE they started – and also, considering the security guard is still alive and they have all kinds of security footage of hallways, stairways and elevators, how did it end up taking a week for them to figure out they had the timeline wrong? I don’t think it changes anything about Paddock’s primary motivations, because there’s still no there there, but the new timeline almost suggests it was the encounter with the security guard that started the shooting, not the other way around. Had the security guard not disrupted him, would Paddock have changed his mind (as he might have done at previous locations) and chosen another target on another day? And now, on top of all the other puzzles, we find ourselves puzzled as to why Paddock stopped shooting, if no one was approaching him at the time, and apparently he was not beginning his attempted escape. And I’m not sure to what extent the autopsy can pinpoint time-of-death, but did Paddock shoot himself shortly after he stopped shooting, or did he wait the hour until the SWAT time attempted to capture/kill him, and if it’s the latter, what the hell was he doing for that hour? According to the craziest conspiracy nuts, he was communicating with his masters ISIS or the AntiFa or he’d been dead for hours and the person who set him up and murdered him was doing all the shooting.

Undoubtedly, Paddock took most of these answers to the grave, and some investigators suspect he was all giggly about doing so. A puzzlebox for eternity.

"Police know who has the guns and who the drug supppliers and gun providers are and they do not live in the inner city and people in the inner city are not bringing guns and drugs to town or across the border. "

>>>its true, the days of making a "zip gun" out of leftover pipe and a nail for a firing pin are done. Gang members can make "strawman purchases" down south where the gun laws are weak, smuggle them up the Iron Pipeline (interstate 95) and sell them for a killing in NYC

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/08/nyregion/two-dozen-people-are-accused-of-bringing-200-guns-to-new-york.html

how about Chicago?

"The Supreme Court ruling says a license is not required to transport a gun into Illinois. A bill that would allow Illinois residents to carry concealed weapons is also pending in the state House of Representatives. Last month, the House Agriculture Committee passed a concealed carry bill by a vote of 12-2. But the committee is dominated by downstate pro-gun rights lawmakers, and the bill must pass the full state General Assembly. Last year, long-standing handgun bans in Chicago and Oak Park were rendered unenforceable by the U.S. Supreme Court. The City Council quickly passed the new ordinance to replace the gun ban, which ordinance limits gun purchases to one per month, bans gun shops in city limits and prohibits gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or garages."

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/04/08/court-out-of-state-residents-can-carry-guns-in-illinois/

so, the guns come from out of town, and legislatures could give the police some laws with teeth to use against gunrunners. But for some reason, it doesn't happen.

How about education? Well, that requires money, and where's the tax base been going these last few decades, into the city or out into the suburbs? Maybe parents who were poorly educated then, are a disadvantage to their kids today?

http://blogs.longwood.edu/improvetheinnercityschools/

Here's a quirky little article about how the first "gangsta culture" was Jesse James, and maybe also was John Dillinger. Maybe we always had a cultural worship of the outlaw?

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/10/opinion/sunday/the-real-problem-with-americas-inner-cities.html

here's another article, on the school-to-prison pipeline:

Now we're being told that the murderer was a gambler, whose winnings were recently so regular and substantial that he had to declare that income to the I R S. But wouldn't that be a neat way in which to launder it? And, if so, whose money?

Is it really necessary to spend so much time and effort, and coming up with a thousand different theories about why this guy committed mass murder? The outcome remains the same, regardless of what people think or guess the motive is. Do people spend as much time wondering what would make a young person join the military and kill people in some far away foreign country?

Both arms of the media wanna milk this for as long as possible for the ratings!
But also, Pple on each side are desperately searching to "pidgeon-hole" this guy as either a right winger...or a leftist
For the purpose of attaining the satisfaction that it was just a politically motivated killing....and not because he was a rabid gun-nut who had an itchy trigger finger, who was pushed to the edge by Life's ups & downs!

its a crying shame that in this country, we can keep track of how many times a cancer patient gets narcotic pain-killer to alleviate his suffering.......but we can't monitor how many guns that a gun-hugger can buy at any given time!!!!!!!

DD, casino winnings are taxable, but over $1200 one automatically gets a W2 (tax) form right there on the spot. so its not all that unusual. But on one's income tax form, they have to declare their occupation, and some do list "professional gambler". You would have to be working with the casino issuing the W2 form in order to launder money this way, and it would be easier for them to just open up a fake store inside the casino and claim it was making profits.

the general populace wants to figure out what happened, thinking it can protect itself from doing it again....well, short of enforcing existing gun laws and passing new ones, of course. its like trying to have unprotected sex yet avoid STDs, how can we magically accomplish both?

Do you know, Las Vegas Carnage Questions scans with the rhythm of the following song, which is the type of thing that US musicians were successfully working-on in the 1956─63 inclusive interval, immediately before being rudely interrupted by the Beatles, Feminism, Hippiedom &c. And I would gamble on that Paddock was mad at such movements. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KwgLglh8io

When you win over 5K at Foxwoods (poker) you get a W2 form. I recall getting a 10K plus check in 2016 - no taxes were taken out - but If I lived in CT, I guess they would have taken out 7% or whatever the going rate is. Tax wise, Ct got as bad as nearby RI and Ma.

In 2015 I won 3K in one tournament. No W2 - paid in cash - nothing withheld.

In Fl I've won over 1200 many times. No W2 and always paid in cash.

Just as some folks will transfer from state to state so as to avoid or evade local Sales Tax, I daresay that a successful US gambler would know which casino places to play in in order to minimise taxation on his winnings

accept the fact that this guy was a crazed gun hugger...who was able to buy guns easier than buying a gallon of gas.
And after he finished buying them, he decided to put them to use...just for the sake of using them
in a state where gun ownership is seen as a virtue

^^ Once on a time I came across a Canadian penny stock – a mining company, I think – called Darkhawk Developments. And ever since I've thought that that name is cool. But there's hardly a squawk about anything that may be developing in the investigation of the Las Vegas Carnage. However, I still believe that there's more to it than meets the eye

Focusing on the 'Nth Amendment' or 'bump stocks' may be deflecting us from finding why this massacre occurred

or perhaps you're deflecting from the fact that if not for the 2nd amendment or bump stocks that particular massacre wouldn't have occurred,

the paper found in his room calculating and calibrating the range of his shots indicates that he was going for a "Kill Count" which is a "fad" made popular in movies and video games

"John Wick" hold the title for the most accurate kill count and responsible usage of a firearm while shooting into a crowd and killing only the bad guys

Stephen Craig Paddock & 'Marilou Danley' may have been acting strangely since August (this year).

by "acting strangely" ... do you mean they posted in forums accusing others of acting strangely? ...

Posted By: DDSearle
And the shooter's brother, Eric H Paddock, when interviewed, displays more grimaces and shrugs than a Frenchman. For me, he seems suspicious too..

when confronted about a relative killing and wounding over 500 people ....how should one act in order to not appear suspicious?

Posted By: DDSearle
displays more grimaces and shrugs than a Frenchman.

why do people attack the French ....if not for them we wouldn't have French Fries

Posted By: DDSearle
There are other reports that Eric (the other brother) Paddock may be a 'drug' dealer.

so he's a Doctor? ...or a liquor store owner?
