Isn’t barry a welsh thing too?
Good guy? My how that phrase has derision poured all over it in these forums these days lol, strange times we live in.

She could never suss why i could stay awake till 5 in the morning our time then go to work the next day.

I lived with someone like this when I was younger. I’d wake up in the morning (I love my sleep) and he’d fixed bikes, washing machines, made stuff, he was quite handy. He was also a fair bit younger than me.

Only fitting I support a crap team, you know with me being a loser lol

Vlad,
" Another alter ego is my las vegas singer is Barry Guy. It was a user name when i first went on online dating. Meet fiends online (make friends online to be fair) "

I had a great 8 or 9 years on mfo, great site back in the day, before they sold it, and it became a paid site, went down hill very very fast from there, i was on the " 40`s board " . Great bunch of friends, and great meets too! :O)

Couldn't you guy sleep over the weekend?

None of the above. Much more guitar heroes for me Dire Straits, the Eagles. And a bit more up to date the Manics (really appreciating their stuff a lot more at the moment for some reason), Mumford etc, Coldpay are getting a rerun in my head too, although I think they're a little formulaic. But then there's the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel. Both bands were like shooting stars in hindsight when you look at how much they did in such a short time.

Vlad,
" Another alter ego is my las vegas singer is Barry Guy. It was a user name when i first went on online dating. Meet fiends online (make friends online to be fair) "

I had a great 8 or 9 years on mfo, great site back in the day, before they sold it, and it became a paid site,

It was the first site i was on. My missus had just left me to go back to dundee (we laugh about it now but the fact that dundee was a better option than me hurt at the time lol).

It's where i met K. The love of my life. She is in canada. I asked if she fancied a blether one time. Of course she knew not what a blether was. We had a few years as a couple.

But events here took over. I used to sit up till 4 in the morning talking on the phone and using the cam on messenger.

She sent me a wireless keyboard and web cam for crimbo. I have a habit of walking and pacing about when on the phone. She asked one night why i was scratching my baws as i paced about.

How did she know? I was heavy into amphetamines at the time (hence the 4 in the morning). She had sent one of the motion cams. When i moved it followed me lol i got even more paranoid after that.

I still speak to folk from mfo. Never met them. The distance was too far. Yet canada was ok lol

Mind you could talk to folk on the cam? A lassie from brazil said hullo. I was talking to her. She put her cam at the window and the weather was sunshine max. I put my cam at the window. Lol it was pissing down and foggy.

Good auld days. Very innocent in a way wasnt it? I find the t'interweb to be more brutal now. What dost thou think?

Ps Barry Guy was my user name lol. The amount of times i got called Barry.

Chapster
"Couldn't you guy sleep over the weekend? "

No really. The demon drink. Then i had another episode thinking someone was in the house and i couldn't move. Then a mate of mine came along and i got something to keep me awake.

Went right through then on to work. Gouching big time now like. Tooth ache with grinding my gnashers.

Still. No fool like an old fool.

The bairns will need to wait till the morn for The Wonky Donkey

Rox
Barry is a gypsy word. It means good.

Vlad.

It WAS very innocent because it was`nt a dating site, i think that made all the difference, It was just what the label said ( make friends online ), and i did, many friends, met quite a few too!, i do miss those days.

These days, well, i have no social media, stopped using f/book years ago, got fed up with it very quickly after joining, todays internet is nowhere near as good as it was back then ( only my personal opinion ).

Vlad, I've never touched drugs whatsoever, nope, not even a bit of weed, blow or whatever you call it.It was just never within my social circle. Really pleased about that in hindsight as I did smoke and that was bad enough giving up. Ooops, I do beer and I guess that's a drug too. The difference is I simply fall asleep after a few of those.

Look after yourself, you sound like a lovely guy.

