Here's a trivia question: Has anyone heard of Ellen Foley?

Neither have I, until I looked it up to find out her name. Her claim to fame is the female singer with Meatloaf, on the Bat Out of Hell album, where they sang the hit single Paradise by the Dashboard Light. No matter how old that song is, I still like hearing it and sing along to it.

I grew up with Peter, Paul and Mary (Mary Travers), and Judy Collins. After that it was Carole King.
Years later, I enjoyed Karen Carpenter, Blondie (Debbie Harry) and Stevie Nicks. AND Tina Turner!
Today, it's Natalie Cole, Adele and Susan Boyle.

I've had some good stuff come on Pandora lately. I'm now checking out The Emotions, Love Unlimited, and The Three Degrees. Definitely great soul from the early to mid 70s.

I have a bit of a problem with noise so no longer listen to music. But when I did, I'd have to say Kate Bush was my favourite, with "Under Ice" my favourite song. Tracy Chapman ("Fast Car") and Jane Siberry ("Mimi on the Beach") are favourites, too.

I'm astounded at the number of great female singers who didn't hit it big and had a short run. One such singer was Jackie Ross who is not related to Diana Ross. Her biggest hit was this catchy number from 1964 called "Selfish One".

Just purchased a hard to find Diana Ross CD "Touch Me In The Morning" expanded edition.

I'm getting another from her shortly called "Blue" which had an unreleased album recorded around 1972.

I can't get enough Diana Ross!!!

Music is my aeroplane :)

Hmm..... I'm trying to think of those who hasn't been mentioned so far... how about Grace Slick? Ronnie Spector?
Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde) I love her whiskey voice , Blondie. I'd like to see Blondie and Cyndi Lauper, a blonde power duet rock it out.

Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde)

Oh, yes. I dig her. She is smoking hot in their "Heal it Up" video. She has an impeccable way of exuding sultriness through dynamics in that song.
