I have 2 tattoos and both are actually very beautiful......They are also very special to me and I don't regret getting either of them.

Still haven't decided if I will get one more or not......Or where I will have it done but it will be placed in an area that I won't be ashamed to show!

Blaze, only one problem for me with the versus' you found; they are from the old testament. People were expected to live by the law, and not pick and choose which laws to follow. The new testament brings the law full circle because before it, (as so often now) the law was being used to beat up on people and hold them in captivity. If someone today chooses to live under the law, that is fine with me because it is their choice. However for me, I choose to live under grace, and follow what God tells me, because there is no way I could follow all the laws of the old testament. For example, I would have a real problem sacrificing animals every so often as payment for all my short comings. When examining things from the old testament, I always look into not only the original translations and nuances, but also why certain things were done and to whom the letter was originally written to.

Love that show Blue Eyes. One that I will always remember; I guy came in wanting a tat of his daughter on the left side of his chest. He wanted it placed there to look exactly like she looked when she slept there at that very spot, (She was only about a year or so old). The reason he wanted it done was because his daughter had a terminal disease and would be dead by age 4 or 5, and he always wanted to feel her close to his heart. As a dad, I had to stop and go give my children a great big hug, and count my blessings!

Blaze, the reason I qualified my statement and said "for me" is because of my beliefs. I do believe that it would be impossible for me to follow every rule in the Old Testament. In the U.S. there are some rules which could get you thrown into prison, or at least cause a great deal of trouble (ie... an eye for an eye, animal sacrifices, smearing blood over the door post during pass over, and in California maybe, if passed, spare the rod spoil the child,) That is why I said I choose to live by grace. Living by grace means I listen and obey. If I am convicted about something, and ignore it, then I am disobeying and so far I have no conviction about tatts, or piercings. If I am ever convicted about those things however, you can bet I will follow and obey, but I will never try to bring those convictions upon others. (not that I think that is what you are doing either).

hard drive, Surely you speak in jest, or were drunk, or you are just plain stupid.

Misstrie, you are very beautiful and feminine indeed, however I would also probably find someone with your attitude rather boring in a day or two.

tasteful tattoos on a woman are a turn on....all this about the bible and so on....isnt worshiping a cross or a statue classed as paganism?....

Nothing wrong with tats....getting a tat of my lost sons foot prints and his name on my arm....so he can always be with me

Depends.

I've had mixed feelings depending on the girl, and the tattoo(s). If there are a lot of them, it can be a turn off, unless they are unique, and tasteful. I simply despite seeing tattoos that I've seen tonnes of times, I cannot believe that some people just go into a parlor and point at something in a book and say "that one" or "I saw this one, I want it too". To me, that expresses lack of creativity, and individuality, which to me is a huge turn off (and subsequently, why I don't prefer "girly-girls".) Body art is supposed to be a form of expression, and if you express the same thing everyone else does than why should you stand out?

On the topic of tattoos on women, why the hell do you say in your profile "Don't message me about my tattoos, they're real" and have pics of them? Christ, take them off your profile if you don't want someone to compliment/criticize them.

*Edit*If and when I get my tattoos, I've already designed my own, though I may get scarification instead.

I think it depends on the tattoo, if it's a bad one I'd be turned off. I might be turned on a bit more by a wild girl with interesting tattoos because the stereotypes are usually true, especially for girls that get tramp stamps. But seriously.. I would much favor a woman that was a traditional, good girl and conservative. Since that's the type of woman I'd settle down with. So the un-tattoo'd woman wins out for me in the end.

Some are okay, smaller, discrete ones can be sexy.

I hate tattoos on breasts though. Breasts are great just as they are, they don't need any decoration. And if you think they're bad enough that they DO need to be decorated, well, a tat isn't going to help.

Tribal tats and Chinese/Japanese symbols are a turnoff too, because they're so meaningless and trendy. Unless you're Asian, there's no reason for such a tat.

Most large, random tats aren't very sexy, but a heavily tattooed woman can be sexy if it's good work that was clearly planned out well. I saw a pic of a woman in a tattoo mad that had a vine with flowers flowing up the side of her body from ankle to shoulder, and I thought that was sexy, because it was feminine and well done.

I don't look at the tattoos.

If a chick with a rhino-face has a nice tattoo, she ain't gonna turn me on.

On the other hand, if she had the body of a rhythmic gymnast, with the face of an angel, I wouldn't care if she had a life-sized tattoo of James Carville's head on her chest.

For what its worth it is ONLY my opion on the matter....BUT..! I think ALL tattoos look gross. On a guy...well it still does not look good but on a female body...well down right UGLY..! HOWEVER if it very small and I do mean VERY small and is something that will not show in public and is something tasteful....I can let it slide. But I much prefer her to have NO tattoos what so ever. I like my act work on canvas hanging on the wall....not on ones body. But then that is just me...I am kinda old fashion in that way.... And I much more prefer the traditional, good girl type. This is the type I would must wish to find and marry and settle down with. But that is just me...

The original question was: "tatoos on a womanturn on or turn off" Why do some women have to bash someone for stating their honest opinion? A very small tatoo of something like a flower just above the crack of the butt or on the side of one boob is pretty darn sexy, but I still would prefer none. I think that is sexier.

i have one tattoo...small one on my ankle.
im thinking about getting another one.
my first one was bought for me by my daughter for one of my birthdays (recently)
i think its a personal expression
and ill not worry about what i have to tell my grandkids
because i don't have to tell them anything.
and ill not worry about what it looks like when im older
ill have other more important things to worry about.
and if someone doesn't like me because of it
ill not worry about that either.

".A classy elegant woman doesn't have them"

I say a classy, elegant gentlemen would never make such ugly statements! It's one thing to say tatts are a turn on, or a turn off, it's quite another to make such overly generalized, judgmental statements! I also find it incredible that people actually seek out these kinds of threads not to simply give an opinion, but rather to take the opportunity to bash others and spew as much negativity as possible! You have your opinion- tatts are a turn off for you and that's fine; however I would be willing to wager that guys with arrogant, judgmental attitudes are a much bigger turn off for women, than your little turn off will ever be.

(oh btw, in case you are wondering, no I do not have any tatts, but people with your attitude make me want to run out and get one as fast as I can just so I can be in your face about it!)

body art ???

well overall I feel if you were not born with it
then why have it ??

I would agree with the statement " that INK belongs on canvas"

as we enter different phases of life
the TATOO stays forever -

in a different day . phase or entity of the body
that OLD TAT -- just ain't the same --

so in the end MOST are a turn off -

that being said -
I have seen some well done
and I do fancy the LOWER BACK variety..........

names of EX's --- turn off
sloppy TAT's on TIT's --- awful !!!!
why would a woman want a Tatoo artist so close to her
breasts or other private area for so long ?

People without tattoos who talk about other people's tattoos are the turn off...

Well, I think people without tattos, that wish they had tatoos, but are'nt sure if anybody else likes them, so they don't get them, then live vicariously through others that have them, therefore they talk about them all the time are boring....wait a second did I just say what he said^^^^^^.... ....
Seriously though, I have no tatoo's , at times I like to discuss them, sometimes I want a few. but a woman who has them and, they are actually more than mere'attention getters' and conversation pieces is very attractive...I need to make a 'So, You wanna Date me application' that reads : Tattoo's not required, but, they are fun to look at although I would rather discuss more than just tatoo's...

Be aware of the implication of some tattoos. For example you may want to steer away from a woman who has one obviously applied with a razor blade & ball point pen which simply reads "13 1/2". This translates into 12 jurors + 1 judge + half a chance.