I’ve only been a member of this site (Love you PoF)

I dabbled with various things in my younger days, definitely all part of the ‘scene’ I was in.
Nowadays I move in different circles so it’s not part of my life.
I did try someones vape thingy a few months ago and nearly choked, can’t remember the flavour.
And vodka does really love me so who am I to argue with that.

I've been to give blood today. Only, my vein was small and awkward (rather like me) and once I'd filled the sample bag nice and quick it decided that was enough! I still got my tea and biscuits, I felt a bit of a fraud though. Not to worry, no-one talks at the tea table. Is that a normal thing, a southern thing or just a my clinic thing I wonder?

(I posted this on off topic. The unpopular thoughts thread)

Now listen here yous shermans. Your snowflakes come up with some stupidity. Like this below which OUR snowflakes then do the same.............

"Student union officials at the University of East Anglia have banned a Mexican restaurant from handing out sombreros to students, branding the marketing stunt racist.

The high-crowned straw hats had been given to students at a freshers’ fair in Norwich by staff from Pedro’s Tex Mex Cantina, a Mexican-themed restaurant in the city."

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/29/uea-student-union-bans-racist-sombreros

Cultural appropriation apparently. Thankfully normal citizens do not pay any attention and sometimes a wee story appears where some shrieking white middle class snowflake has had a well deserved slap for being a daftie.

But this cultural appropriation shite has inspired a good article by Brendan O'Neill about cultural appropriation.

"Why isn’t transgenderism ‘cultural appropriation’?
We chastise white women who have afro hairstyles but cheer men who dress as women."

https://www.spiked-online.com/2018/10/24/why-isnt-transgenderism-cultural-appropriation/

So bruce jenner is the prime example of a geezer pretending to be a woman when he is really a geezer. Should bruce no be getting pelters from intolerant illiberal liberals about his culturally appropriating being a woman?

And next week I'm going to see the stage play of Dracula. Written back in the 1920's.

Imagine the modern day Dracula play. He can't be a Count as that is too gender specific. He would also be guilty of biting necks without consent. But he is a bi biting vampire so the BLTU**** dafties would take issue with that.

And no borders snowflakes would DEMAND he is allowed to stay in Whitby. And if he does bite necks they can say it's in hus culture innit?

His allergy to daylight would mean he wouod qualify for state benefits though. And a council coffin to stay in.

But the vegan snowflakes would of course object to his love of blood. But not too loudly as they would be guilty of Transphobia.

That would then get bruce jenners cultural appropriation snowflakes on a twatter war footing.

Oooo the joys.

Umm, I think the difference is the majority of the white women (and men) who wear dreads or an "afro" hairstyle, don't actually believe they should have been born into that culture. Whereas all transgender women (well, apart from that guy who only did it to get sent to a women's prison so he could rape the inmates) have strong feelings they should have been girls and are in the wrong body.

But what if they DO believe they were born into that culture? Are they to be denied their 'right' to identify as they wish? If so why?

ALL transgenders? What you wrote there though sounds like a what have the romans ever done for us type thing.

Ok geezers dressed as women. You can be female except for............

But a geezer who dresses as a woman is still not a woman. The identity thing is fantastic though. As geezers dressed as women attack women who were born women.

As american comedian dave chappelle said about bruce jenner 'he can say he is a woman if he wants. But i don't have to buy into his illusion' (or words much the same).

It is brilliant watching the dafties eating each other up...........

Well..

Tonight 26th of October 2018 is my POF night out in a small but warm/friendly village pub a short walk from me..

The responses to the event invite were varied as per usual and the offers I`ve had from the blokes ranged from awful to bewildering but hey that's the way some of the British are I guess...

Anyway I`m looking forward to a nice and relaxing night and hopefully we`ll get a good response and turn out..

Nope, the one that was referred/linked to in the article you linked. Perhaps you didn't get that far as you seem more caught up whether men should be allowed to identify as women.

What about Sinead O'Connor, born catholic and announced today her conversion to Islam? Is that cultural appropriation? Is that transreligion? Does any of this really affect any of us?

