Slightly different scenario from yours, But...

After my aunt died, my uncle was almost immediately contacted by a woman he'd been in 'Confirmation Class' with (6-7th grade) way back when.They were both in their fifties. She barely gave him time to process his grief before she led him to the altar. They've been together ever since, thirty years or so.

Seem happy.
