Glad you enjoyed the quiz. we went to one last week. It is one where if the prize is won the money is accumulated. We've won a few times before but never managed to crack the game at the end but this time we did and won £40. I was a bit embarrassed so suggested to the tem we donated it to charity and as was the night before Remembrance Sunday we gave it to the poppy appeal. Win - win really as the £5 entrance fee includes a curry halfway through and we had a really good laugh. What could be bettter.

The quiz was brilliant and I`ll be going to take part next Tuesday now too..

In other news sadly the person who agreed to do the disco for my POF night out tomorrow night has now pulled out, so I`ve had to re jig my advert and placed a short notice apology to anyone who was actually thinking of attending to advise them of the fact.

Its only awkward as the function room I`ve been given is at the back of the pub and so I`ll be in there on me lonesome till anyone turns up...I guess I`ll just take a few magazines to help pass the time..

Well I was staggered to find out today that the manager of the venue I use for the events I run has asked me to remove the contact number for the venue due to getting way too many abusive calls from people on here who actually thought the number belonged to me...

Some folk are going to be on here for a long long time if that's how they treat folk..

I'm surprised by how mean and nasty so many folk are who reply to event emails but that's so easy for them to do. Actually phoning someone takes some effort. I'm surprised anyone bothers to run Pof events. What is it about Pof that causes this reaction, is it the same in other countries I wonder?

Hi Chappy,

The actual number of events here is the UK has dropped dramatically and the major factor is the abuse via reply to the invite then on the lesser scale some of the organisers actually meet someone so call it a day as host.

In all my 13 year history as a host this is the very first time ever that folk have actually taken time to ring the venue being used and abused either the staff or management.

But yes I`d love to know what it is about this site here in the UK that triggers off all this anger and violent and sometimes ignorance from members.

Its totally different over the water in Canada, they are mega relaxed and chilled out and very much supportive of their events and the event hosts..I guess I`m running mine in the wrong country..

Could be more people than ever have the realisation that life is pretty shit, yet still so precious.
After life there is nothing else.
Makes people miserable.
Makes me miserable. Difference is I don’t get angry.
Canada just hasn’t realised yet lol

On the plus side, I’ve bought a new bike today after my other one came a cropper when a car tried to take us out.

But i digress. Today i thought i would try and cut some bills down by downsizing. So belled EE and they were no problem.

I phoned virgin media to get rid of an overpriced tv package. The lassie said 'oh but your contract you 'signed' on the 30th of october does not finish for a year'.

Eh what contract hen? I phoned on the 30th october to get BT sport so i could watch the football.

'Yes and you 'signed' a new yearly contract'.

No i didn't. I told the lassie i was not wanting tied for a year.

'We sent you an email on the 31st october for you to 'sign'.

Yes and i never 'signed' the email. It is still blank.

By this time i was getting pissed off. So i said she would be better getting a supervisor and i will shout at them because they earn more money.

Awaiting a phone call.

So i looked online. It seems virgin media renew contracts for you. To save you the stress.

If you have virgin media beware. Because if you choose to say put the football on for a month virgin AUTOMATICALLY put you on a years new contract. Even if you are only 5 month into the original contract.

I've emailed the complaints department and requested a SARS copy of the telephone call. This will prove new contract was never mentioned.

After new year i am giving them 30 days notice to end the contract because i am moving house.

Not that i am but i think Now TV for the telly and Plus Net for the broadband.

Just beware folks of those money grabbing rodents.

And ps
Do any of yous have an amazon firestick? You can install kodi onto it. The youtube clip shows ye how.

All you need is iptv. It costs me £30 for six months. 3,228 channels i have. Uk, irish, american, canadian etc. All the movie channels. All the sports channels. PPV channels. Club football channels. And i accidentally went on to the HD triple xxx channels.

So rat bairn has stones in her liver. They are operating on them on Monday. Then she is home to rest and go back in again and get her gall bladder removed.

At least we know what the problem is now.

Virgin media. Phoned this morning and got put through to a supervisor. South african geezer.

'Yes you are getting our top deal sir'

And a contract that i neither asked for or signed for.

'Yes but the deal is good sir. Virgin media are the top provider in the uk. The public have said so'

Eh not if you go into google and search for virgin media terrible customer service mate.

'But you have a great deal sir'

Just put me through to cancellations mate.

Anyway got a sound lad from manchester. Ends up he is the only red in a blue family. His middle name is francis lee lol

So the years contract has gone. The current bill of £86 has been reduced to £57. He also allowed me to downgrade the tv package. My monthly bill is now £45

Sorted.

Well it balances out. I don't pay the tv tax to the bbc. I do not subscribe to sky sports or sky movies so auld murdoch benefits nada from my good self.

But i do have a telephone and a decent speed broadband connection included in the £45.

I also use the wifi connection on my mobile and my kindle.

And the modem powers the amazon firestick. Which as i stated i have the global entertainment app which cost £30 for six months. This gives me over 3,000 channels.

Including all the sky sports, movies and pay per views.

So i am quite a happy bunny now

Well..

Its ten to two in the am here in a dark and damp Altofts ( West Yorkshire ) on the 7th of December..

I cannot sleep properly due to constantly wondering how my POF event is going to go in roughly 16 hours time ( 8pm ).

Luckily I`ve got a few magazines to take to keep me occupied..

Real shame non of you lot arnt able to come along and join me...

Well just one good shot would have saved all that vote of no confidence crap..

In fact if my workings are correct, if you lined up Teresa and Phil Hammond and Amber Rudd who I think is the woman in charge of the current welfare and benefits and you managed by some means to get them stood in front of each other and you got a clear shot with a 8" armour piercing round with a powerfull enough semi auto rifle you could take out all three in one go...

Not sure what you're trying to say Bunny. If it is that the news is being stoked up for political reasons then explain what is happening in Ukraine. and Syria. Without a doubt Putin has an internal problem to which he is trying to find an external solution. China is flexing its muscles. It certainly was not the time to buy two unusable expensive aircraft carriers.

I spent an hour yesterday bartering my phone and broadband deals.
(Both with different companies)
They were so quick to accept lower payments I’m now wondering if I did get the best deal lol
Ok ok I want something for nothing....get real.