(PS there will always be a few nasties who do these things for their ill-gotten gain)

I'm trying to stimulate debate. We have the ridiculous situation recently where a geezer decided he was going to have his knackers removed and live as a woman.

And why was he in the news? Because he wanted to retire at 60 because he was now a woman.

Now I'm sure many many real women would be upset by this. Especially as pension retirement age has just been increased.

Of course the gulag court in brussels took his side.

In america. A geezer has started living as a 'woman'. And one of the reasons was cheaper car insurance.

Probably the most famous feminist of our times germaine greer has been no platformed because she said geezers who think they are women are just geezers dressed as women.

And she said geezers who get their knackers chopped off are not women either. They are geezers with their knackers chopped off.

As for sinead oconnor. She was not born a catholic. No one is born religious. It is a lifestyle choice. Christianity, judaism and islam are lifestyle choices.

All the rubbish trying to make islam some kind of race is hilarious. How can someone have a phobia about a religion? Does that mean athiests are istismophobes then?

Identity politics has set everyone at each others throats. THEIR 'rights' taking precedence over everyone else.

One day the snowflakes will get a severe wake up call i think.

Ps just a wee thought. Can a white citizen be guilty of a race hate crime against another white citizen who has taken the lifestyle choice of islam?

I take Glucosamine and Condroitin supplements. Although they are not proven to work and not prescribed, ( mine were until a few months ago)
I recently ran out and forgot to re-order, my knee has been really playing up, so I am off to the health food shop to buy some more. I have heard that the glucosamine on it's own doesn't work you have to have the combination, and I usually get mine online. I injured my knee many years ago, Slipped in deep mud and twisted it, which resulted in a torn cartlidge, which at the time was very painfull and until I discovered Glucosamine I often had trouble walking without a stick. Since discovering Glucosamine, I not only walk my own dogs, but up until recently I ran a singles walking group with walks anything from 4 to 9 miles.

Hey there Chastirin and Chappy..

Cannot thank you both enough for the good luck wishes, it means a lot.

Its not till you send out an invite for one of these POF events and then get the replies that you actually find out just how horrible, non educated and actually foul mouthed and minded some of the people both men and women are on here, trust me on this and I`m more than certain that Chap will back me up on this due to he himself having been on more than one occasion on the receiving end..

After a while though you become used to it and I`ve been able to simply delete the threatening and vulgar ones and just focus my time and energies on the genuine replies with genuine enquiries..

It actually a shame that no one on here forum wise is anywhere close to West Yorkshire...it sure would have been pretty cool to see some of you in real life..

Please keep me updated on your venture to West Yorkshire and we`ll aim to meet up and have a drink or 3...

Just out of interest am I the only forum person in West Yorkshire? I know that young PollyR is in Doncaster but that's South Yorkshire...

Bit of a late entry this but just thought I`d let everyone know that it was a really nice night at the POF event I hosted Friday 26/10/18. Only 10 turned up out of the 70 sign up`s but they stayed for about 3 hours and we all chatted about all types of things.

In other news, am I the only male member on here who doesn't own a car? Young OrangeTiger once said on here that I would be judged on not owning a car and that it would massively put women off, I can drive and have a full licence but I gave my last car to a friend to sell so he could buy a bus for a school contract and I basically walk everywhere or get taxi`s or trains...Maybe Orange was right after all....

Wrightbus71, I don’t think you having no car is a dealbreaker at all. It’s down to how determined you are to travel to see and meet with your date(s). Some guys with expensive cars might look appealing but if they’re too lazy to drive to their girls, I’m out.

On a different note, it’s been a freezing weekend. Anyone has had snow where they are?

Well done Wrighty, are you all going to get together again?

I should have thought it's going to cramp your style not having a car., it isn't so much as being judged but how do you get around to socialise? Almost all of the events I organise I have to travel too, there's not much happening in my town and people won't travel here either.
